Does Sure Clip Really Work?

Rate this post

If you’re tired of using conventional nail clippers to clip your toenails, the makers of Sure Clip say they have the answer. They’ve designed a pair of nail clippers that try to address all of the common complaints people have when cutting their nails. This is an example of a product that satisfies a very particular niche, so let’s see how well they executed the idea.

Overview
Clipping your toenails can be a pain, both literally and figuratively. Traditional nail clippers leave a lot to be desired. All sorts of things can go wrong, you can cut too much of your nail off, or cut into the skin next to your nail. And when you clip your toenails, they can go flying, only for you to discover at a later date when you step on them, or even worse, if you have company over and they find them. As we get older, it gets harder to see that far, and this compounds the problem of cutting your toenails.

The Claim
They say it’s the world’s most advanced nail clipper, and they might be right. There’s not a lot of companies trying to compete in that market niche, so it isn’t too big of a stretch of the imagination to think that this is the best nail clipper you can buy. Here are some of the features that help back up their claim:

It has a wide, rubberized, non-slip grip so you don’t have sore fingers when you try to cut thick nails. The blades are made of professional-grade stainless steel, so they can cut through tough nails easily. There’ a magnifying glass with a light so you can see what you’re cutting.

They say that you’ll get a clean, precise cut every time because of the extra wide blade, and that you won’t make a mess because it catches all of your clippings while you cut. Just empty the clip tray when you’re done.

An infomercial with a British twist:
The Hype
They definitely over-exaggerate just how bad it is to clip your toenails. Yes, it’s a chore, and yes you can do some damage to yourself by pulling a nail too far and causing an ingrown toenail. But when done properly it’s only a minor inconvenience that comes around a few times a month. Is it worth making an entire product around?

The Cost
The official site is offering you a two for one bonus for $10 plus shipping and handling for both units, putting your total cost of $24. You also get some bonuses thrown in to sweeten the deal.

The Commitment
All of us have to cut our nails regularly so there isn’t any big commitment here, just replace your old nail clippers with the Sure Clip and use it whenever you cut your nails. It’s supposed to make the process easier, and therefore quicker, so you won’t have to spend as much time on this task.

Evaluation
Sure Clip comes in only one size so you it would be nice if they would include a smaller-sized clipper for doing the fingers. No one has complained about how well it works at clipping nails.

The common complaint is that the magnifying glass just gets in the way, and doesn’t help as much as you’d think it does. For those that can’t see that far away, it might help, but the way it is placed right in your field of view, it seems to do more harm than good. It is removable, so there’s no point in suffering with it if you don’t find it useful.

One part of

the Sure Clip that doesn’t live up to expectations is its clippings catcher. It doesn’t catch all of the nails that fly off your toes. It catches most of them but you will still find the errant nail that gets away.

Final Sure Clip Review

All in all the Sure Clip delivers on its promises, and you’d be hard pressed to find a more advanced nail clipper. If you go with the premium upgrade you might have the most sophisticated nail removal system on Earth. It’s almost too sophisticated though, and some people complain that all its bells and whistles get in the way, but they all agree it’s a quality clipper.

Our Recommendation
You should get a Sure Clip, it’s priced right and will definitely prevent the sore fingers you get from trying to use regular nail clippers.

What do you think? Does Sure Clip work or not?

  • when the light gave out on my clipper I replaced the battery, (after checking the battery,) but it didn't work. I therefore assumed the lamp had burned out but how do you replace the lamp?

  • I bought my Sure Clip at the Dollar store for a dollar. The magnifying glass works okay, but can be a nuisance. The clippers work just like any other clippers. I used these twice and broke. I can't complain to much as I only paid a dollar. I think it's a gimmick too as I wouldn't ever purchase another one, but I thought I would try it for a dollar.

  • Quite frankly the magnifying glass and light is a gimmick that could be done without.
However, the extra wide blade and the clippings tray is a great addition.
Both of those address my main problems with traditional nail clippers but now all is solved :)

Overall i'm happy i got one, but as i say, in my opinion, the magnifying glass and light is pointless.
