When it comes to hosting you basically are going to get the same package from each of the different companies out there, it just comes down a the little differences. But these differences can turn into big issues if you’re not careful. That’s why it’s important to pick a good host from the beginning, because changing hosts once you get going is a hassle, and going with a lousy host can end up costing you time and money if there is downtime or if they don’t have the system requirements that are necessary for some software and content management systems out there.
The Claim
Just Host says that you can get unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited domains, a site builder, free setup, unlimited free email accounts, and unlimited free databases. This may sound impressive, but everybody is doing it so it’s not that big of a deal. However, not many companies are doing it at this price point, so it is pretty interesting. They’ve also been around for a good amount of time now, so they are not just a flash in the pan.
One point of interest is there Anytime Guarantee. This states that you can cancel your account at any time and they will refund you the remainder of your time. This means that you can buy a larger plan, stay on for as long as you’re happy, and then if you ever want to leave you can do so and get a refund on whatever time you don’t use. This takes away any sort of feeling of obligation to stay.
The Hype
There is a lot of hype in the hosting industry, most due to the companies going to unlimited plans. It was basically an arms race until one company just said forgetaboutit we’re going unlimited. Then everyone else basically had to follow suit and now you have most plans giving you unlimited amounts of all the stuff you need to host a site.
The Cost
Just Host definitely tries to compete on price, with a package that is less than $4 a month that lets you host all of your sites on one account. This can get your hosting cost per site down to just pocket change a month if you have many sites.
The Commitment
You aren’t required to sign a commitment, and you just set this up on a month to month basis, or you can pay by the year, it’s up to you. They should also help you get set up, and if you have any issues they should help you fix them so that your commitment level is close to nill.
Evaluation
Just Host is pretty much your ordinary hosting company, there isn’t anything really extraordinary about them. What they offer is standard in the industry, with some hosts offering a little less and some a little more. The thing that is most interesting with them is that they offer the same sort of plans as the Big Boys but they still just have a small share of the market and still have lots of room to grow. We’re not quite sure how they can offer what they do and still make enough profit and stay competitive.
How Can Hosts Offer Unlimited Plans?
You’d think that a web hosting company wouldn’t be able to offer unlimited hosting. But it’s not that big of a stretch of the imagination when you consider that most of the users are not going to use anything close to an unlimited amount of disk space or bandwidth. It’s the same concept for gyms. If everyone with a gym membership suddenly showed up at the gym the place would be packed with a line going out the door for blocks. The reason they can say unlimited is because you likely will use just a modest amount of disk space and bandwidth, and if you start using a shady amount of either they will contact you to find out what you’re up to.
Just Host gets our seal of approval as a good host for the money. They have a lot of satisfied customers. Of course they also have a ton of people that don’t like their service, but
that is true of any web host. It’s the nature of the beast that some of the people aren’t going to like what you have to offer, either their site was down for too long, or they wanted features you just didn’t have. You can’t please everyone, but they seem to be trying their best at it.Our Recommendation
We couldn’t find any major complaints with Just Host, and they are very low priced. There are other low-priced options for you to consider. HostGator offers many economical hosting plans that you should check out. It may be a dollar or so more per month but they have a longer track record and history of stellar customer service and uptime, plus they are used by some of the best Internet Marketers out there. Either way you go though you’ll be getting a good host, with a good value for your money.

I used to host my website with Just Host in the past so I'll leave a brief review here for anyone who's interested in their services. If you have a very big website that gets over 100k visitors a day then look elsewhere, you need a bigger hosting company that can set you up with a proper dedicated server. However, if you're just starting out on the net or if you have a website with decent traffic then Just Host is perfect for you. Good price and good support, there's nothing more you can ask of a host for the price.
