Does eReleases Really Work?

eReleases is a press release distribution service that does things a little differently than some of the more popular ones out there. They stress that it’s the level of customer service that they provide that makes them better, and they say each person that works for them is also an editor, and not just a sales representative. So how can you know whether this is the service you should go with or not?

Overview
Press releases can be amazing marketing tools if used properly, or they can have no effect on your business at all, and just be a drain on your expense column if not properly executed. It’s a mix of finding the right event, finding the right words, and finding the right distribution channels. You need to get your release in front of the people that are interested in it, and that will give you a call and want to interview you and feature you on their radio or television program, or write up a news piece in the paper or on a blog. So is this really the way to knock out all of these birds with one stone?

The Claim
eReleases claims that they will send your press releases out to actual journalists that are anticipating this kind of information. They are trying to draw a distinction between their service and the ones offered by others. For example, some press release distribution services work more like a news feed, where people that are subscribed to the feed see your headline lumped together with hundreds of other headlines. This means you’re not really getting your message in front of an interested audience. But with the eReleases service they are focusing on quality as well as quantity, because they say they have over 100,000 journalists subscribed to their network.

They also offer a writing service as well, making the entire process pretty hands free for you. If you’re no wordsmith but you want to get this right, you might want to consider their service, but it’s an extra $300, so you might want to consider outsourcing it to a well-rated press release writer on eLance or Guru.

Bring the Hype!
Press releases have been getting a lot of attention these days as a way to increase the visibility of your company, or your brand. A properly executed press release can really put you in the spotlight and be the boost you need to get national attention.

The Cost
The lowest cost packages with eReleases is $300 with their Pro package going for $500. When you compare this to something like PRWeb, you’ll see that the biggest packages are both the same price. But PRWeb has an $89 option as their lowest price point, in order to lure in the budget conscious start-ups that can’t justify spending so much on a release.

But you have to weigh the cost up against what you’re getting. Even though there’s no low-cost option with eReleases, this just means that they can’t break up their package enough to get the cost down. If you go with their basic plan, you’re still going to get the same sort of package that PRWeb calls their Premium package.

The Commitment
When you go with a press release service like this, you first should make sure that your piece is newsworthy. One of the benefits that they say comes with their service is that they aren’t afraid to tell you if you should be doing a press release or not.

Evaluation
eReleases is a partner with PR Newswire, which gives them the sort of oomph they need, and makes them a valid contender. If they were just sending it to their own private network, that might be worth the price alone, but when they tap into the larger network, as well as hit up all of the journalists in their own network, they are providing good value for the dollar.

The great thing about press releases is you can easily gauge the reach and effectiveness by using a special address for your campaign. For example, if you are sending out a press release about your company’s anniversary, you can set up a special page like yoursite.com/anniversary and you can track all of the hits you get there, and see where they’re coming from. If you get the sort of results you want, and you can see that you are getting a good return on your investment, it only makes sense to craft another press release the next time something newsworthy happens, or the next time you make something newsworthy happen.

Final eReleases Review

eReleases is definitely a service you should consider. They’ve still got that “mom and pop” feel to them, but bring enough experience and have a large enough network to be just as effective as the larger companies. This means you can get the individualized attention that you need, but also have the same sort of reach as going with a service like PRWeb or PR Newswire.

Our Recommendation
We would seriously consider both PRWeb and eReleases as they are both quality services, but are run a little differently. If you want more of a friendly feel, and want more hand-holding through the process, you should go with eReleases. This makes them a great choice if it’s your first release you’re sending out, and you aren’t sure exactly what to do. You’ll get a more sterile feeling from using PRWeb, but it’s just because they’re so large and they process thousands of press releases daily. You’ll get a high quality service no matter which one you go with, so it’s a matter of preference.

  • Absolutely unacceptable discrepancy between what is false advertised and what kind of reach is really provided - the stats of press/media views on the release are beyond terrible!

    eReleases gets paid for the reach, and what reach they provided is absolutely laughable. You cannot advertise yourself as promoting press release to thousands upon of thousands of people, and then provide BARELY ANY release views! Especially, given the most extensive and expensive packet was chosen for distribution, after the consultation and promises of how incredible reach they have!

    In no way charging hundreds of dollars and promising the reach of thousands upon thousands of people and not getting a single feature out of it can be considered a decent promotion.

    $649 paid. NOT A SINGLE LINK BACK back from any site or outlet. Not even some local news that nobody even reads. Nothing. Zero. All that thanks to the nonexistent reach that they failed to provide!

    Second thing. Trying to quickly upsell additional services when not even a day has passed from your original purchase, and none of your questions has been answered? Totally unprofessional.

    Third thing. Even when you buy the most expensive packet, you will be asked for an additional $150 for putting 2 pictures into press release - which is again laughable. Otherwise good luck with your press photos being posted as links.

    To sum up - eReleases are just another SCAM company, not worth a single penny. We are using multiple sites for promoting our artists. Some of them get better results, some of them get worse results - which is something natural and realistic to expect. We are not anticipating miracles.
    What eReleases provided is though and total and utter scam.

  • Does eReleases really get your message in front of the right people.

    We have run 3 campaigns with excellent success. If you visit our website look at the bottom of the home page are the actual releases sent out. We are still getting inquires as well you can Google the press release and it is in the search engines.

  • I used erelease last summer to publish my release for the Mother of All Rallies. We received event coverage from all of the major news outlets and al great number of other tv/radio/newsprint services. I found the support I received from the staff helpful and pleasant. The after publication reports and follow up were also helpful. For me, erelease met my expectations and was not in any way a scam. I received more than expected for the price and am looking forward to using their service for our second annual event in September 2018.

  • I tend to believe the above comments that eReleases maybe be some type of scam, just by the way they are *seriously* remarketing their service after my recent visit to their site, with really horrible looking banner ads (they look like some kid from the 80s created it!) on many websites I have been to over the past 24 hours, including this very page you are reading this on, with their ads bashing PRWeb.com... In doubt? Go to their website, then come back to this page and see yourself....

  • Just used the services from ereleases.com and I can confirm that is RIP OFF. They publish the release to PRNewswire and come back with a so called report with links where the release was so called posted - but in fact those are just some fake pages generated via rss feed and the pages are not appearing anywhere else on those websites so nobody could see the page.

    None of the fake pages from the ereleases.com report are indexed by google because they don't exist on those websites. Just the release on prnewswire will appear and that would be all. Well for 270$ to get your release published on a website with "no follow links" is equivalent to zeroooooo.

    There are PR sites that offer a do follow link for only $10.

    No one clicked a link from the release - so the imaginary 100000 + journalists is probably just another fake. The release was posted on 200 website but no one clicked the link and the release was about a new website launching - no real journalist will publish about a new website launching without taking even a short look on that website.

    Maybe those ereleases.co fake links work with some people that have low IT knowledge and they can be easily fooled.

    It's just a total waste of money and a total rip off. I write them a request for a refund and I am sure what kind of answer I will get. Finally I will file a dispute and a charge-back because this is just a fraud.

  • What a RIP OFF !!!!!!! They sent a release to PR Newswire which was in turn picked up by RSS feeds on several sites. Redundant content has ZERO value!!! They claim to have a propitiatory list of thousands of journalists they send Press Releases too. They never issued a report or proof of that.

    A PR service can claim they sent an release to a 100K journalists in their database. If no one, I mean NO ONE, clicks or visit our site, it has ZERO value. Something is off here!!

    Our experience with Ereleases.com was a complete waste of money. BUYER BEWARE.

  • ereleases is a SCAM!!!! They get you zero coverage, The owner Mickie Kennedy is an asshole. He is very short and overweight so I guess he has a character issue. More importantly, do NOT do business with these crooks - - complete waste of money. Use a service like PR Buzz, or ReleaseWire, or Pr.com or go directly to ireach. You will save tons of money - - ereleases is a scam! You've been warned!! Ereleases is a scam!!!

    • Ive never heard of a BBB approved scam. You say that he has a character issue because he is short and overweight. What does that have to do with anything? Not a damn thing. You are acting like a child. You are the unrealistic,impatient,get-rich-quick type of person that is immature.

  • Complete waste of money. $419.00 down the drain for nothing. ERelease is NOT PR Newswire. No where close on any level. They over sell their services and never stop trying to sell you more (And they call this great customer service.) Don't do it. Worthless.

    • They NEVER claim to be PR Newswire. They only claim to be associated with them. There is a difference. Nobody is putting a shotgun to your head and forcing you to buy anything.

  • Once I'm able to officially getting my business officially running I would like something to make powerful impact through various promotions via press releases. How could these be used effectively to boost one's business propositions? I will have to try this out sometime. It looks very promising to say the least. But is it a good investment though? I guess I'll try it out and find out for myself.

  • As an independent marketer and writer I have the opportunity to work with several agencies big and small, each with a different set of marketing ideals and goals. eReleases has been tremendously helpful in allowing me to target specific audiences via their journalists subscribers list. It’s this new approach that has allowed me to stand apart from other marketers/writers when I’m making my pitch to potential client. I have yet to try using eReleases’ editor services but I’ve been satisfied with their other services that this certainly seems like it is a good option for anyone who isn’t comfortable with writing.
