Does the Purse Mate Really Work?

Rate this post

The Purse Mate might not seem like much at first glance, but it is often the simple looking inventions that have the most success. It solves a common problem that most women have of where to put your purse when you’re out on the town, or when you’re at work. But can something so small really hold up a purse, and does it really work at keeping your purse out of the way?

Overview
If you’ve ever been in the situation, either at a bar, a club, or out to dinner where you didn’t have a really good place to put your purse, you probably wished you had a way to hang it up out of the way, and off the floor. And at dinner, it’s not as if you can put your purse on the table, so you usually have to figure out how to hang in on the back of a chair, or how to share a seat with it. Worst case scenario you have to put it on the floor where it gets dirty, and gets kicked around by your feet.

The Claim
The Purse Mate claims that its steel design is durable enough to hold up purses that weigh as much as 30 pounds. So even if you have a Mary Poppins purse full of God knows what, it should still be able to hold it, but be sure to check the stability of the table to withstand that much weight on one end. They say that it comes in handy at restaurants, at work, and anywhere else it becomes awkward to store your purse.

The Hype
There’s not too much hype behind this, because most people don’t know about it. You might have seen it in stores and wondered if it really could work. You’d think that more women would be grabbing this because it is a pretty universal problem, and an easy fix that is light and portable, and stores in the very thing you are trying to find a place for.

The Cost
Purse Mate can be found pretty cheaply, both online and in retail stores offline. Keep your eye out for it and pick it up if you get the chance.

The Commitment
All that you need to do is put this in your purse and wait for the next time you have a situation where your purse needs somewhere to go. It’s easy enough to put it in place and the next thing you know your purse is hung up and out of the way and you can get on with your date, or your day.

Evaluation
When we first saw the Purse Mate we have to admit we weren’t too impressed with it, but kept an open mind and tried it out anyway. To our surprise it does exactly what you’d want it to do, and attaches in an instant, and unattached just as quickly. They didn’t put a bunch of gizmos on this and make it all complicated, it’s a very simple design, with an emphasis on function over style points, although they did affix a little rhinestone to it so it’s not just stainless steel staring back at you.

They say that this is getting 5 star reviews for its effectiveness, and we can see why. Out of all the products we test, the more complex a product is the higher the likelihood that it will flop in the real world, when real people put it to the test. It is these small gadgets, with few or no movable parts that usually end up working like a charm. Simplicity can be a virtue, especially if functionality is still in place. Bling it up with some plastic jewels and it’s good to go.

Final Purse Mate Review

The Purse Mate is a real handy invention that you can keep in your purse and use when

you need it. At this price point it makes sense just to grab it and have it in case you need it, rather than needing it and not having it. It’s not really a question of whether it works, because it does and we’ve got the proof in the video above, but whether or not the need for it will come up, and when it does if you’ll remember that you have the solution in your purse.

Our Recommendation
We picked this up on a whim because of the price, and we’re really glad we did, it was the best impulse purchase we’ve made this year, and we’ve used it repeatedly while out to dinner, and at the office. It’s not going to change your world, but it will be one less thing you have to think about, and might possibly stop your purse from being stolen or left behind.

What do you think? Does the Purse Mate work or not?

  • When the joke is on you, people find it very
humorous. So many people are timid about giving away their private numbers that before you ask, you need to be assured that you have established a strong level
of trust and perceived intimacy. The night after prom during our senior year, the
two of us were partying at a friends place.

  • I received the Purse Mate as a gift. I love mine. It attaches to any table, countertop or hard surface and keeps your purse off the floor. Another great place to use the Purse Mate is at a park. Your purse dangles from the picnic table off the dirty ground. I pay good money for my purses and some restaurants floors can be greasy leaving a stain on your purse. This eliminate any fear of this happening and it tucks away in your purse for easy storage. I plan on getting several of these to give away for gifts as all my friends always rave about mine when I pull it out to use.

  • I really like this product! It’s funny, my mom has always carried a version of one of these. Hers is very small, metal and does not affix like this item. However it’s a lot more discreet! I would definitely use this if I could do so with no one really noticing. Otherwise, I think it would be weird to whip this out in public! If anything, it could draw more attention to your bag just because people will want to more about the interesting contraption holding it! This would actually be a great gift for older ladies! They are constantly concerned about their purse or handbag and it would be easier for them to keep track of it and keep it close by!

  • It's a neat idea and I really like it. The last thing you wanna do is to put your $1000 handbag on a dirty floor but sometimes do you really have a choice? It's small enough to carry and it's a simple idea that just works.

  • This seems like a cool enough product, definitely interesting, but I might feel awkward using it at first. ha ha. Suddenly pulling out a hook to hang your purse would no doubt get some questions or strange looks, but if it keeps my purse clean... :) I would be worried about someone just taking it from the hook if I wasn't paying enough attention, whereas you'd feel it if someone tried to heist it from your chair. I like that it's girly looking though with the little rhinestone. While it's not something I would use, as I've never before had a problem with where to put my purse, I think many women could benefit from this product. And if it's cheap, why not?
