Overview
Whoever invented tiles probably didn’t realize they were also inventing grout lines that would need to be cleaned. The problem with grout is that it attracts and absorbs dirt, mildew, and anything else that comes into contact with it, and because it is located between tiles, it can be hard to get to. Not only that, but most areas that have tiles have a lot of them, and they have a ton of grout lines as well. So most grout cleaning jobs are epic in size, and can eat up the better part of the afternoon.
The Claim
The Groutinator claims that it can clean up your grout instantly, and that all you have to do is just rub and it does all the work. They say that it works by their patented texture that makes it tough and abrasive, but soft enough so that it doesn’t scratch your titles up or damage your grout. They say that it can restore your grout back to the color it was when you first got it, without using chemicals, without scrubbing until your arm feels like it’s going to fall off, and without scraping away at really stuck on dirt.
They say that it doesn’t matter what color grout or tiles you have, it can work on anything. They say that this is not a cover-up and that it actually cleans up the dirt, hard water stains, even coffee stains and waxy buildup. Not only that, but if you have calcium stains it can handle those too. If you live in an area that has red clay problems it can deal with those as well. They also claim that it doesn’t matter where your grout is located, it can even handle grout that is outdoors like around a pool.
The Hype

The Cost
You can get the Groutinator for $17 on Amazon including shipping. This lets you avoid going through the main sales channel, where they try to get you with a bogus buy one get one free just pay shipping offer.
The Commitment
Even though this is more of a commitment than calling a grout cleaning service, it is far less expensive, and is apparently easier than going with the old toothbrush and cleanser method. You’ll still have to be the one to rub this on all of your grout lines, but until someone drops out of the sky and says they want to clean your grout for you, the job is yours.
Evaluation
Groutinator seems to work pretty well in most real world tests, but there’s no guarantee that it will work for you and your specific situation with your grout. There’s not really enough feedback on it to make a conclusion on whether or not it works. This seems to be new contender in the grout cleaning arena, and we look forward to seeing more people give it a shot and report back.
Different Grout Cleaning Methods
There’s not much you can do to prevent your grout from getting dirty. Tile is used in areas that get wet a lot, which leads to an environment that is conducive to mold, and grime forming, and grout is something that just has a knack at absorbing it. There are some grout products out there that say they bond with your grout to help it be more resilient to these stains, and there are even grout products out there that don’t even try to clean the grout, they just cover it up for aesthetic effect.
Groutinator is getting a Try rating from us. Most signs are pointing to it working, but not at the level that they claim. Of course, even if it does
half the job they say it does you’d still be in pretty good shape for $17. At this price point, it is definitely worth giving it a go because the odds are stacked in your favor. If you get fantastic results, you just found your new go-to for grout cleaning. If you get less than desired results, it will still probably be worth the price, so you won’t be left feeling like you wasted your money. Our Recommendation
Give your grout the one-two punch. First, use Groutinator to get your grout clean, and then use Grout Shield to put a protective coating over your grout so you don’t have to clean it as much. The problem with grout is the way it gets dirty again so fast. With Grout Shield you can reduce the number of times you have to clean your grout, which makes most people feel good.

I agree with Renelda in saying that the name is extremely ridiculous but the actual product has potential to being a great sales item. I wouldn't want to buy this through the tv ads because, as Does It Really Work? mentions, I don't want to get roped in to a Buy One Get One Pay Additional Shipping type of deal. If it is available on Amazon for $17 including shipping and handling, I will give it a try. If there is a way to make getting the grout out of my shower just a little bit easier, then I'm all for it.
Name's cheesy as hell but it's got potential. I don't know how many times you could use it, but at $17 it's cheap enough to give it a try. I should actually check out the protective coating as well, since that's going to make my life much easier in the future.
