Does the Ion Wireless Air Mouse Really Work?

Rate this post

Being as many of us are glued to our computers for numerous hours each day we want a mouse that is going to be a top performer and maybe speed things up a little. It could be that we need the Ion Wireless Air Mouse. This is a wearable mouse that straps to the hand and replaces the need for a stationary mouse.

Overview
The Ion is fully integrated and provides all the functions that a normal mouse would be expected to perform while connected to the wearer/operator.

The Claim
The claim is that the ergonomic design helps to prevent or lessen the effects of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which is an affliction of the wrist and forearm causing pain and discomfort that strikes many people who are on the computer for long periods of time throughout the day for business of pleasure.

The Hype
The hype is realized both from the fact that the Ion Wireless Air Mouse it is said to help the C.T.S sufferers and from the fact that it is the future of computing accessories. Just as cell phones have cut the cord for communications so too will devices like the Ion Wireless Air Mouse allow us to experience greater mobility away from our computers and devices.

The Cost
The Cost of the Ion Wireless Air Mouse is very minimal considering the amount of technological innovation it encompasses. The cost is around $80.00 depending on where you get it. That is a pretty small price to pay for full wireless capabilities incorporated in the Ion. Yes, you can get a regular wireless mouse cheaper but that still leaves you bound to an object to scroll the mouse on as opposed to the true wireless freedom from the Ion.

The Commitment
There really isn’t much in the way of commitment required for the Ion Wireless Air Mouse. You simply strap it to the hand when you are using the gadget and when not in use you simply drop it on the desk, into your computer bag or into the desk drawer. Doesn’t get much simpler or easier than that.

Evaluation
The evaluation of the Ion Wireless Air Mouse shows the product to be very intuitive and quite easy to control for basic functions it does take some getting used to get the hang of the functions. The unit connects via U.S.B port and is virtually plug and play. While some will revel in the “wearability” of the unit others may find it off putting and prefer to stay with a more traditional type mouse or an air mouse that is not wearable. The click functions are done by squeezing small buttons on the fingertip portion of the “glove” which is better described as a hand wrap really, and you have both right and left click functions and another button that pauses the motion control. One of the primary “issues” if you even want to call it that is the sensitivity of the unit when in full mouse mode, you need to keep the hand pretty steady as the unit is pretty sensitive, if it wasn’t we would probably complain about that! Overall the unit takes a little getting used to but performs the intended functions well enough.

Final Ion Wireless Air Mouse Review

All in all the Ion wireless Air Mouse is a pretty nifty unit. It does what it says it will do and that is

control the mouse functions on your computer while letting you roam up to 35 feet from the computer. Takes some getting used to but performs well after the learning curve. We are prepared to give thie Ion Wireless Air Mouse a Thumbs Up rating.

Our Recommendation
Some will love the Ion Wireless Air Mouse while others will not. It does what it says it will do but the “wearability” will entice some and repulse others. We would suggest that you try it before you buy it and decide for yourself it is something you really love or can completely do without. Another resource that some people were interested in were keyboards that were easier to read. We talk about one that got mixed reviews called the EZ Eyes.
