Overview
When you get your bathroom refinished everything looks so pristine. However, it’s a very high-traffic zone and seems to get very dirty, very quickly. Especially in the shower, where mold is always a problem because of the wet conditions. Dirt, grime, and mold can all make your beautiful grout look not-so-beautiful in short order.
Scrubbing away with a cleanser, or other cleaning product, can wear you out in a hurry because of all the elbow grease that is required. Many times, you have to scrub very often in order to keep up appearances. If you neglect your scrubbing duties for a considerable length of time you’ll eventually need to replace your grout. But Grout Bully wants you to believe that the solution is just a few clicks away.
The Claim
Grout Bully states that all you have to do is gently wipe on their product, let it sit for 2 minutes, wipe off the excess, and you’re done! This is because it’s not actually cleaning your grout but just covering it up. It’s merely a cosmetic application, and not designed to clean or undo any of the built-up dirt.
The Hype
Grout Bully has the standard as seen on TV infomercial that exaggerates the problem of having dirty looking grout, and also makes the use of the product look far more easier than it is in real life. It doesn’t have much more hype than that, in fact it has some anti-hype because people are complaining that it doesn’t work and that they got ripped off at the checkout. Plus the Better Business Bureau gives the makers of Grout Bully an F rating.
The Cost
This is where things get sticky. Perhaps the first thing that gets people ready to buy is the low price of $10 for Grout Bully. However, like many of these types
Before you know it you’re paying two $8 charges to ship two separate bottles, plus the original $10 getting your order total to around $26. There’s even reports that some people are charged double this, upwards of $50 or more. The product is not available on Amazon or other retailers. This means that you have only so many options if you want to order it, and you can’t avoid this shady practice.
The Commitment
Although the commitment level is shown to be very low in the infomercial, real users have reported that it’s not very easy to use when you get home. Even the very act of applying the liquid to the grout is reportedly not easy. You have to squeeze very hard in order to get anything to come out, making it hard to make a nice smooth even line that is shown in the TV spots.
Evaluation
It’s easy to see that in order to do a big job like the entire shower you would need to commit yourself to a lot of hard, tedious work which might be worth it if it actually did what it said. If it’s main function is to cover up your grout, it fails miserably in this regard. Mold stains are still visible even with a double coat applied to the grout.
Grout Bully is just one of those products that you love to hate. Apparently, they bully you into ordering more than you actually wanted and before you know what you’ve even purchased, the transaction is complete. There are hundreds of complaints from consumers out there, all complaining about the same thing.
Not only is the ordering process a scam, but the product itself is not worth anything at all. We might be able to overlook the ordering process shenanigans if they produced a stellar product that covered your grout and made your bathroom look like new. By combining such a lowbrow ordering sham with a product that shows that no effort was made to bring something of value to the market, they get a double thumbs down.
Our Recommendation
The Grout Bully makes it into the Hall of Shame. It is a product that your mother warned you about. Not only is it well documented that they rip you off at the time of the order, they also send you a product that does very little to help with the problem. Furthermore, if you try to get your money back it will only be on the low price of the product itself, and not for the shipping and handling.
This means after nearly spending $30 to buy the product and have it shipped, and then spending money to ship it back, you’ll still be out the shipping and handling charges which total more than the product itself. This is a classic example of why made-for-TV products have a bad reputation.
Give Grout Bully a wide berth, and stick to other grout cleaning methods or just re-grout as needed for less expense from your local hardware store.

I have had great success using grout bully. I used in kitchen, hallway and bathrooms. I really wouldn't use in showers. Bathroom floors are still pristine even a year later. Sadly high traffic areas do wear off quickly. I have to mop quite often as we have a big dog that drools and tracks dirt in so that's the part I don't like. I just wish grout bully made more colors. Like brown. Beige is still too light for my floors.
I notice the last posting on this was 2012. Today is March 23, 2017. More than a year ago I redid my white kitchen ceramic tiles with Grout Buddy. They hadn't had attention since 1950 when my mother built this house. Grout Buddy worked beautifully. Perhaps the formula has changed since the previous reviewers used it. I am a householder- not n employee of any company including Grout Buddy. This stuff is so great!!! I'm on this website looking to order more of it and accidentally stumbled on this review section. I've had this material in use for over five years. No problems.
It was a bit stiff to squeeze out but I have 83 years old fingers then. The polishing after letting it dry was no problem. The material fills the gaps worn in my grout, dries without shrinking, and does not wear out.
My only problem is that I live where we have frequent earthquakes which crack the filler and then it
pops out when I scrub the cracked ares on the countertops. I like this product. It restores my very attractive counters. I will continue to buy this product as long as it and I are both around.
Grout bully does work. But you also have to be careful what you clean it with. Simple soap and water is fine. Harsh cleaners will strip it off (over time). I had a dog that just ruined my grout on the hallway and kitchen floors with his dirt. It just was ground in and you could tell anywhere he walked or laid down there was a trail. I cant use bleach ( its bad for grout anyway) so i ordered grout bully. I did all my tiles grout and it looked brand new for like 9 months and then i just touched up where the dog started getting dirt in it again. After he died i just didnt worry about it. Now a year later and lots of harsh chemicals to clean it with its starting to wear off. So i re applied it and everything looks new again. I love grout bully. Psssst you can purchase it in stores now. No high s&h costs. ;)
I am not an employee of the manufacturer, just a person who likes to have everything look pristine. Bought a 5 yr ols house that had the big light color tiles in the entry, kitchen, dining room,hallway, 2 bathrooms. The grout had become dirty, especially in the high traffic areas. I had professionally cleaned, helped some, I tried the vinegar-bakingsoda concoction, bleach and many more products recommended on the web, Pinterest etc. While they did help some, the floor was not as clean as the little traffic areas, like under the dining rooms table. While at CVS on the As Seen On TV shelf the cleaner was half price, $5.00 so I said "why not". I tried in the panty and thought on my gosh as the color was very white and the grout was a more natural like greyish white. I followed the directions, it went on very smoothly, wiped with the sponge provided, then further wipped with a damp rag to get the excess from around the grout line. I determined it was too white so would not do the main flors. The next morning everything had dried completely and low and behold it had dried to the light greyish color. Totally surprised and happy. Have now done half of 2 rooms and still have plenty product left. This is snot shoe polish as I tried that. It is more of a paint but who cares, my floors don't look dirty any more. Will it last, who knows but for now my grout looks new again. Would I do them again, you bet!
Try cleaning your grout with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda . Do a Google search, lots of info how to make your own grout cleaner on the web. All my kitchen counter and floor tile grout cleaned up with my oxi-mix made at home, some took 3 cleanings but all look like new. No need to re-color. 2 coats of sealer and I am good for another 6 years Almost all grout paints look good for about a year at best, then they start to peel off, making a real mess, reveling why you wanted to fix the grout in the first place.

I used the white Grout Bully on my grout in my old and dated shower. Right on the bottle it tells you that it does not replace grout and to fix any grout problems you may have first. It also states it is not a cleaner. What it does state it does do! I cleaned my walls first and let completely dry. I applied the grout bully just as it reads on the label and waited for it to dry. The grout came out wonderfully white and after half a year, it still is white. I love this product and will continue using it! 100% satisfied customer. Bye, now. Going to buy more!
Much better results from other products...just try Purple Power from Dollar General. Far less expensive and less manual labor to achieve good results. Waste of money as this bottle is going to be tossed out. Marketing might be the key as I doubt repeat or referrals from customers will promote the product.
It is alot of work ! BUT the results are very good. I paid over $300.00 last year to a company to clean my grout and it still looked awful, thus my try with Grout Bully. Yes the sponge wears out before the bottle is gone , however I purchased a baby size toothbrush for .97, got the rest of the sponge off the tip, then if you press and squeeze the bottle it comes out like a paint. I used a plastic lid to put it on so i could dip my toothbrush.. I have done my entire kitchen ( 9 x 9 ft), two bathrooms, my laundry room and two hallways with only one bottle. Nothing will totally clean grout and make it look like new so a coverup is the next best thing which is what Grout Bully is. I don't have the time to cover all my ceramic tile with clorox for 2-3 hours and try to mop it all up with a small dog in the house so I will continue to use this product.
I saw the Grout Bully infomercial on T.V.. Since I had tried everything else on our ugly grout, I thought it couldn't hurt to try this stuff. I have scrubbed every product I could think of on our grout including bleach, which I painted on with a small brush. Nothing worked until I put on Grout Bully!!! It is amazing stuff!!! I washed the bathroom tile. It dried for several days. I started applying the GB today. Our tile looks fabulous! Even my husband was impressed!! Yes, it requires a lot of squeezing to get the product out of the tube, but the results are worth it!! I am a retired art teacher who did several tile mosaic projects with my kids. I know about grout. It is easy to wipe off the excess if you follow the directions. If your grout lines go horizontally and vertically, wipe DIAGONALLY across the tiles in ONE DIRECTION ONLY. Don't scrub back and forth like you are scrubbingthe wall because you will scrub off the GB. I wipe from top to bottom. The sponge needs to be rinsed off frequently. The results are wonderful! I don't know how well it will hold up, but we'll see! For now, I am a satisfied customer!
