Does Posit Science Brain Fitness Program Really Work?

Rate this post

Everybody’s looking for the edge these days and the Posit Science Brain Fitness Program promises to help you think better. Ever since they came out with Brain Age for the Nintento DS it seems more and more of these brain training programs are emerging. As baby boomers enter their later years, more and more people will be looking for ways to stave off mental decline in hopes of keeping their wits about them and avoiding Alzheimer’s disease. But can a program like this really do anything that creates a measurable difference in your life?

Overview
The brain comes with all of the cells it will ever have, and as we age they die off or are killed off by the things we do to our brain, like drinking excessive amounts of alcohol. It’s a natural process, and many people believe that because of this it’s harder to learn new things as we get older, like languages, or just information in general. The most severe cases include senility in old age, where you can’t remember what room you were just in, or Alzheimers, where the brain jumps from past to present and you lose track of who you are.

The Claim
The Posit Science Brain fitness program says that it can help with the different aspects of how you take in and process information. This includes things like auditory and visual acuity, being able to remember what you see and hear with better accuracy, as well as being able to drive better.

They’re specifically targeting the baby boomer generation by citing this data from one of their clinical studies: 90% of people aged 65+ attained processing speeds typical of people under age 40. This will definitley be something that catches the eye of the 50 and up club.

From their product page:

Designed by top scientists, Posit Science’s brain training software programs speed up and sharpen the brain from the roots up. They are clinically proven by independent researchers to help people think faster, focus better, and remember more. These improvements help you be your best for whatever matters to you—at work, with family and friends, in life.

The Hype
The hype comes from so many new brain training programs hitting the market for all sorts of portable devices and home entertainment systems like the Wii and the PS3 as well as the PC and Mac. It’s really developing into it’s own niche.

The Cost
At nearly $200 they’re not messing around. For this price, this software better work. They say it’s clinically proven and award winning, and it would have to be, or else people would not tolerate paying this much money and seeing little, if any results.

Many online retailers give a 30 day money back guarantee, and lots of digital products come with a 60 day guarantee, but Posit Brain comes with a full 90 days to try it out and measure results. So many times we see companies that don’t give you ample time to try their products out, which only creates stress. Three months time should be plenty to see noticeable results after continued use of their methods.

The Commitment
You have to commit yourself to actually using the software, taking part in the games and activities, and basically using your brain. The old adage use it or lose it is especially apt when it comes to your brain power, and the Posit Science Brain Fitness Program is designed to amplify this effect.

Evaluation
Be sure to check the system requirements, as many baby boomers aren’t too computer savvy and usually don’t update their equipment unless they desperately need to. You might be running a system that can’t handle it, causing everything on your computer to run slow or crash, and causing the application to not function the way it’s supposed to. If you’re going to drop the money on this one you want to make sure you get the full, unhindered experience.

Few can argue that the system is laid out pretty well, with all of the different processes laid out in step by step format. It’s easy to get started, and also to track your progress throughout. This is good not only for you, but also for the makers of Posit Brain because the proof is right there that you’re making progress and able to do more mentally than you could before. Few people will take them up on their guarantee when they see the kind of results they’re getting and will want to stay on for the long term.

It’s important to realize that this isn’t going to turn you into the next Einstein, but it seems to be able to improve your brain functioning, especially if you’ve noticed that you’re not quite as sharp as you once were. It’s a way to bring your back to your former ability, and also to bump you up to more of your potential if you stick with it long enough and push yourself.

This is one of those products that has a lot to do with the user, as far as user experience goes. If you get excited about it and get into it and keep an open mind, you’ll know doubt get a good amount of value from it. If you go into it like a grumpy old man or woman and think that there’s no way to teach an old dog new tricks, you’ll probably give up in frustration before you see any signs of progress.

Final Posit Science Brain Fitness Program Review

Posit Science Brain Fitness Program is high quality software, but whether or not it works is really up to

you to decide. What’s more subjective than the brain itself? What works on one brain won’t work on another, and therefore you just have to try it out and see if it clicks for you. The price may be on the high side, but if the results are there, it’s a drop in the bucket when it comes to mental health and longevity. You’ve got a lot more years to enjoy, and you want to be alert and remember them.

Our Recommendation
The way we look at it is that the tool itself is sound, and therefore we are going to recommend the Posit Brain system, and encourage you to give it your full attention while using it. Go into it with set expectations because at this price you want to get value for your money. Set yourself a goal for how much you want to improve, and reach for that goal, whether it be remember people’s names more easily, or being able to remember what you heard or what you saw. If you give it an honest attempt and still don’t see any improvement, then you can return it with a clean conscience, knowing you gave it your best try, and it just wasn’t for you.

What do you think? Does Posit Science Brain Fitness Program work or not?

  • for $200 i can't see many people taking this up. That's really expensive! I can't see this doing anything different to the likes of the nintendo games, or in fact any of the brain training games you can find on the internet. It's just all about keeping your brain active. $200 is a lot of money for some quiz questions!

    • I agree with you with regards of its high price tag. I just don’t know if it’s worth it when there are other “quality” alternatives out there. I’m hoping to find a great trial version to try out first, since this seems to be affecting how people decide. If the software is truly award winning, I really want to see what those reviews and criticisms are. How does it stand apart from the rest? I’m in the market to buying software in this niche, so I hope someone can provide more info to help me decide between this and some cheaper or free alternatives.
