In today’s modern world there are a number of ways to be able to send messages, but if you are really looking for a fun and unique way to do this then maybe the CloudPets Teddy would be wonderful. You may want to download the app first and see if this is really to your liking. There are safety features built into the product as to who can send messages, and the holder of the bear can only send messages back in response to the last message they received.
We are going to give the CloudPets Teddy a thumbs up rating. While we are all aware that we can simply send messages to our little ones through video chat, it is still kind of nice to mix a well loved type of toy into the mix, instead of it all being based on pure technology. It does take a little tech knowledge to get things up and running, but no doubt most people will be able to figure it out. If you are going to set it up so grandparents for example can send little messages to the kids, you may want to help them set up the app. to get it working right. As you can guess this Teddy is comprised of electronics so you are not going to be able to toss it into the washer to clean it. We're very sorry for your frustration. Through the Cloud, messages can be sent from one profile to another from anywhere in the world. But, to protect children from unauthorized messages, your CloudPet can only receive those messages from a device within 30 feet. In the same way, messages can only be sent from your CloudPet to a device within 30 feet. Once in the device, messages have reached the Cloud and can go anywhere. In addition to providing privacy for your children, Bluetooth messaging does not require Wi-Fi, which can be quite helpful on the go. Another unique benefit of CloudPets is that they provide little ones with a physical connection to parents and other loved ones when they can't be together. So I am an active duty single parent who just bought this for my child. I downloaded the app and bought 2 Cloudpets both for my kids and realized I can't send them messages when I am out of town because I have to be 30meters in range. Most of the time I am out of town their grandpa watches them who has an old school phone and don't understand how to work an smartphone. Is there anothere way to stay connected and send messages to them without leaving my phone???
Carlisa - I feel your pain here, I noticed this product shortcoming immediately after unboxing the CloudPet, installing the iOS app and doing all the setup. I work as a systems engineer and I have developed a way for my Cat CloudPet to send/receive voice messages over wi-fi instead of Bluetooth (10 meter limitation on iPhone).

Went to walmart and got 5 at one time! Wasted over $200.00!!!!! Can't send if bear isn't near your phone. They will say anything to make money!!!! False advertisement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Can’t send if bear isn’t near your phone" A: 30 feet away that your phone connect to your cloudpet. Your phone is kind of like a mother device to the cloudpet.
Your family/friends can send a voice message from far far away to your cloudpet get through your phone. It is not false advertisement.
This toy is beyond stuffed animals. We need to read the instruction well just like we need to how to use a cellphone.
I agree. I just found out that i have to be near it. Im so mad. If i didnt throw the receipt away, id take it back. So disappointed. My son was so excited to have this toy too. Smh

If that’s true you have a lawsuit. Posting on sites only makes you look like you’re making invalid claims. Take it to court or let it go.

I don't understand why they make websites like this one!!!! If you want to figure it out go and buy one!!! or test the one the usually have out at ToysRUs and stores like that!!!! Maybe i am wrong but, i work for Google so i know what websites should be on and ones who should not. Thank you for reading this. I hope you can see my point of view.
Well, one good reason why this is helpful is that, not all countries have ToysRUs or these items in the local stores for us to try out. Plus, it would be a waste of money to buy 'As Seen On Tv' items and send them to friends or have it exported to another country where return would be costly and then you find out that the items don't work. So, people like me, who does shopping online for myself (in South America) and for my nieces in the USA, sites like these are very helpful.
So, do they have any vacancy at Google for people like me who think out of the box? ;)
