Does Fling Really Work?

1/5 - (3 votes)

Fling (fling.com) bills itself as the world’s best adult adult personals, but they’ve got to prove that they’re better than competing sites such as Ashley Madison, and Adult Friend Finder. The rise in popularity of these types of websites says something about the state of society’s view of traditional relationships, but can a site like this really work?

Overview
It’s only fitting that adult-themed sites like these exist because there’s a large gap between a long-term relationship like the users of eHarmony are looking for, and the no-strings-attached hook-ups that sites like these purport to facilitate. The other thing that needs to be in place is a large user base. There needs to be enough users of both genders each looking for what they’re interested in for it to work. That’s why the big sites have so much success, there’s a large number of people using them due to the national ad campaigns in place.

The Claim
Fling claims that you can use their site to find other like-minded adults that don’t want a serious relationship, and just want to have a fun or light-hearted sexual encounter. They even go so far as to guarantee it, which we explore further down below. The big draw is that everyone that signs up, if their being honest about what they want, is looking for the same thing. If you really do want just the physical without all of the romance, or just the passion without all of the commitment, this should be the environment to find it.

The Hype
The hype is that a large majority of people will sign up in the hopes of getting an easy hook-up, but in reality they may never actually go through with it, or there might not be anyone there that interests them or is close enough to have something happen in real life. What they’re selling here is the idea of getting sex with minimal investment in time and effort, and that will cause people to want to sign up just to see if it might work.

The Cost
Signing up for basic membership is free, but just like with all of the social networking sites out there, the site builds value

by getting members to sign up. They also have it set up so that you can upgrade your membership to unlock additional features. For example, their next level up is $25 a month if you pay monthly, and the one up from that is $35 a month if you pay monthly. They have discounts if you buy multiple months at one time.

The Guarantee
They have what they’ve termed the Get Laid Guarantee, and they say that you will have sex using their service or you don’t have to pay for your membership. It’s not a money-back guarantee, but a way of doubling your initial membership fees if things don’t work out for you. If you stay on for three months in a row and don’t manage to line up a sexual encounter during this time, they’ll comp you an additional three months to give you better odds. All they require is that you have a picture of yourself on your profile, and that you send out or respond to 5 messages a week.

Evaluation
Fling makes a pretty strong case for itself, and they seem pretty confident that the average person would be able to find a sex partner and be happy enough to stay on with a monthly membership in order to keep their love life going strong. After signing up for it, we were impressed with the seemingly large number of options that were available in our area. After reviewing several dating sites this one seemed to be on par with some of the big boys, and most of the users seemed genuine, and not that they were just stringing you along.

The free membership provides enough features so that you can get a good enough feel for it to see if you want to put down some money and give it a full trial. When you consider the price of drinks at a bar, or dinners at a restaurant to do the traditional pick up or dating scenes, it only makes sense to put some money down to possibly circumvent all of that.

Final Fling Review

Fling.com is getting our Solid Try rating. It’s been shown to work for some, but not so much for others. What’s interesting to note

is that the people it does work for don’t really have a pressing reason to come out and tell people about it. But those that didn’t have luck with it are more likely to voice their dissatisfaction. Of course it’s going to depend a lot on the individual but at least you’re barking up the right tree and are at a site where people aren’t looking to get married or be boyfriend or girlfriend.

Our Recommendation
Even though their the first site we’ve seen that guarantees you’ll get laid, they also stipulate that you’re going to have to show that you’re putting forth a modest effort. If you’re waiting for something to fall in your lap you might be waiting a long time. If the desire is strong enough you’ll find a way to make it happen, and this site could be a way to streamline the process, but you’ll still have to be involved and make a convincing argument as to why you should be the one they sleep with rather than someone else.

What do you think? Does Fling work or not?

  • I believe that a lot of these women work for the fling company cause they never run out of credits or worry about them, they get you hooked so you keep talking to them and have to buy credits. They start talking a great a great story then all of a sudden they start back stepping and can't say they can't meet you. Most of the women you talk to if you ask say they are at work, most women I know don't have time to be flirting on the computer like that without the boss known. Most of them don't even tell you the truth about where they live, I had a friend that checked it out, and there was to many using this small town. In this small town there was only 35 people living there, and in flings there was 30 using that small town.

  • I joined flings counterpart hookup site called uberhorny that operates the same way as fling. I tricked out my profile and sent hundreds of messages and still couldn't earn a single hook up within the 6 months of being a gold member, rather than give you a refund they would give you an extra three free months which also means you won't steal hook up then. So I don't believe fling or any of these so-called hookup sites work, it seems too good to be true to sell sex online without a catch.

  • Thanks for the comments/reviews, I was all set to give up my credit card number and go for a 7 day trial for 9.99 or ten dollars...think I'll go down to a local bar in my small town and buy a lady or two a few beers...the good ol' fashioned way...hey dudes, want to hookup...go attend an AA or NA meeting...lots of women have to go by order of the courts...their typically homeless, no money, on probation and when they go off on a runner their horny as hell...even if it means blowing a UA and going back to jail for 30 to 90 days on a PV...most are junkies who have unprotected sex...so make sure you wear two condoms...just to be extra safe...

  • I have noticed that everyone women who sends me message acts like they are ready to get it on but the moment you ask to meet and introduce yourself in safe place they all want to just keep buying credits and talking online. They wont ever want to meet and always say they can't call me or text me. This has happened with every single lady I have talked with on the site so far.

  • Found 2 nice women that live about 3 hrs away & I have clean, enjoyable, non-nude chats with them. That's it!
I've never seen so much, B.S., Gold Diggers & scam attempts. No one will message you back, unless to say they can only use hangouts for messaging. Yeah, for those of you who don't know, that's a huge red flag.
Fling's search features are utter garbage. 90% of the search results are inactive profiles and most of the pics are 10+ yrs old. If you sort by last login you have to search through 12 pages (exaduration) before your remotely back to anyone even close to local. Not to mention how a sort by distance will show profiles from neighboring cities until you get to page 3, then your back to local people you were looking for. But wait, oh these are 11yr old inactive profiles anyway, huh. Then even more annoyingly there's the same profiles from page 1 on pages 3, 4 & 7 or sometimes even on the same page... need I go on. Well I will, 'cause of billing, HAH! There's the biggest joke.
I got billed multiple times all at once... Then the UK based billing company's site got cut off from any U.S. servers so you can't dispute the charges. So, basicly I was billed enough to where I could have afforded a hooker and actually got the result I was looking forward to.
Now for the people on the site. "Um, yeah I joined a sex site cause I only want to talk to nice guys" LMFAO! There's so many dummies who post that they're not there for Hook-ups, and I get it, but why not just use Plenty of Farts or OKAYCuCKpid? Oh, it's because when they finally are horny beyond any point of being able to control it anymore, they then have a desperate & easy grop of penises to pick from. Everything about this site is a waste of time, money & emotion. Just go to the local bar, massage parlor or Vasalene & Klenix Outlet store.

  • Years ago it did work I tended to travel a lot so I would search the future local area beforehand and have 2 or 3 potentials that do strike a conversation at least one would be up to the whole concept of what being a member in Fling entailed. Now that didn't happen without going through and talking to several dozens of profiles as a lot had scam site associated with them. That being said I did have luck its not immediate luck, but with patience and the right way of conversing through online chat guys can get lucky I'm going to estimate that it has been about 8 years since I've had a profile on Fling and in that time there are now apps and other sites capable of doing the same thing I will try again and test my luck in a more permanent address as I do not travel as much anymore. Will update if possible to this comment.

  • Fling is flooded with prostitutes and fake profiles. My friends who have tried it out all say the same thing, and not one has managed to "seal the deal".

  • Fling is a joke. Nothing but scammers and prostitutes. Please don’t waste your money. The only real girls are fat chicks. And when I say fat, I mean really fat. Spent 3 months on the site and sent hundreds of messages. The only responses I received were from prostitutes. Don’t waste your money!!

  • I was on the site for a month. I am a man in my 50s with better than average looks and physically fit. I have all my hair and I am 6-2, 190lbs. I posted two pictures, one of my face and the other of my body, both were tasteful. I am also well educated and financially secure. I sent out 92 messages in that month. The first 20 were to girls I thought were sexy or attractive. I spent hours reviewing profiles and tailored my message to fit their interests. I did not receive one reply, not even a thank you for the contact. I then sent messages to every woman over 35 within' 100 miles. I sent the same basic message to all, saying I was new to the site and was looking for someone to have some fun with. I got three replies out of 72. Two were beautiful younger women (20-25) who after a few messages, I could tell were scammers looking for a mark. The one remaining woman was 82 miles away and outweighed me by some 40 lbs, according to her profile, and after exchanging messages, I found she was looking for a husband. I have to mention that the only messages sent from women to me, were from 1000s of miles away. I paid for three months and will not renew. I found it a complete waste of time.
