Overview
Gutter Whiz is a nifty piece of equipment that allows you to clean out your gutters/eavetroughs without having the hassles or dangers of climbing a ladder. It is said that it is the perfect do it yourself tool for getting this sometimes nasty job done.
The Claim
The company claims that it really is a safer method to use for cleaning out the gutters. You don’t have to use a ladder and there is no messing around with heavy blowers or power washers. They are saying that it more than pays for itself after just one use.
The Hype
This company focuses on the ease in which the Gutter Whiz can be used for this job. If you have done the job yourself in the past then you know how long it can take. If you have hired someone then you know it can be expensive. The company focuses on all of these complaints and believes it has solved them with their product.
The Cost
The cost is going to depend on where you purchase it from, but it has been listed on Ebay for as little as $39.99. However do keep in mind the pole does not come with it, so you are going to have to invest in a decent quality telescopic pole that is fiberglass.
The Commitment
There is a great video on the Gutter Whiz site that shows you how to use it. You should read all of the promo material regarding this item before buying as it may have some restrictions for you. For example,if you have to use above 15ft. then the ease of use is going to depend on your physical strength and the ability to control the pole.
Evaluation
If you have a bungalow where the gutters aren’t that difficult to reach then the Gutter Whiz is probably ideal for you. For two story homes the job becomes a lot more difficult.
We’re going to give the Gutter Whiz a try/buy rating because we think for a lot of homeowners it will be ideal. It is important that you understand it’s limitations when it comes to heights beyond the 15 ft. range.
Our Recommendation
Even though gutter Whiz is best designed for heights lower than 15 feet if you are still intent on the do it yourself gutter cleaning, then be sure to follow the recommendations of Gutter Whiz concerning this. As they mention on their site, you are going to need the physical strength and the ability to control a long extension handle. It is also imperative that the pole you use is electrically insulated and extreme caution be taken if there are wires in close proximity. I am totally with Ashley.By the time of research and cost of the pole alone and the cost of Gutter Whiz and on top of the fact that it is useless. It left more leaves in than it took out. Went and got an extension ladder coupled with a pickup tool, I could do six feet at a time and had the house done in no time.
I'm very sorry that GutterWhiz did not work for you but we have many reviews that tell us that it worked very well and better than other devices they tried. As with any tool, following the instructions is critical. As we point out, the first cleaning will be the most difficult because the debris is usually wet and packed. If the writer sends it back, we will be happy to give a refund.
That was the most expensive yellow rope I have ever purchased because the rest of the "WHIZ" was useless.. My opinion, it is a total piece of junk.. I ended up useing a ladder and cleaning out my gutters.. After extensively working on one run of gutter and completely exhausting my arms, a water hose with pressure nozzle still couldn't wash out the debree still left in the gutter by the "WHIZ:.. You should quit selling these worthless things
