Does the Soothing Wrap Really Work?

Rate this post

The Soothing Wrap is a warm wrap that is filled with aromatherapy herbs that is designed to give you a spa-like experience whenever you need it. It’s supposed to be microwavable and ready at a moment’s notice, but how well does it actually work?

Overview
Having aching an aching neck and shoulders is a growing problem in our modern world with so many of us hunched over a computer or confined to one place for most of the day. It can be pretty debilitating to have a kink in your neck, or have a shoulder that is causing you pain. Using a heat pack can do the trick of warming up the muscles enough to relax, but that entails trying to keep the pack in place on a part of the body that is rounded and curved and hard to treat.

The Claim
The makers of the Soothing Wrap say that it can help you relax by providing soothing warmth where you really need it, all along your shoulder and neck. They say it’s microwavable and heats up in just a minute, holding that heat so you can get the relief you need. It is also filled with herbs to provide aromatherapy benefits.

The Hype
The hype is that many of us can relate to waking up with an aching neck or sore shoulders, and would love the idea of being wrapped in a soothing warm blanket. This may turn out to be like the Snuggie craze, where people first saw it and thought it was silly, but then tried it and liked it and it caught on from there. While you probably wouldn’t want any of your friends to catch you in this, it doesn’t take away the fact that it looks pretty darn comfy.

The Cost
Your total comes to $36 and you end up with two Soothing Wraps in the same color, as well as a blue Snuggie. The blue Snuggie

is selling online at ACE Hardware for $5 so you have to consider that it’s not much of a bonus. The real question is whether the wraps are worth $18 each. We looked for similar products but there’s really nothing out there that is making the same claims.

The Commitment
The wrap is microwavable, so you’re only 30 seconds to a minute away from using it at any given point in time. This is good because if you had to wait awhile for it to heat up it wouldn’t be good. You can stay in it as long as you want, and it’s designed to hold the heat for long periods of time. If you want to continue wearing it but the heat has dissipated, you can simply reheat it in the microwave again.

Evaluation
The Soothing Wrap doesn’t just stop at being a wrap, it’s filled with herbs that have been proven to induce the body into a relaxed state. When you combine the heat therapy you’re getting with the smells that it has it is a sort of one-two punch on your stress levels. It’s true that you could still feel stressed and tense while wearing this, but you are less likely to feel that way when you have it on.

They make a good point that with conventional heating pads you’re tethered by a cord and if you need to get up to do anything you have to take it off. With these wraps you have mobility and can pretty much go where you need to go without losing

your Zen status. The heating in the microwave should also activate the herbs inside of it, but after some time they’ll probably be worn out from all of the heating and reheating. The ability of the wrap to get and stay warm should last a long time though.

Final Soothing Wrap Review

The Soothing Wrap makes its case and this is not a bad offer, especially if you experience pain and cramping in the upper part of your body on a regular basis. The combination of heat therapy mixed with the aromatherapy is a good idea, and one that you will likely turn to again and again for warmth and comfort. This would be really nice in the colder months, and when combined with the included Snuggie you’re going to feel pretty good.

Our Recommendation
We have yet to see another wrap that makes the same claims and provides the kind of comfort that these wraps do. For the price it’s not bad, and with the included fleece Snuggie and shipping included in a $36 package it’s not a bad deal. Snuggies might not be worth as much as they once were, but the fact that it really is a free add on and you don’t have to pay additional shipping for it makes it an actual bonus.
