XZilon Car Care

Xzilon is presented as a way to get your car looking and keeping it that way. It says that it works on a molecular level, and we’ve seen these sorts of claims before for other car products, so does this one deliver?

What Is Xzilon?

Xzilon is a molecular adhesion vehicle exterior paint protection product. This product was initially designed to meet the requirements of the aerospace industry. Xzilon consists of carbon polymeric coating, which is permanent once applied.

Who Makes Xzilon?

Xzilon Care Care

The company that produces this product is called Xzilon. The company was recently acquired by Kevin Kahmann and is now part of Caring Brands Companies. Xzilon is accredited by the better business bureau and the companies products are compliant in all 50 USA states as well as Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The product is produced in the USA.

What Is The Difference Between Xzilon And Other Vehicle Exterior Paint Protectors?

Youtube

The biggest difference is the strength that Xzilon has. Once this permanent paint protector is applied to your vehicle’s exterior paint surface, the product provides resistance against environmental contaminants, abrasives, severe weather conditions, and chemicals.

Environmentally Friendly

Xzilon environmentally friendly

With so many people today concerned about our environment, it is important to know that Xzilon is environmentally friendly. It is also adult, children and pet-friendly. It is non-flammable and has very little odor.

What Is The Finish Like?

Xzilon provides an ultra high-gloss finish and is safe for all surfaces. This product provides the best possible protection for exterior paint finishes, with little build-up. Touch-ups are quick and easy.

Why Is It So Important To Have Xzilon Exterior Paint Protection?

Paint lost softness years ago when lead was removed from the automobile paint. Today, the paint that is used on automobiles is much thinner than it used to be. It is powder-coated paint. Using this product adds luster, flexibility and softness to the paint. Dent repairs are much easier when this product has been applied. Paint chipped happens less frequently. Using an exterior paint protection provides treated surfaces long term protection. The product has been tested on 400 degrees surface temperature, 1,300 of saltwater spray and wind speeds of over 400 mph.

What Are The Benefits To Using Xzilon?

There are many benefits associated with using Xzilon. Some of the benefits are:

  • Higher resale value – 15 – 20% with treatment
  • Provides an anti-static finish
  • Repels dirt
  • Repels dust
  • Repels pollen

Customer Reviews

Xzilon Reviews

There is quite a mix of customer reviews regarding Xzilon on Amazon. The product has received a 2.5 star out of 5-star rating. The product purchased on Amazon is a DIY. Keep in mind if the customers didn’t apply it properly, this could be the reason it may have failed. Some comments from Amazon customers are:

“great product”

“I had paid to put it on one car. When I found it on line I did better job for a lot less money. This product is the greatest thing for any car. It is easier to apply then car wax. It doesn’t tell you but you should apply it 2 times on all surfaces of the exterior including the glass.”

Here is a comment from Jeremy Vizzi, from Executive Detail:

“One of my regular clients bought it off ebay and asked me to apply it to his vehicle. I think it’s been about 3 months now and it still beads like it was treated yesterday. I don’t know much about it, but at least I can watch how it performs closely. Despite some of the negatives I’ve heard about it, it really doesn’t seem to be a bad product. I will also say that the bugs and sap seem to wipe off without ANY problems. I don’t think it’s worth paying the dealership that kind of price, but to buy it MUCH cheaper and apply it yourself, would definitely be better. At first I was a little skeptical, but it does seem to be holding up right now. Again, it’s only been a few months. So we’ll see.”

Recommendations

As with any product, personal evaluation works best. Some people have great experiences with Xzilon and others not so much. Maybe trying it on a small engine machine first to see how it fares may be a good idea, before investing in hundreds of dollars through dealerships.

  1. Here’s an insider look at how this product is applied at our dealership. This is exactly the process the xzilon representative trained me and my co-workers for applying this trash to your vehicle paint. First step is to wash the vehicle. The next step is to mix xzilon 50/50 with WATER and put it into a fogger. Apply the xzilon with the fogger and wipe dry. The representative tried to pass this off as a ceramic coating. This is not a ceramic coating, but more of a teflon coating. I have applied true ceramic coatings on numerous vehicles and never have I diluted it with water. And who applies coatings with a fogger?? The proper way to coat a vehicle is wash, decontaminate, cut and buff the paint, IPA wash, and finally, apply the coating using a crosshatch pattern ensuring an even and level coat. This product is snake oil at best. I wouldn’t recommend applying this to a bicycle, let alone a vehicle.

  2. My wife and I purchased new cars at the same time and opted to have Xzilon applied. Within three months the paint was damaged on both cars from bugs, not rock chips or anything else. When we eventually got someone to respond to us for the warranty claim, which, by the way, required us filing a complain with BBB, they wanted to send us to have our brand new cars repainted by Maaco. After fighting with them over that, we had concerns about value on a repainted car that was brand new and our dealer suggesting waiting to get he work done since the cars were only 3 months old, the Xzilon rep confirmed the dealership’s statement. But their corporate office said that wasn’t possible, so we asked if we could get the approved amount as a payment and we’d get the work done when we were ready, if the cost increased, we would absorb that increase. They agreed but 5 months later they are avoiding our calls, not responding to emails, and we’ve received nothing from them. Their product is trash and the company essentially has stolen our money. Good luck if you give them your money.

  3. This is a waste of money. The salesman at the dealership really sold it up telling me how it would protect against paint chips and tears and stains and rips and anything else that could damage my car like Bird poo. Turns out that it’s a complete waste and it does not do anything for paint chips. It will not cover tears in the Center counsel. It will not cover door dings and when they call you and let you know that your claim has been denied the lady tells you that it’s all in the contract that you signed which is true in very very small font much smaller than the rest of it and the contract is very lengthy. I’m not sure whether the dealership is to fault here or the company but don’t waste your money.

  4. Liquid glass or any other product does not carry the application warranty. I don’t offer this product but do something similar. The warranty that comes with it is what you are paying for.

  5. It’s a paint insurance program. If your paint chips the dealer repaints it. They are betting most people won’t bother to file a claim.

Liquid Glass is a similar product (polymers sealant) for about $22 a can.

  6. I had this stuff pushed on me when I bought my car at a dealership. Why does my entire car look
like it was put on over a dirty car. Permanent spots all over the car and windows. No amount of washing or waxing will remove it. If the car had permanent spotting before this stuff was put on, why would somebody apply it over the spots? Spoke to the company who told me it was acid rain. Had to be some very selective acid rain and that the only way to get rid of these spots all over the entire car is to have the paint stripped and have the car repainted. If Saturday Night Live needs some new comedians, I have a recommendation.

  7. I have a 2019 jetta “BLACK!” it was about 3 months before the weather was decent enough to get it in to do the Xzilon . It’s a beautiful finish I can drive it in the rain park at work and the rain pretty much washes it off. Much easier to keep clean. You can feel the difference when you wipe your hand across it. I love it Napelton Volkswagen did the work.

  8. I had this product applied professionally at a dealership and it absolutely does work!! It has kept my paint so flawless I haven’t needed a buff in 3 years. I highly recommend it for the interior Stains do not settle on your fabric they literally wipe off. This is the premier way of protecting your car.

  9. Just another scam! Bought a brand new car and wanted to protect it so I purchased this coating for 799 from the dealer. I cant get water spots off the car, paint has faded and the inside has leather falling apart and fading. I have never had a car that has done this. I have had other treatments done and you can smell it and see the car shine. I had to question if they even did it! This stuff is a scam. Dont ever buy it from the dealer. They are just looking to make a few hundred bucks!

  10. Neither Xzilon or any other product can protect against bird poop. Its basically acid. TIP: If you see bird poop on your car, wash it off that same day. Never, ever wait to remove it or it will destroy your paint.

  11. So i received this for free, on my white CLS 550, should i be worried that it will damage my car?

  12. If you have this product applied do they cover scratches because you put it onyour car or is that some other part of the warenty

  13. After reading numerous reviews, my main concern is water spots. Seems the sooner I get a quality polish applied, I should be able to avoid the problem. Can I apply polish, and if I can, how soon after the Xzilon was applied? It’s been 24 hours.I’d like to do it today.

  14. I paid to have this done to my vehicle I bought 14 months ago. I can tell you the company makes you jump through hoop after hoop only to be denied time and time again. This coverage is absolutely worthless and does nothing except rip you off. Within a month you will have water spots! Within two months of a normal vehicle you will have dings and dents of some sorts because we live in the real world. The company continues to say it is either too deep, or not covered because there is a nick which means paint damage and they don’t cover paint damage, etc., etc., etc., THIS IS A HUGE SCAM THAT DEALERSHIPS USE TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF THE BUYER AND WORTHLESS CRAP!

  15. I purchased Xzilon Green + limited term warranty for my new 2016 Toyota Prius. The product has not protected my car’s finish and Xzilon Green denied my claim. This product is worthless and Xzilon Green is a scam. Please do not waste your hard-earned money on this product or service.

  16. Got it done at the dealership when I bought my new 2008 Lexus RX350. Cost about $500 and it’s completely worth it. My 10-year-old car still has that glossy shine and none of the swirl marks that you see even on hand washed cars. It also requires fewer washes than my other car that does not have the coating. Of course, after a wash if you leave water drops on the vehicle you WILL see water marks. That’s not the fault of the coating, it’s just the Calcium and Magnesium in hard water. I recommend the Xzialon coating.

  17. Of course it is not worth $500 for a simonize job. However I did get some dings in my car through my own fault and that of others. The company hired local people to come out to my house and fix these minor dents, at no charge to me. That alone is worth the price. Now I have a claim pending for cleaning stains on my leather on my four and a half year old car. By the way the finish on the car still looks good. Can’t say if it is due to the product or the factory clear coat.

So the warranty is what you pay for and it has been worth the initial expenditure.

  18. I was one of those poor idiots who was paid by a dealership to apply Xzilon. I can tell you this, it takes WAY MORE than 30-45 minutes to do it. Because the car has to be washed and detailed before the application. Most dealership cars are garbage and come in scratched. Most Xzilon jobs I did were 2-5 hours, depending on the condition of the vehicle.

  19. Xzilon is a rip off. Xzilon is $14 for bottle on line, $700 at most dealerships if they apply it and my Lincoln dealership (Central Florida Lincoln) charged me over $2000 ! ? !

It seems to be no different than “NuFinish” which is over 20 years old and cost about $10 a bottle. I filed a compliant with State Attorney General Pam Bondi about 2 months ago and so far nothing has happened. Dealer will not even call me back. Lincoln – Ford Company claim no responsibility for Xzilon as this is allegedly a dealer fraud issue NOT directly offered by Lincoln or Ford.

Report Xzilon fraud issues to your State Attorney General by e-mail. This must be stopped.

  20. YOU ONLY SAY THIS CRAP BECAUSE YOU WORK FOR THEM. DO RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING THIS PRODUCT. BUYER BEWARE!!!

  21. Louis I have been detailing for over 15 years .Honestly I have owned the company working with sometimes 6 dealerships at once. I have applied this aftermarket for many years. It is nothing more than wax. I always felt bad for the people buying it. But I was hired to just apply it. they actually pay the detailer, some experienced and some not, $50 per car. You might as well not put anything at all! You might take pride in your work and I’m not taking anything away from that but lets get real.. The product does not protect the cars! You are only buying the warranty! It is applied like wax, we spray the interior with the “fabric protection” (like air freshener) and wipe the leather with this so called “leather protection”.

  22. Horrible claims. Product does not work. Made claim, dealership could not get water spots out of paint nor stains out of interior. Now Xzilon wants all new pictures of the damage and asking same questions as before. When did it happen what did you do to try and get rid of the spots. BIG WASTE OF MONEY. So upset, we have been trying to settle a claim for 4 months. It is no wonder why the dealership no longer uses this product.

  23. I bought a 2016 Buick Regal and the dealer already had applied the coating.
I drive a hundred miles a day back and fourth to work and All I can say is does not protect your car from scratches and chips and water spots forget about it. The thing that sucks is my car is black. It just some more BS to get more money out of you. So don’t waste your money.

  24. Thanks Patrick for your review, I am very happy I said “No” on this thing last week when purchased my new car.

  25. The stuff is just so so.. At $599.00 for a dealer to put it on I can have the car completely detailed and Blue Coral or McGuired had waxed 8.4 times at $75.00 per time. ill stick with the paste and hand wash and wax.. Just my thoughts !

  26. I had this product applied at the Jaguar dealer when I bought the car, it’s a 2008 model and the finish is like new. I had a few door dings which were fixed at the dealership by a contractor who did a beautiful job. Water beads on the whole car and there are no water spots at all. Recently I was buying gas during a rainstorm and the car was beads up and the finish was shining under the station lights, the customer at the next pump walked over to tell me that he thought my car was the most beautiful vechical he had seen in “many moons”, not bad for a 9 year old car!

  27. I got this thrown in with my maintenance plan after over an hour of wheeling (and battling steeling) with the finance guy when I bought my 370Z at a major Nissan dealership in Phoenix (I won’t mention the name so you know I’m no shill). They washed the car and supposedly applied this twice a year (every other maintenance, per my plan) for entire time I owned the car (platinum graphite color). Apart from a couple very minor 1 or so inch scrapes (I ran alongside my nephew’s car in my driveway once) and a couple barely noticeable chips in the hood, the car’s paint looked brand new when I sold it after 5 years of ownership. I hardly ever washed the car myself, usually just waiting until the next scheduled maintenance, and the car almost always looked like it was just washed. One time I came out of work almost thinking someone detailed it while I was inside, and couldn’t tell it was still dirty until I ran a finger across the paint an saw all the dust. The color may have some affect on this but I think it was mostly the protectant. Is it expensive? Yeah, but I negotiated a pretty good deal and it seemed worth it. Will anything protect you from scratches and dings? No way… minor scuffs and light scratches perhaps but thinking any product will prevent a dent is just naive. After trading it in for my BMW M3 do I miss that paint? Sure do… I may have tired of the color eventually, but I constantly got compliments on how clean it was, even if it was filthy, and now I seem like I wash my car all the time and have nowhere near the curb appeal for very long afterwards, even with a painstaking hand wax with a well-regarded product. I have to mention that I never got waterspots either, even though it seems impossible to me that hard water was prevented from etching due to this or any product, I have to admit it never happened (and I was damn lazy with my washing) and I can’t say the same for my current, unprotected vehicle. I’m currently looking into having a detail shop treat my current car with this or a similar product. When I shelled out for it when buying the car I thought, feh, no way… it’s probably just a good wax but at least they’ll wash it for me. However whatever the magic was in my case (that dealership always had great staff so maybe that was it) it worked wonders on that car. Just had to chime in. I miss that gloss.

  28. I had this done on my 2013 F-150 in Race Red color. This was done in April 2013. I live in North Georgia and the truck sits outside. It works great, my neighbor asks me if I wash it every week because it looks so good. The rain washes of any dirt on it and it shines like new. I am totally satisified with the function on the exterior. Not so happy with the interior treatment. I know the detailer that did the application and the work that he does. Maybe his good work is why it is so good. It is way over 3 years and still looks good. I was it 2 times a year after my mountain camping trips.

  29. Rip off our dealership told us tree sap, bird droppins it if won’t clean up with a light wash they would replace the paint. Now that’s what I want my brand new car painted. They said the same about our brused lether seats if a stain won’t come out they will replace the seat that’s stained. the product stained the seats they keep telling us it the lighting that makes the brushed leather look that way. The finish on our new car is ruined the product attacked our clear coat. One body shop told us our car had been wet sanded and they sanded thru the clear coat. the dealership denied it! They got us for $699.95

  30. Hello Pat, we had Xzilon applied to our brand new Camry at the dealership. At a cost of $699.95 nice! The first time I hand washed our car as it had sat for about a week after we purchased the Camry we have three other cars to use so we opted to not put miles on the Camry. Nay way I wetted the car we have soft water out water is softened and whole house reverse osmosis so we have good soft water which leaves very few water spots. The car had like a taped off strip from the hood to the trunk like someone had masked off half of the car the water beaded up on one side and the other side was dull no water beading. I washed the car and it spotted horribly. When we got home from a little trip I took it to the dealership and explained what happened while I was washing the car they didn’t believe me so they pulled it in the cleanup shop and wetted it down the shop manager couldn’t explain what had happened. He said he would have the car redone. and it would take 4 hours to complete, so I called my wife and told her what was going on and to come get me and would have to return in 4 hours to pickup our car. I was standing outside the detail bay and overheard two guys say well we got to put more worthless crap on this customer’s car and was making a joke out of it. I said something to the Service manager and he blew me off. We had a service contract on our car I worked for Toyota TMMK car plant, it comes standard when an employee purchases a new car. We noticed the finish was starting to dull very bad at about the year point and I complained about the condition of the finish to the Service Manager he blew me off said it was because of sun fading I asked how is that it stays in a climate controlled garage, he walked off, saying I need to talk to my salesman because he had no dog in this fight. Now the paint is getting spots like the clearcoat is coming off. I took it to a professional detailer and he told me the clear coat was coming off he asked if I had Xzilon on it I said yes he said that shit eats your paint off. Took it to a body shop they said the same thing. Actually looks like hail damage because of the spots never been even in a hard rain the car is three years old and only has 5800 miles on it. I took it in to the dealership for the airbag recall and complained to the Service manager said hell it’s an old car now why am I complaining? I have the platinum warranty he said take it up with Toyota. What BS ! what direction should I go someone suggested contacting the attorney general and filing a complaint against the dealership?

  31. I purchased a Transit Connect and decided to put the Xzilon coating on. I was told that the water would bead up and I would not have to wax. The bugs would just wash off and the paint would be bettter protected. So far it has not worked. Told the dealer to do it over for the third time or refund my money. They sure don’t want to make a refund.
Are they not putting Xzilon on properly, is the product being used defective or is the product just junk?
I paid $895 to keep from waxing this car. So far I am not seeing the benefit to using Zxilon.
Maybe the third application will work!!

  32. This may well be a good product. I’ll never know. The idiot that the dealership paid to apply Xzilon to my brand new car apparently used a steel wool pad. Swirl marks, water spots, holograms….my new trucks finish has it all. Now I’m sure I’ll have to fight tooth and nail to get someone to fix this. The dealer will blame the product, Xzilon will blame the dealer, and I’ll get stuck paying a real detailed to fix it. Never ever let a dealer apply this, or anything for that matter, to your car.

  33. I just bought a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The dealership wants to charge me $991 for Xzilon, stated I won’t have to wax my car for 5 years. Your thoughts?

  34. This product is not worth the paper it is written on.
After 2 years I had a small claim and it was rejected within an hour after it was filed.
and it was only a small paint chip, which I was told would be covered
All it is is a VERY EXPENSIVE WAX JOB.
As far as I am concerned this is a big RIP OFF!!
Save your money and buy a can of good wax and dont buy it or any product from XZILON!!

  35. Absolute oversold overpriced rubbish. Shame on the dealers who push it. Not a single one of the claims is justified. Bugs stick like always as do bird droppings. They DO NOT cover any dents or scuffs despite what the brochure or the dealer says. Just say NO.

  36. I purchased a new car from the Tucson Subaru Dealership and purchased this xzilon coating. When a sprinkler system covered by new car in hard water, I took it to the dealership to fix and reapply the coating, as was covered in the contract. The dealership failed to remove the spots and now is talking about having my insurance covering the cost. I do not believe this coating was worth the money, nor does your company cover the expenses when forced to uphold the contracts they sell. I will never purchase another Subaru and will never waste my money on this coating. I highly recommend others to do the same.

  37. I had Zyilon applied by the Lexus dealership to our 2014 Lexus ES350 when purchased new. After nearly two years, I have mixed feelings about the benefit versus the cost. I do think the benefits are oversold. My experience is that Zyilon does not protect against dings, scratches or road debris. Unfortunately, we were driving through Wyoming and Nebraska during a snow storm this past February. They use a coarse product on the roads. As we drove through the state, our car was peppered with this product for 12 hours. The front of the car and most of the leading edges were badly damaged including the windshield and headlights. I filed an insurance claim for nearly $8,000. The car was recently repaired and the paint has cured. I take the car to the dealership tomorrow for the Zyilon to be reapplied at no cost. For sure, don’t think Zyilon is like Teflon. It will not protect your car from damage whether basic every day stuff or more extreme situations like ours. I have not experienced the problem with bird droppings or water spots others have mentioned. And when the car is cleaned it looks great. My take is that the product is only as good as the time and care taken to apply it. I do think it is over priced and while I haven’t filed a claim, it sounds like they find every reason they can to deny. Unless they cut the price in half, I will not purchase Zyilon for our next car. The front of the car is the most exposed and takes the brunt of potential damage from bugs, rocks, etc. I will have a clear bra installed on the leading edges instead of a full body coating of Zyilon. In my opinion, you don’t need to protect the entire car. It’s overkill and not as effective as the sellers claim. If you have that much trouble with bird crap……find another place to park.

  38. This product cost me $1785.00 when I bought a 2014 corvette at Speedway Chevrolet in Monroe Wa.from Joe Harvey was told it would never need waxing again my wife was a witness to thier sales pitch. I have water spots and fading only remedied by a $100 wax job was told by Patty (represenitive of Xzilon) I hsve to go thru the dealership course they got their money now and wont return the phone calls to them guess this is the only recourse is complaining bet I never have a good word for this stuff or Speedway Chevrolet and I bought 2 corvettes from them just seems like for $1785 I could get some satisfaction.beware consumer lots of scams out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. I would like to respond to this comment. I am also a Detailer at a Subaru Dealership. The Xzilon if put on the right way really does work. I have pride in what i do as a detailer. I bought my car at the same dealership and i treat every car as if it was my own. If it was my car i want what i pay for. I only get paid .95 for the job and it takes me about and hour and a half to do. I also advise the customer to keep the windows down because it takes about an hour after the process for the fabric to dry. I never skip steps because i always make hours up by staying longer. I have been complemented by my GM and all managers for being good at what i do. I take care of my customers as if a i was the owner. If you want to see the process done just ask. I welcome and encourage car buyers to watch the treatment process and see how your vehicle is done. ill gladly explain what and how the vehicle is protect and let you read the chemicals i use. Its your car so you have the right to watch…..Not all detailers are cons…A lot of are professionals and look after our customers… Garcia Subaru and Cadillac Albuquerque NM where we pride our work and take care of our customers…LH

  40. I would like to buy a case of this product how can I do that that and how much the cost my cell is 409-365 4267 thanks….

  41. Your all crazy or getting ripped off, I had the dealer apply Xzilon on my new sweet Ford F-250 and I don’t have any of the problems you people are explaining, even after rains I don’t see any water spots and after washing and drying it I use a quick detail spray made by Meguiars and it looks showroom new. Or maybe I got ripped off and they didn’t apply it.

  42. THANK YOU!! That is the most informative review I have ever read. I appreciate the honesty, you have made my decision a no brainer

  43. I purchased a new KIA last year, and had the Xzilon Green added at a very high price. The car looked good for awhile, but the water marks and spots starting showing up and it looks terrible. I tried to make a claim but got a hard time and wanted Pictures. The car is Black, come on, the sun or light reflects the color and you cannot see the spots from a picture. No Pictures, no claim! Also, I was told
get the vehicle detailed, and then contact them. Keep it waxed! Why did I have this added for, it has not did anything, and now when you want it corrected, the pro’s come out with Excuses.
DON’T BUY IT! Waste of Money!

  44. I purchased a 2016 Honda Accord in late December. I go out of town last weekend and when I returned on Monday to pick up my car from the secured parking lot, birds had dive bombed my car and all the cars around it. It was horrible. I immediately took it to the car wash and spent 90 minutes trying in vein to get the bird poo off the pain. I then took it to a professional local auto detailing shop and they did get all the surface debris, but I was left with horrible paint and costing damage to the tune of about $1200 (based on verbal estimate given me by the detail shop). I paid the dealership the extra money to apply the Xzilon at the time of purchase. I closely followed the instructions given me at the outset to wait a certain amount of time before washing and I did. In fact, I left the car in my garage for 10 days and didn’t even drive it I was so paranoid to make sure I wouldn’t do anything to upset the adhesion of the coating. Well, this product is crap. Honda sold this like it was the best thing to keep debris like bird poo from harming the car’s finish. Well, I can tell you that this is a lie based on my experience. I’ve filed a claim and will see what happens. The car is only 2 months old and not it looks like it’s 3 years old. People should avoid this product and Honda should be ashamed of itself for selling a product that is basically a lie.

  45. Xzylon is garbage! take a look at Ceramic Pro and tell me xzylon can even compare. Its a wax and wax is dead! Im a professional detailer and know all about these products. They are a joke and dont last more than 3 months. Roll a candle down a hot driveway and see what it picks up! same goes for any wax. When heated everything sticks to it. My sealants I put on a detail normally are better than this crap! Stay away and dont waste your money. Find an authorized Ceramic Pro installer and get what you are paying for!
Check out fivestardetail.net for more info on Ceramic Pro or just look it up on youtube.

  46. If you stand in the shower and don’t wash yourself, you will be covered in scum too. A wash mitt with a good car wash doap. Not dish soap. If you stand naked in the rain, you will not come clean. You might have less heavy dirt on you. But you will not be clean. You spent 50 grand on a Volvo. Wash it. No wax, polymer, or high end finish like xzylon will prevent scratches.

  47. We had the product put on our new 2015 Volvo S80 by the dealer. I cannot just wash this car at the wand wash car wash place at home? After it dries all of the dirt is still covering the entire car? I complained to the car wash, they say they are not doing anything different. My Ford Escape comes out spotless. I have to get out a pail of warm water and completely hand wash the Volvo to remove the film of scum left after every wash job. Not too happy. In the sun the Volvo still shows swirls ,tiny scratches and a foggy film on the side windows that I cannot get off? I feel like I have a 70k new wrecked car.

  48. Reading through this board, I can note some valid points of concern, I can also note many discrepencies.

Please note that the warranty that is provided at the dealer is very clear on what is and what is not covered. NO matter what the finance person states, all customers should have that to reference.

Also the picture on this web site is of the Xzilon car wash soap, not of the protectant that Is applied on the exterior and Interior of the cars. Please don’t let that fool you. Xzilon has many different products we offer in the industry. We have been manufacturing products for the auto industry since 1930.

When Xzilon is applied at the dealer – It works great.
When Xzilon is applied correctly – It works great
When a customer understands the warranty – It is beneficial for all parties, there is a signature on the warranty that states they do understand it. However many do not have the time to read all the paperwork given, but at least go home and read what you purchased.

Xzilon does have a claims process, we do require pictures. If Pictures are not submitted the claim wont move forward. The pictures are what helps us determine and communicate with our repair techs what the damage is.

  49. 9 months ago I purchased a new Subaru along with the xzilon protection. I wasn’t concerned so much with how it was going to protect the finish, i was more interested in minor dent and scratch repair. After about 4 month I noticed a small dent and paint chip just behind the door so I submitted a claim. I kept checking the website to see the progress of the claim and all it said was assigned. After about 3 weeks I called xzilon and they said there was some kind of mistake and it hadn’t been assigned. A day later I get an e-mail that the claim was denied because the dent isn’t repairable it will require body work. I thought I was paying for a warranty that repaired the dents. Apparently it has to be the right kind of dent and in a certain location. To anyone that is thinking of buying this product for the warranty read the fine print. The dealer is quick to say they will fix hail damage, door dings and other minor issue but never mention that dents in specific locations are not covered. I would not recommend this product.

  50. We had the Xzilon done when we bought our new 2011 Acura MDX in October of 2011. We also had a similar coating (not Xzilon) put on our new 2012 Tundra which we bought in Jan of 2012. The Toyota coating was a joke and the “stealership” not only applied the coating, but also applied surface scratches in the paint on the ENTIRE 4 door truck. I had to clay bar, then polish with a random orbital polisher and Menzerna P85 to get rid of the surface scratches and then applied Duragloss Clear Coat Polish, but that’s another story. I can tell you that the Xzilon coating did actually do something to protect the shine and protect the paint from bird droppings, bug splatter, road tar and pine sap on the MDX. We had this vehicle for 4 years and probably 40-50% of the time, it sat outside under a pine tree, but still shined like the day we brought it home and had never been waxed, only hand washed and hand dried. There were no surface scratches or spider web scratches that could be seen. The dealership that applied the Xzilon, got good coverage on the entire vehicle except the roof, which in my opinion is where it needs it the most. After washing the vehicle, I could see a very distinct line where the coverage was missed, up until we traded it off. We now own a new Volvo XC90 and when the dealership offered the Xzilon, we didn’t hesitate to have it put on. As for protecting the paint on the MDX from scratches and dents, I would say it definitely helped, but keep in mind, this is not an invisible titanium coating. As for the water spots previous posters were talking about, you have to dry the vehicle after washing, and go around it for a while after you think you are done, just to get the hidden drops that tend to run down the vehicle. The spots that you get after washing and letting air dry, are from the contaminants in your water, not from the coating. If you want a spot free rinse, you have to use filtered water. As for the spots after a rain….come on…..those are from pollution and dust that has collected on the surface of the paint, then get absorbed by the rain, concentrated to a “spot” and then dried in its concentrated form. The Xzilon coating isn’t magical, but is definitely helpful in keeping your new ride looking good. Just my $0.02.

  51. My wife and I purchased a 38′ 5th wheel trailer in Jan. of 2014. The business manager at Folsom Lake R.V. in Northern Ca. sold us the Xzilon Protectant treatment for the exterior, carpet and leather upholstery. We have no idea if any of the protectants were applied because we weren’t there to watch them. The jelcoat finish on the exterior of the trailer feels like there is nothing on it. Water spots, bird droppings and bugs take some effort to remove. Folsom Lake R.V. was supposed to do the xzilon treatment before we did our walk- thru so that they could deliver our trailer at the end of Jan. 2014. We found that they didn’t apply it. They said they would apply it by the time they delivered it to our house. The trailer felt like it had a slight wax coating on it. Did we get a wax job or a Xzilon job? Who knows? But after the few Spring showers we had that year, the exterior surface once again felt like nothing was on it. I brought our trailer in for warranty work in January of this year and asked them to reapply the exterior Xzilon protectant, which they agreed to do. When we picked our trailer up they swore it was applied, even though I said that it doesn’t feel like anything is on it. This past July I washed the dirt and dust off our trailer only to find that the water wasn’t sheathing off of it. I contacted Xzilon and told them about our situation. The gal I spoke with told me that our area rep. David would call me. David said that he will come to our house to see if the Xzilon exterior coating was in fact applied or not. So far we have spoken to each other on August 5th, 7th and 17th. On the 7th he told me he would call me on the 10th because he said he was in Texan at the time. I gave him from the 10th to the14th to call me, in which he didn’t. In fact it was I who called him the following Monday, the 17th. He told me he was on the other line with another customer and that he would call me back. He didn’t !!. Their company talks about customer service on their website. It would be nice if they lived up to it. Will let everyone know what transpires in the coming weeks or months.

  52. I just bought a 2015 Nissan Altima from Future Nissan in Roseville, Ca. I had this product applied not 4 weeks ago. I have water spots and already a stain from a bird dropping which was cleaned off in less than a day. With a coat of wax that should not have left a stain. Either this product is completely useless or this dealership is shady and did not apply the treatment after all. Not happy at all

  53. I am an auto detailer, Ive worked with several different companies for many different dealerships and I’ve been detailing cars for around ten years, for about 2 and a half years I was one of these supposed professionals who applies the Xzilon coat at the dealership. I can tell you first hand that most of the claims about this product are either greatly exaggerated or just flat out B.S. First off my “professional training” was nothing more than my manager showing me how we applied it at that shop, I’m not even going to say “showed me how it’s supposed to be applied” because floating between so many different dealerships that were all “certified” Xzilon sellers I saw about 5 different ways that this stuff was applied. And as a previous poster on this board already pointed out, we are the lowest paid employees at the dealership, do you really think most of gave a damn if we were applying this stuff properly or not? The same poster said we take about 30-45 minutes to do so… maybe if you were getting paid hourly to do so, I was getting paid by the car, or by the job, I don’t know how much this stuff actually cost the dealership, but they would pay us an extra hour to do the Xzilon process, which we would write up as the “Full Package Job” ( I say an extra hour because even though we were paid by the job, different employees still had different pay rates, so each job would pay the same amount of time, .9 of an hour to ready a sold unit, .75 to make ready or “PDI” a brand new car going onto the lot, 3 hours for a full detail, then your hours would be added up and multiplied y your hourlyrate) Gettibg paid in this way it us in your best interest ti do as many jobs as fast as you can. I routinely took about 20-30 minutes to do the entire procces, which includes spraying a scotch-guard like chemical on all the fabrics in the car, and wiping a leather conditioner on all vinyl parts. I personally always did the job quickly but properly, but many times saw other employees half-assing this process, sometimes to the point of not even applying the paint sealant! So the claims that this product is only applied by professionals I would pretty much say is total B.S. Did we know how to do it better than an average nobody, based on the length of your experience id say yes in most cases atleast, but as I just said I’ve seen new cars delivered with huge spots missed and sometimes not even having the paint sealant applied at all. And whoever said that this stuff is a wax has been misinformed, it is not, it is a pure liquid or solvent made up of several different chemicals. As far as how well it works, it doesn’t as far as I could tell. Most times this application product would only use about half the bottle or less of the chemical, so we would have tons of this stuff lying around in our shop and most of us would apply it to our own personal vehicles. I never saw it make any difference and every detailer I worked with who had also used it said the same thing. You will still get water spots, and you will still get dings and scrapes. I don’t think there’s any way to avoid dings and scrapes no matter what you put on your car. As far as water spots go, I think our cheap PDI wax did a better job than this Xzilon stuff, however wax only stays on the car so long and would need to be constantly re-applied for continued protection, however the only true way I know of to avoid water spotting is to dry your car by hand every time it gets wet. And a quick FYI, water spots can usually be buffed out of paint, and taken off of glass with steel wool (just make sure the glass is wet with either water or windex to avoid scratchng the glass), but sometimes bad waterspotting is completely permanent on paint or glass and nothing can be done about it. So in conclusion, my “professional” opinion as a detailer and certified Xzilon apllicater, don’t pay an extra dime for Xzilon to be applied to your car. And honestly if you can avoid buying a car directly from a dealership, you should always do so. I’ve seen a lot of dishonest and down-right F*ed-Up things done to customers at car dealerships, thats stuff I’ll have to save for another post, but just beware, car salesman all work on commission, almost always getting paid more in accordance to how much more you pay for the car, so it is almost always in their best interest to make you pay as much for a car as possible, while looking you in the eye and telling you they’re getting you the best deal possible! Don’t fall for it!

  54. I too bought a. Subaru, dark blue, and I have to say this stuff is no better than any high end wax. Water spots galore. I have to dry my car carefully or I will get spots all over – and they stick like glue. In addition, I have to use spray polish/cleaner, a microfiber cloth, and a heck of a lot of elbow grease almost every other day due to our frequent rains here in Houston to keep this car from becoming one big water spot. The car is only a few months old and already there are chips and small scratches in the paint. Summary: to call this a paint protectant is, in my opinion, gross misrepresentation bordering on fraud. Did I mention that everything sticks to the paint like glue?

  55. I recently bought a new Subaru from the dealer and because my car sits on the street and the birds often have their way with it, the dealer recommended Xzilon. After 4 weeks when cleaning off bird poop I noticed some scaring. I called claim department and it has been a difficult process. I have to send a picture which is near impossible with the surface glare on the hood. So without a picture they will not open a claim. Also lots of water spots after rain. To look nice I have to hand dry car after every rain. Seems ridiculous. We will see how this plays out.

  56. I’ve been a general manager of a Luxury Premium Dealership and I can tell you that trained staff means the dealerships lowest paid employees who are treated the worst. The cost which is around $15-25/car and to have a $8-10/hr employee applying it for 30-45 min (when you are buying the car they are already supposed to be cleaning it for pick up correctly which means you truly should only add on application time of this special product)….. it should not retail $500-800 even with the warranty. You will find the warranty to be the most challenging to collect should you have a problem. Professionally applied represents independent detail shops where the owner is one of the detailers… where they actually care and he will pay up for great detailers and normally use products he actually believes in. When a dealership cannot recondition the paint in house they always outsource to a “qualified professional detailer” Save you money… don’t buy from a dealership go to a detail shop or take the time to watch some videos on youtube about proper application of these type of products! These products do work but they should never be more than $200 professionally applied

  57. I spoke to a manager at my local body shop about the benefits of Xzilon+, since I am planning to buy a new car, and am aware that the dealer is pushing it. He strongly recommended that I pass on it. According to him, it is just a standard wax that is applied to the car. What you are actually buying is not the wax itself but rather an insurance policy against possible paint damage to the car body. He said that he used to sell Xzilon. He said that if you are buying, not leasing, and if you are planning on keeping a car only about 5-6 years, it is absolutely not worth it. There are better waxes on the market, and today’s car bodies typically do not rust before 12-15 years.

  58. I had my new car with Xzlion for a month. The show roon shine was not as crisp for long. Water spots from the garden hose. I put in a claim to have it re-applied. I* am waiting now to see how the new aplication will do. Iwas told that I still have to wipe down the car after rinsing it down. For this money I paid, it should wipe it self down. Not completly satisfied!

  59. Xzilon does not offer a AT HOME VERSION. Xzilon offers its warrantied item to Auto, RV and Motorcycle dealerships only. It is applied by the trained persons at the dealership and is a warrantied item.
The picture you show is a wash and wax soap that is available for maintaining the Xzilon Molecular coating that applied at the dealer, NOT the same items.

If you would like any additional information on Xzilon please contact the corporate office at 800-553-6866.

    Thank you
