Overview
When your hair starts to thin it can be a real blow to your confidence. Men’s hair care gets most of the attention, but more and more we’re seeing that it’s a common problem for women. Most of the time women are added as an addendum to male hair care, so it’s nice to see a product that is specifically formulated to help treat a woman’s hair. It’s also nice that they are acting responsibly as a company and are following the Cradle to Cradle concept.
The Claim
Invati claims that their products can help breathe life and vitality back into limp and thinning hair using all natural ingredients. They stress that 97% of their ingredients are naturally sourced, and that it is safe for all types of hair. User feedback suggests that some hair types might be better suited for it than others, but for the most part this claim seems valid.
The Hype
Products designed to help with thinning hair don’t need any hype. There’s already a motivated market that is ready to pounce on anything showing signs of working. With the relatively good feedback that this has been getting it’s no wonder that more and more people are wondering if it really works. Since this is developed and targeted at women it’s getting that extra boost of buzz because we’re pretty good at letting each other know when a product is a good buy or not.
The Cost
The Invati shampoo and conditioner are $24 each, with the scalp revitalizer at $60 for a package price of $108 which includes free standard shipping. One nice feature is that rather than stick you in an involuntary auto-ship program, they let you opt into one if you want to make sure that you’ll have a ready supply. They let you decide whether you want to receive it every 30, 45, 60, or 75 day increments. Or you can just choose to buy it as a one-off purchase and see how it goes from there.
The Commitment
Hair care is one of those things that you really have to stick with if you want to see the best results. Even on products that say they’re meant to work quickly, you’ll want to make sure that you follow the recommended directions and keep it going over a longer period of time. Perhaps you might see some early improvement, but try to reserve your judgment for a few weeks and then make up your mind from there. With these products you’re recommended to use them daily, and as a package deal, which may require more involvement on your part if you’re used to less frequent use.
Evaluation
The makers of Invati seem to really be doing their best at bringing you quality ingredients that are known for their healing properties. For example, their shampoo and conditioner contain Ayurvedic herbs that are meant to cleanse and stimulate the scalp. Ayurveda is an ancient art of well-being originating in India and focuses on bringing the body to a more natural state so that it can use its own natural healing abilities. This would be much more preferable than using a product with a lot of Space Age man-made ingredients that end up irritating the scalp and are so new they haven’t been tested.
It’s nice that you can visit a salon and even have an initial consultation on the course of treatment you should take. Most products like this make you go through a process of trial and error, picking out things that you think are best, trying them out to see how they fare, and then keeping what works and losing what doesn’t. Having someone guide you through the initial selection process is definitely a feature many of us would appreciate, as it cuts out a lot of wasted time and money.
Of course results will vary for each person that tries Invati, and this is due to a multitude of factors. There
will be some that get a consultation at an Aveda salon and would likely have better luck with it than someone that just starts using it without an in-office visit. Plus there will be those that only try it once or twice, compared to those that use it as directed for longer. With all of that taken into account it seems that the consensus is that it’s likely to produce acceptable results for most users, earning it our Thumbs Up review. Our Recommendation
There are several ways to help out a case of thinning hair, and cleansing and purifying the scalp represents an outward-in approach. Just remember that a big portion of the health of your hair is decided before it even reaches the surface, so be sure that you are getting proper nutrients to your hair with a proper diet, or perhaps supplements designed for that purpose. Taking a holistic approach is the way to go, and that even includes things like reducing your stress levels, and possibly detoxing your body through cleanses.

Is this product color safe? I have the 3 samples but don't want to wash out my color.
Before investing in a full bottle, I was given a sample. I used it on Sunday evening. On Monday, my scalp started itching so I shampooed my hair using my Wen product. By Tuesday AM, my scalp was so inflamed and my head began to swell. I shampooed my hair with Johnson’s baby shampoo and slept all night on ice packs. On Wednesday, I spent the day in the ER and was diagnosed with Contact Dermatitis. Today, I’m following up with a dermatologist because the itching has returned and the swelling has worsened. I pray that my hair doesn’t completely fall out from this experience. I will be reaching out to Aveda regarding my experience!!!!
Use at your own risk!

I just received the invati advanced system. Just wanted to know if the scalp revitalizer smells weird. It smells like pepper; just regular pepper that is used every day. My husband also noticed the smell. I put it on my hair when it was dry.
I am in my sixties and my hair started shedding by the handsful. The shedding all but stopped with the first use. Now about 5 months later my hair line is filling back in. Wish it didnt cost so much but will continue to use with these results
I want to try this product but I wonder if this product can be used on women of color hair, being it was mentioned it may not work for certain hair types ,also I wonder what happens if you start this product regime and then down the line you decide to give it a break, will you lose the hair that it helped grow provided it works for you . Also I am currently taking a wonderful product called mineral rich it work wonders for growing any hair type it is a liquid vitamin and I totally satisfied with mineral rich but I am going through menopause and wonder if I can use the invati hair revitalizer in conjunction with mineral rich liquid vitamin to boost the condition of my hair .if anyone has useful information regarding these questions I appreciate your response thank s
Ive been using for over three months and just bought the liter sizes to continue. My hair completely stopped growing once I turned 46. I would go and have my hair colored at the Aveda salon and had been for almost five years using nothing but Aveda color and shampoos and conditioners. She would always slightly trim the bottom edges and I continued to see zero growth. Finally my aveda girl put me onto Invati and I will never use anything else. She has seen me three times since starting and her comment is she cannot believe how much growth and strength she has seen since the start of the products. She does say the secret is the scalp revitalizer. I love love love it.. my hair has doubled in thickness, and the length has made incredible strides in a three month period. I do use coconut oil at night to moisturize the hair, and that seems to be making my hair very happy as well. Who knew you should make sure that moisturizer made it to your hair as well as your face.... Aveda made the difference and I could not be happier.
Hi Kristi!
I'm happy to read your good results!! Did you start using the coconut oil at the same time you started the Invati? I'm just wondering if it was the combination of the Invati and the coconut oil that helped.
I know coconut oil can actually regrow hair, but I'm not sure how to apply it, how long to leave it on, etc. Do you apply it to the scalp, or just your hair? What's your process?
Hi Joyce,
I replied earlier that I use a coconut-oil based shampoo and conditioner. Both work well.
I'm researching this product for a friend of mine, and she's concerned about stopping after she starts using this product. Can anyone speak to that? So far I haven't found anything that says it will be harmful to stop, but she has been told so and is reluctant to try. Thanks for your help!
Please don't use this product if you have a medical conditions and are already struggling with hair lose. I am so unhappy with the results after using the system for three months. My hair is falling out even more and the texture and condition of my hair is limp and dead. Don't do it. I'm not sure what kind of action I can take. I dread having to bring this to the attention of the owner of the salon I go to. Does she have an obligation to help?
I've been using the Invanti shampoo/conditioner for 5 months now. My hair has noticeably thinned over the last several years, and my sister, who is an Aveda stylist, suggested Invanti. I will say this... my hair definitely looked fuller and thicker after using it. I still have some episodes where I will "shed" a lot, but it's not getting any thinner. On the downside, my hair doesn't feel as soft as it used to before I started using Invanti. I used to have naturally curly hair (long corkscrew curls when dried naturally). Now, after a few months of Invanti, if I let it dry naturally, it looks more like what happens if you braid your hair while it's wet and let it dry that way. It's just sort of wavy/crimped. Not very attractive. I'm not sure if I would recommend this shampoo and conditioner for other people with curly hair, but for straight hair, I think it would be pretty good.
When i first moved to Elk Grove, Ca my hair was thinning, dull and dry as dead grass. Due to stressful life.
I went to James Mark Salon. The first one i tough i would try, based on appearance and mannerisms.
They use a combination of products. By the time it was all over. I cryed hard like a baby, because it was bright with shimmering shine. Felt like silk and flowed so gently and sexy. For the first time in my life. I take pride in the appearance and feel of my hair by having regular deep conditions. I stop for a few months due to my life situations and it dyed.
My hair looked like i came out a Hollywood rich stars salon.
That deep conditioning is their secret.
They recommended a few Aveda Products for my type of hair and conditions. It's been a year since that first visit. I still get my conditions. My hair grew and full. I continue using the Aveda products recommend ed.
In closing. If it was a drug then I'm hooked.
