Does Mela-D Really Work?

The line has been gaining in popularity, and the feedback we’ve found suggests that it does in fact live up to the hype. But like we always do we went further to see if there’s anything holding you back from trying it.

Dark spots can really detract from the rest of your beauty, and unless you’re Marilyn Monroe or Cindy Crawford and just have one spot that you can dub your beauty mark, it’s hard to justify having lots of them. Most skin conditioners, moisturizers, repair creams, and anti-aging products don’t address the matter of having dark spots, so we’re definitely due for a product that takes on this challenge.

The Claim
The Mela-D lineup makes several claims for each of the products, but the overriding one is that it helps to fade dark spots away. They also say they’re safe to use, can work in as little as two weeks, are clinical-strength, and that it can improve the skin’s radiance. If they just made a product that could take them away, that would be great, but this one also claims to do more for your skin than just get rid of dark spots. When you start increasing the number of things your product can do, you might make more sales but it could also backfire if it doesn’t live up to its touted benefits.

The Hype
People are definitely wondering if this works or not, as it’s one of the more popular search terms for a skin care product. When a product reaches the point where enough people are inquiring about it, there is hype surrounding it either from word-of-mouth recommendations between friends, or due to an effective advertising campaign. You’re also able to find this in stores, which can help build up brand awareness without the need to run promos on TV or the Internet.

The Cost
The Mela-D line is not cheap, but it is not so expensive that it can’t be used for the long term. Prices can range from around $20 to about $50 depending on which product you’re going with,

There are three core products in the Mela-D line, Pigment Control, Dark Spots, and Serum. Each has their own function and can be used separately or with one another for a comprehensive approach. We checked out each one individually to see what users had to say.

Pigment Control – This product fared the best between their different offerings, getting the strongest performance in its reviews. The most commonly like aspects of it are that it doesn’t have a fragrance, and that it is more highly concentrated than similar products on the market. Users also liked that it plays well with other products and doesn’t irritate or complicate the skin. They also said that it was very easy to apply, and didn’t require a lot of extra time and effort.

Dark Spots – This gets some mixed reviews, but it’s important to realize that because it’s not a prescription-strength product it does require some extra time to use. One of the features that made many users happy was that it contains SPF 15 which can help prevent future dark spots from arising and also helps the skin from getting damaged overall.

Serum – This one receives generally positive reviews. Some of the things that users like about it is the way it goes on quickly and smoothly and the way that it doesn’t leave a greasy residue behind. They say that it does help with dark spots in most instances, although for some users it was unable to help with their spots. Other features is that it helps to even out the look of the skin and give it more radiance.
