Overview
When you’re getting a pair of headphones the first thing you need to consider is whether you want to get an over the ear, on the ear, or in the ear model. Each has their own benefits and drawbacks, and you should consider how you will be using the headphones the most and which type is most suitable for the job. Koss makes all types, so once you have that choice made, you then need to figure out which features are most important to you.
The Claim
Koss headphones are supposed to provide quality sound as well as help to keep noises to a minimum so you can get lost in the music. They don’t go to great lengths to shout out all of their benefits. They’re basically content to just list their features and let you make your own decision based on the tech specs and feedback.
The Hype
The hype comes from basically the entire product line getting good reviews, and prices being very reasonable. Most times you only have a choice between a low priced low quality headset, or high priced high quality headphones. With Koss it seems that you are getting the best of both worlds, which will lead some people to be skeptical that they could really sound good at the price.
The Cost
Koss headphones range in price from less than $20 all the way to $250 for their noise canceling model. What we’ve found is that in a head-to-head match up of different brands, they consistently come in as the more economical choice, all else being equal.

Evaluation
Koss headphones get great reviews on all of their different models. It’s rare that a company can put out so many different types of a product and have the feedback come in positively. Of course there are people that say they don’t like them, or say that there are other headphones that are better, but that is true with every headphone out there. You can find people saying that Sony is better than Koss, and if you go to the Sony reviews you’ll find people saying Koss is a better value, so it’s all relative to the listener, and it’s really up to your own experience.
Koss headphones don’t make a lot of outlandish claims, and seem to be striving to produce a solid listening experience at an attractive price. We’re giving them the Thumbs Up as a manufacturer, as you’ll likely end up happy with whichever set you go with. Just be sure to put a lot of forethought into what type of headphone you need, and how you’ll be using it, and you’ll be all set.
We did notice a difference in how the higher priced Koss models didn’t get stellar feedback like their lower priced models. So if you’re really into your sound you might want to go with a different brand, but if you’re looking for a good sound at a good price this would be your answer.
Our Recommendation
When buying a pair of headphones you want to think long term. If you buy the right ones they should last you several years before you’ll feel like trading them in. Try to project how you’ll use your headphone not just now, but down the road. That way you can make a good buy and enjoy the benefits for a long time. That’s what makes audio electronics like this fun to buy, because they should stand the test of time, barring any unforeseen disasters.

always buy my favorite earbuds, Skullcandy am though I will be trying out the Koss buds for the first time and btw, it's not 'cause of the Warranty... ahh eventhough, definitely it'll. When my buds break/loose sound -1 ear I simply discard them. Noticed it's not as expensive as a Koss ordinarily would be that's why I say "you get what you pay for it"..... thats' my theory, but I definitely will try them out. Been looking for skullcandy earbuds w/jack Right angle & can't seem to find them so I will try these. Support our American manufactures.
Thank you
Talk about lasting... Koss has a lifetime warranty. If they break there replaced. I had a pair of ur 40s for years then they b broke and koss replaced them no questions asked. I'm telling everyone I know to get them. And they are make in the US in Milwaukee. Support American buisness.
Never in my life I've spent more than $25 on a headphone, but after listening to my buddy's sony headphone I just had to get something better than my $12 JVC earphone. So I've been doing some research and this name 'Koss' pops up everywhere and people rave about it as the best headphone for the money. Look at it this way, I like the sound quality of the sony, but I ain't never paying what they're charging no matter how good their product. Many reviews are saying that Koss is on par with sony in many aspects and I gotta say I'm almost sold.
