Does Migi Nail Art Really Work?

Rate this post

Migi Nail Art is a nail design tool that is supposed to make it easier for you to add clever designs to your fingernails. It would be great if a set like this could help you avoid the salon, or at least reduce your dependence on it, so let’s see how well it works.

Overview
Nail art is a way to express yourself and also to start a conversation. Nothing gets quite as many compliments as a unique set of nails, and you can adjust the designs depending the season or special occasion. It can really become a part of your overall image and identity, and those who know you might come to realize that this is just a part of who you are. Your coworkers and friends might end up looking forward to the next design you come up with.

The Claim
Migi Nail Art says that it’s a way for you to make quick and easy nail art through their dual action pens. One side of the pen applies a coat of polish, while the other side of the pen lets you drill down to a smaller pen sized applicator so you can basically draw right on your nail and make designs that you simply can’t with a nail polish brush.

There aren’t many over-the-top claims being made here, and they’re basically letting the designs speak for themselves. The only real question is whether you’ll be able to replicate the designs they have on display at their website. Some of them are rather intricate and would require a steady hand and the patience of a saint. It might be a good idea to make sure you have a passion for this before jumping on board with it.

The Hype
The hype comes in the form of all of the intricate and creative nail designs that are shown as examples of what you can do with this. Obviously, skill sets vary, and since this is not a cookie-cutter design tool, you’ll need to be able to do these freehand. While the pen design might make it easier, it won’t make it foolproof, so be sure to set your expectations at a reasonable level.

The Cost
Migi Nail Art comes in 4 different sets of colors including matte, neon, pastel, and shimmer. Each set is $25. If you register your set they’ll send you free refills, you just cover shipping of $4. Overall, the prices seem quite reasonable, especially when you consider the refill program. Even if you bought all four sets you’d be looking at $100 and you’d have a ton of different colors to choose from, not to mention your maintenance costs would be very low since you could get refills for $4 indefinitely.

The Commitment
The concept behind this is that you can make your own attractive nail art without having to pay a professional the high prices they charge. But at the same time this is a DIY system so you are shouldering the responsibility of making it turn out the way you want it to, and provide yourself with good looking results. This can add stress to the equation, especially if you’re not the kind of person that is typically good with these kinds of artistic endeavors.

Evaluation
Migi Nail Art is a pretty unique way for you to gain control over what goes on your fingernails. If you’re not too creative you can always steal some idea from those that have shared their designs, or use celebrities for inspiration. You can also look at their official website for some examples. The fun part is that if you mess up you can always remove the polish and start over, so it’s easy enough to practice until you get the hang of it. You can also enlist the services of a friend and help each other out by doing each others nails.

The important thing to note is that almost everyone that we’ve seen that has tried it has said that while there is a bit of a learning curve, given enough practice they were able to make a nice design and they felt that this was something they could use over the long term as part of their nail art solution.

Final Migi Nail Art Review

Migi Nail Art is getting our Thumbs Up rating due to the fact that you’re getting value for your dollar, there

is an extensive amount of instructional information out there, and many users say they prefer it over competing products. This is one way to start to form your own impressive kit of nail products, and over time you could build it up to increase your range of options when it comes to different designs. Before long you might even be able to start doing your friend’s nails for a small fee.

Our Recommendation
If you’ve always wondered how you can start getting more creative with your nails and your nail polish, or are tired of paying high prices to have someone else do it for you, this is worth looking into. For less than the cost of one salon visit you can try out one of their color sets to see how you like it. Since you’ll be getting a mix of colors no matter which set you choose, you’ll be able to make a good amount of different designs, and can decide if it’s worth getting refills or not.
