Does Chest Magic Really Work?

Rate this post

Chest Magic is the next in a long line of home workout products that promises a lot in a little package. Its very simple design can be misleading, as it claims to build up not only your chest, but your entire upper body. How can it possibly offer so many exercises in one unit? The short answer is, it can’t.

Overview
The upper body is the focus of many bodybuilders and wannabe weight lifters. For guys it gets the most attention from the opposite sex. For women it can help lift up a sagging bosom. So it’s no surprise that many of the machines on the market today focus on this area. In fact the lower body is often neglected or added on as an afterthought, but it is always best to work out the entire body.

The Claim
The big claim is in the name, and Chest Magic focuses primarily on your chest muscles by doing both push ups and flys. These time-tested exercises are known to work out your entire chest area, upper and lower, the side, and the center.

Chest Magic doesn’t stop at just your chest, it also says it can help you get fit in other areas of your body like your arms and shoulders. By doing dips you’ll be working out your triceps, and by doing abs exercises you’ll be hitting your abdominal muscles.

The Hype
The hype is that this is specifically designed for those that are insecure about their chest area, both men and women. They may tack on the arms and shoulders to complete the upper body promise, but in actuality its main function is for the chest in the form of push ups and flys. These two exercises are effective for the chest, but you will need to do other exercises to get the rest of your upper body involved.

The Cost
Chest Magic costs a whopping $125 if you finance it with monthly payments. You can opt

to pay it all at once for $120 but why would you ever do that? Try it at home if you must and just pay $35 once. When you see that it doesn’t work you can return it. You’ll get your $15 back but probably spend as much to return it. Do yourself a favor and just avoid it altogether.

The Commitment
You have to be committed to using something like Chest Magic. Working out the chest can be exhausting, which is why most people can’t stick with the push-ups regimen and why a strong well-defined chest is such a coveted asset in the body-building world. You should also be eating a diet that has the right foods in it to help you recover from your workouts. Adding a cardio routine 3 times a week should also be used if you want to see the maximum amount of benefits.

Evaluation
The Chest Magic system does not look like it is very well constructed, and looks like it is about ready to fall apart while you use it. It only has a few different variations to it, and a limited range of exercises can legitimately be performed on it. Saying you can do dips with it is a little far-fetched and not much different than doing dips using a simple folding chair you probably have in your home now. Doing push-ups on it is very similar to doing push ups on the floor.

The only thing it remotely does better than the floor or a chair is it allows you to do flys. This is a very effective workout when done properly. But it looks so unstable with a person’s body weight on it that we don’t recommend trying this at home.

Final Chest Magic Review

It seems that Chest Magic doesn’t know which gender it is trying to cater to. Originally it seemed they were trying to target men, but they also try to win over women with an appeal to firm up their chest area. No matter which side they’re trying to sway, they don’t do a very good job of it, and this is one fitness product you can take a pass on.

Once you buy it and get it home you’ll immediately have buyer’s remorse because it doesn’t really do much more than what you can currently perform at home with the equipment you have now. The one exercise it offers, the fly, looks wobbly, and frankly, unsafe. Save your money and invest it in other products that are better designed and better built to offer more exercises for you to do at home.

Our Recommendation
Chest Magic is something that you might want to keep around the house for days when you just don’t feel like going to the gym, whether it’s a rainy day or a snowy day. But you probably won’t be able to get a high-quality work out of it.

What do you think? Does Chest Magic work or not?

  • This is actually quite an innovative way to train the chest. It's employing the kind of resistance training you get from using a roller, only in the horizontal motion that will apply all that force directly into the pectoral muscles. However, this is exactly what dumbbell flys do. Also, because the rails kepp you fixed in one place, you don't get the same benefit as if you used two hand rollers. The rails stabilize you and it means you don't have to work as hard. My advice is to use hand rollers and do incline dumbell flys for a big strong chest. And push-ups. Can't beat push-ups.

  • Had a try out of one of these after a friend purchased one... He sent it straight back for a refund!
It's truly shocking - as the article says it feels like it's going to collapse when you're using it.
If you're a big guy then i'd probably not go for one of these - i wouldn't trust it!
This gives you nothing a variation of push ups can't do - save your money!
