Overview
The things that are taught in The Secret are nothing new, and the concepts have been around for ages. So how did this come about and take the world by storm? The answer lies in the clever packaging and marketing that went into it. Even naming it The Secret led people to think they were being given privileged information.
The Claim
The big claim in The Secret is that you can harness the power of having your own Genie by simply thinking about what you want and sending out positive vibes with your mind. They quickly tell you that The Secret is the Law of Attraction.
The rest of the video and the book goes on to state how you can use the Law of Attraction to get whatever you want, from products to relationships, to health, and even mundane things like parking spaces.
The Hype
The Secret used hype to its advantage better than any other product on the Earth before it. Everyone was talking about it and telling each other about it via word of mouth.
The funny thing is that for most people all of the hype and excitement died down and people were left wondering why all of their positive thoughts weren’t producing the magical results promised in the video.

The Commitment
Most people did not commit to what is taught enough to see any measurable results. The quick fix mentality of most consumers means that they would have to see results the same day or the next day in order to be able to say that it worked for them.
If you follow what is talked about in the video for only an hour or a day and then go back to your old ways and habits, you’ll never see any results, just like with a workout program.
Few people have the determination and will power to see this program through to fruition. It takes time for things to happen, especially when all of your life you have been living on auto pilot and thinking negative thoughts. You’ve built up strong habits in negativity, so it takes time to unravel these layers and to truly start thinking positive most of the time.
Evaluation
Like with most systems, the more users that try it the greater the chance of negative feedback, and many people will state that it did not work for them. This is exactly the mentality that will keep these people from what they want in life, they will try to get what they want for a very short time, they won’t take any action, and then they will give up and say it doesn’t work.
The basic tenets of The Secret are sound. If you follow what is shown in the video,
and apply it in your own life, not just for a few hours or days, but every day for the rest of your life, things will happen that you never dreamed would. You just have to stick to it and be willing to change the way you currently think, and what you currently believe. Our Recommendation
The Secret is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the study of the Law of Attraction. There is a lot to learn, and many things you can do to increase the chance at having success with it. You’re living with this law anyway, the same way you’re living with the law of gravity, so it’s best to know as much as you can about it, so you can get the best effect from it.

Read Napolean Hill's The Seven Laws of Success. Written in 1928, it reviews the reason for millionaire's success such as Henry Ford, The Carnegie Family, etc. It also reviews why people fail. The book Think and Grow Rich was written in a more concise format. It is about the positive attitude, but so much more! It's a whole lot better than The Secret.
There's much more to the Secret than just positive thinking. I agree with this review because it IS like a workout program. You have to be committed to changing the way you think and your thinking HABITS. That takes a long time to master. I think it really works though because I've witnessed people getting what they want by following these rules!
