Does AttenGo Really Work?

Rate this post

AttenGo is a clinically tested program designed to treat children and teens for ADHD without using drugs. It’s all based online and is supposedly personalized for each user so they are getting help that is designed just for them. But can an online program like this be as effective as some of the pharmaceutical drugs out there designed to treat ADD? We looked into this further to see what real users say.

Overview
There is still a lot of debate as to whether or not prescription treatments for ADHD work or not, so it is interesting to see a software program like this claim to have the answer. It seems like they’ve got the right idea by using brain games to help build up your attention span and ability to focus. By making it fun or at least engaging it increases the chances of you sticking with it for a period of time long enough to notice results. So it’s not too far-fetched that a product like this could really help you or your child be able to gain control of their brain and not let it wander as much or as often.

The Claim
AttenGo says that be completing their online exercises you’ll be able to increase your attention span and ability to concentrate. They say you’ll also have reduced levels of being impulsive and hyperactive. You’ll have an improvement in your ability to plan and get organized, as well as have a boost to your self confidence when you see the results you’re getting. They say that you only have to use this for 25 minutes each day and that you’ll get results in a matter of weeks.

Overcoming distractions is also something they say you’ll be able to do. It seems like even if you haven’t been officially diagnosed as having ADHD you might benefit from this, because these are all things that we’d want in order to think more effectively and focus on the task at hand. However, if you haven’t been diagnosed there are other brain training games and programs that might be better suited for you.

The Hype
There is also a debate as to whether or not ADHD is a legitimate problem, or is just

something that kids do naturally and they’ve placed a label on it. But this is supposed to only be diagnosed if the problem is severe, and not just your average kids being kids sort of lack of attention. There is also the fact that we live in a society that seems to reward being distracted and escaping into things like video games, movies, and TV shows. It only becomes a problem when you want to get something accomplished and find that your brain can’t stop flipping the channels in your head.

The Cost
AttenGo is $44 a month for an individual. It’s backed by a 30 day guarantee that says you’ll have better attention and concentration by using the program. When you compare this cost to a regimen of prescription or non-prescription drugs, it’s not bad at all, and would be much better for your health.

The Commitment
Just like with any self-improvement effort you make you should look at making small progress over a long period of time. Since this only requires 25 minutes a day it should be pretty easy to find time to do it each day, and just remember to do it every day as part of your daily routine.

Evaluation
AttenGo is not your typical brain training program, and has a lot of science built into it to specifically treat those that have been diagnosed as having ADD or ADHD. What you’re looking for here is the improvement on your basic cognitive skills, which in turn enhances your Beta brain waves. By completing the exercises and gauging your scores and resultant feedback, you’re able to take control of the situation and see your progress.

Final AttenGo Review

AttenGo seems to have done a solid job at creating a software designed to treat a problem that many people are diagnosed with each year. The features we like best about it are that it’s comprehensive and gives real time feedback. We also like that they’ve got it down to 25 minutes a day, since that’s the average attention span. Most people suffering from ADD or ADHD might have trouble maintaining a focus for that long at first, but over time they can build up their abilities and be able to complete the exercises each day without a problem.

It’s getting our Try rating, but only if you’ve been told that you have ADD or ADHD. It’s backed by a 30 day guarantee, so there’s little risk in trying it out for one month and seeing if there’s an improvement in your scores. If you’re following it faithfully but not seeing your score improve, or noticing spillover benefits in other areas of your life, you can return it for a refund and there’s no harm done.

Our Recommendation
This is recommended if you’ve been professionally diagnosed as having ADD or ADHD and have a choice between taking a medication or treating it yourself through an online system. Any time you can avoid taking pharmaceutical drugs you are doing yourself a huge favor. Treating the cause without altering the synapses in the brain or effecting the brain at a cellular level the way powerful drugs do is a much better choice. If it doesn’t work you can always fall back on the medication, but it’s better to pursue all your options first.

  • I am an adult with severe ADHD, I was only diagnosed at 48 but I have had my symptoms my entire life.

I have done an enormous amount of reading on ADHD since being diagnosed. Leading researchers have found a genetic component, proving that it is not “made up” or “just how kids are”. And with the number of people I know in their 40s & 50s who are FINALLY getting diagnosed, it’s not just children who are affected either!
I struggled against my ADHD symptoms my entire life and the only thing that helped was medication after I was diagnosed. The reason it is the go-to treatment is because it WORKS and because it works better than any other thing that has ever been tried.
My niece had such severe ADHD as a child that not only would she not have made it through school without medication, she couldn’t even have been ENROLLED, because not only was she completely out of control due to her impulsive behavior, she was a bright & intelligent kid who was frustrated beyond belief because at the age of four, she couldn’t organize her thoughts enough to even SPEAK correctly...a thing that changed within DAYS of being on medication.
These myths are super harmful to people with ADHD and I wish

  • The concept of this is awesome! My step-brother had a hard time with ADHD in school, and he was always getting in trouble with the teachers because he had a hard time focusing. He finally started taking medication, but he hated taking it because it made him feel weird. It's a good idea to help people overcome this naturally through brain training techniques. And like Allison said, if this can really help without the side effects that come with medicine, then people would happily pay a lot more than $44.

That's too bad that you didn't think it worked well, Julie. I would have thought this would be a great product. Maybe this is more geared toward younger children? It would be worth trying, I think, especially if there is a money back guarantee.

  • AttenGo is not an effective product. My son has ADHD and we had worked with a therapist who had provided Neuro Feedback services. We had been very pleased, but after a recent move, we were unable to locate a therapist to provide Neuro Feedback services, so we decided to try AttenGo.
My son was very frustrated with the program because it is so simplistic and frankly boring.
I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. I had signed up for the one month trial and the company refused to refund the second month payment that was automatically deducted from my PayPal account.
I personally think this business is a sham.
I would encourage those seeking treatment to improve focus and attention elsewhere.

  • My daughter suffers from ADHD but what makes it even worse is that she's also extremely shy. She hates to go see the doctor or the therapist and the problems are only compounding. If attengo can help her with her ADHD symptoms with some simple online treatments it will make a world of difference in her life and mine. I don't care how much it costs as long as it can help my sweet baby, but the 30 day money back guarantee is assuring because it means they're confident of their product.
