Does Chopper Tattoo Really Work?

Rate this post

Choosing a tattoo is a big decision, and Chopper Tattoo claims to have a gallery of different designs to get your creative juices flowing. You can either use their designs as-is, or you can use them as the starting point for your own new creation. A lot of people are promoting this site as the one-stop source to picking your next tattoo design, but are they right, or is this all a big waste of time?

Overview
Tattoos are pretty permanent, even with the advances in tattoo removal. So it’s not something you just want to throw darts at to pick, you want to put a great deal of though into it. What design will help define you, or is in line with your beliefs or how you want to be perceived. A tattoo is a way of making a statement without saying a word. It’s often the first thing people notice about you if you put it in a visible place. Aside from being a person who would get a tattoo, what else do you want it to say about you?

The Claim
Chopper Tattoo claims to have the largest selection of award winning tattoo designs. We didn’t even realize that they gave awards for tattoo designs, but they probably do. They say they have thousands of designs including some of the most popular ones like tribal artwork, dragon tattoos, crosses, stars, designs for “tramp stamps”, butterflies, Gothic style, armbands, and more. They’d have to have a pretty extensive lineup of designs, or no one would keep their purchase after seeing the lousy offerings, and would just get their money refunded.

The Hype
The hype is that Chopper Tattoo has been around for quite some time now, and they have a lot of affiliates that are pushing the site to tattoo enthusiasts, and those wanting to get ink done. It’s hard to find a single tattoo website that doesn’t have a link to Chopper Tattoo on it. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but there are very few competitors that have so much hype built up about them.

The Cost
You can get access to their design collection for $20 for one month, or $25 for 2 months. You can also opt for lifetime access for $35. They all come with a 60 day money back guarantee, so if you don’t like what you see when you get to the other side, all you have to do is ask for a refund and you’ll get it. You may as well opt to pay extra up front, because if you don’t like it you’ll get your money back anyway, and if you do like it you’ll probably want to keep access to it for future use, since most people that get one tattoo end up getting another down the road.

The Commitment
Browsing through all of the designs can be a commitment in itself. A lot of them are pretty similar to one another, with just slight variations. You may feel overwhelmed by the amount of choices you have. If you thought you had things narrowed down to a few different designs, you might find dozens more that make it onto your once short list. The way we suggest is to go through and tag all of the ones that you might possibly want, and then go back and cut that list in half. Then keep cutting the list in half until you have 2 or 3 left. Then get feedback from those that are closest to you to help you choose the winner.

Evaluation
They don’t let you browse anything without first collecting your name and email address, at which point they just send you to their sales page, which is kind of a bummer. It would be nice if they would let you see a good amount of samples, or at least show very small thumbnails of the kinds of things you can expect to see once you pay. Instead, they put everything behind lock and key and make you pay if you want to see what they have.

Final Chopper Tattoo Review

You can try to browse for tattoo designs by doing a Google image search, or from other free directories, but to save time and to get access to designs you won’t see elsewhere, this isn’t such a bad service. If you end up using a tattoo you found at their site, you won’t mind paying the fee for it. And if you own a tattoo shop, this is a great way to add to your library of designs.

Our Recommendation
If you’re stuck on what to ink yourself with, this could be a good way to get a lot of different ideas. If you find one you like, it’s easy enough to get a tattoo artist to follow the design and produce good results. Your tattoo is going to be with you for a while, or until you get it removed. It’s important to take the time to make the right decision here, and pick out a design you know you can live with for the long term.
