Does City Lips Really Work?

Does City Lips work?City Lips positions itself as an award-winning lip plumping option that leaves you with fuller lips in just one month’s time. There are a lot of these so-called lip plumpers, some are good, some are bad, and some are flat-out dangerous. So how well does this one really work?

Fuller lips have been in demand for several years now, and the rise of their popularity can be attributed to actresses like Angelina Jolie, and an assortment of supermodels. In order to try to attain luscious puckers if you weren’t lucky enough to be born with them, many women have undergone Botox treatments, collagen injections, and more to plump them up artificially. There are also lip plumpers that cause an intentional allergic reaction to make the lips swell temporarily. Beauty is pain, so they say.

The Claim
With City Lips they say you are getting an increase in collagen naturally, without having to suffer the pain of injections. They say that their formula not only gives you visible results instantly, but that those results get better over time, with 30 days providing the best results. They also say you’ll get guaranteed results over the long term as long as you keep up with it. They also say that it won’t dry out your lips. The award they won is from Good Housekeeping, and they were also featured on ABC News.

The Hype
Companies like these don’t really have to hype the problem up, since many women are already motivated to get fuller lips by all of the advertising and media showcasing women with bigger lips as the preferred ideal. But they’ve managed to be featured in magazines and TV, so they’re stirring up the hype and getting some media attention.

The Cost
One bottle of City Lips is $35 with shipping included. They have specials when you order more than one bottle at a time. The best deal you can get on it is 3 at a time for $90, so a slight drop in the price to less than $30 a bottle. You can also get it from Amazon

The Commitment
Even though this is supposed to provide instant results, you’ll still want to stick with it for a full 30 days before making your final evaluation and deciding if you want to reorder it. It depends on how much plumping you need done. If your lips are very thin, you’ll need to use it longer before reaching your desired appearance. If you just need a slight boost, or want to accentuate your already full lips, you would need to use it less.

They say that City Lips is so safe that you can use it while you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. This is because it is using natural ingredients and not full of chemicals that could burn you or cause you to have an adverse reaction. One thing to note is that in addition to helping with the size and plumpness of your lips, it also helps to smooth out the fine lines on your smackers, the ones that appear due to a loss of collagen. This is one feature that isn’t included in all of the plumpers on the market, since many of them do not work by increasing collagen production.

Users are split on whether this works or not, which is not surprising for a product of this nature. With so many different sizes and shapes of lips out there, and different goals as far as what the lips should look like after using it, there is a wide variety of expectations, and it’s only natural for it to get mixed reviews. What’s interesting to note is that it has worked for some, which means that it’s not a total dud, and could be worth trying under the right circumstances.

Final City Lips Review

City Lips is getting our Solid Try rating, based on the positive feedback it’s received, and because it uses all-natural ingredients. This is something you don’t see with too many lip plumpers that rely on chemical additives that are meant to cause the body to respond by swelling up the lips. We like that there’s a cumulative effect to using this, so that the results get better each day you use it. Many of the plumpers we’ve seen are temporary, and do not build on themselves, but rather your lips return to their original size after each use.

Our Recommendation
There aren’t too many great options when it comes to plumping up your lips. You can either opt for painful cosmetic procedures, at-home treatments that can burn your lips with allergens, or go with products that just don’t seem to work. While City Lips doesn’t work for everyone, it has been shown to work in some instances, and with the 30 day guarantee in place we think it’s worth trying to see if you respond to it.

How long did you use it? Did you use consistently?

City Lips did plump my lips but I am quite allergic. I developed a rash on my lips, tongue and inside my mouth that required medical attention. After a full week of medication and topical treatment, my mouth has not returned to normalcy. I won’t be using it again. A perfect waste of $35 for me.

Thank you for the reviews. I was hesitate to pay $35.00 with all the bad reviews I’ve read. The above reviews have convinced me it’s not worth $35.00 for a product that might or might NOT work. I am so Disappointed.

I’ve been using city lips for about a week now. I absolutely Love it! I ordered the original clear just to try. Omg my lips are normally so dry, to the point where I can Peal them in the winter time, painfully dry. THIS took care of that immediately! My lips have Never looked fuller! And they’re smooth as a baby’s! I’m 41, and I’m a Believer! I will now try some colors! If you don’t believe it’ll plump your lips at least believe that it is literally THE BEST hydration your lips will Ever have! I mean, my lips look plumper just because they’re healthy again! I’m not a smoker but I have noticed subtle lines above my upper lip, heredity/aging process I believe but in all honesty, I have seen them also diminishing after just a weeks use! I apply Before bedtime and a few times during the day. It’s a very thick gloss and stays on for hours. But I do reapply after I eat. So far so good. I’ll definitely be reordering, probably forever! Love, love, LOVVVE this product!!!♥️

This is exactly what I needed to hear!! No gloss is going to “plump” anyone’s lips like that’s just common sense but mine are always chapped no matter what I try so if I can get them healthy looking then it will make them look fuller just like you said 🙂

This is a great product. I’m an older woman who’s lips were becoming thinner, after I purchased citylips it took about 2 weeks to see the difference, did it give me Jolie lips? No, but I was very pleased wîth the improvement.

I have been using this over a month now and I do see some changes. The product is well hydrating to my lips and I do like the clear color on my lips

City Lips plumps the lips for a short time but goes away. I had to stop using it. It irritated my mouth. Caused redness & inflammation in corners of my mouth. Dried out my lips, too. Might be allergic to one of its ingredients. 🤷‍♀️

No it doesn’t plump up your lips, it’s a nice lip gloss abet though a very expensive one…. Verdict …. Don’t waste your money 😁

I got it today and was SO excited to try Ciry Lips. I used it and I felt tingling in the beginning and then I kept it on for about 5 minutes. I then went back to look in the mirror and I had a bad reaction. My lips were so red and you could see where I missed applying and where I accidentally over drew the gloss on one side of my bottom lip. I didn’t have a good reaction. I am going to try it again tomorrow to see what happens again. If it’s the same reaction I will be returning it.

I just reordered for the second time as have found that I get good results. Can definitely tell positive results! I am in the cosmetic business and actually paid for lip fillers once. That cost me $1500 and only lasted 15 months so will not do that again. I use the plain and put my brand lipstick over it – two of my friends have ordered it now!

Lips feel moisturized but it is such a thick lip gloss. I have to tug my hair out of it. Too expensive for me.
