This tingling is common among lip plumpers, and signifies an allergic reaction taking place that actually gives the plumping effect.

You won’t be able to buy a tube of Maybelline Volume XL through their official website, so the price for the product may vary depending on where you purchase it. Several websites offer a tube of Maybelline Volume XL for $7 and other sites have it priced for as low as $5.
The Commitment
The effects of Maybelline Volume XL are short-lived. After applying the product, you’ll probably get a good 2-3 hours before the results begin to wear off. So, whenever you feel like you need to add volume to your lips, all you have to do is swipe on some of the product and you’re covered for the next couple of hours.

Users couldn’t help but rejoice when mentioning their experience Maybelline Volume XL. What most appreciated about the product was the subtle citrus smell it gave off without the nasty after taste. I buy a tube every year, and like the tingle. It's easy to use and I hate to run out. I order from ebay sellers with free shipping. I like it as a gloss, and didn't expect my lips to get big. The colors are subtle, but next up , I'll try a matte finish long wearing bright color just for a kick.
I am an occasional user of Maybelline products but usually find myself gravitating toward CoverGirl and Revlon products when I am visiting the drugstore. Can someone tell me if this product in particular is still being sold? I looked for it but did not see it in any of my local stores. Perhaps it is just my area or they no longer sell it. Either way, I thought I would give it some research and see if it was worth purchasing. From the reviews I see on here, it looks like it doesn't really work but can be a great gloss nonetheless.
The Maybelline lip plumper doesn’t give you full big lips. I bought this knowing it probably wouldn’t work, but did I expect it to for seven dollars? No, I didn’t, but I thought what the heck it’s worth a try. It tingles when you apply it which makes you think it is doing something, but I’ve been using it faithful for a month and I still have the same thin lips. I would have been upset if I spent fifty dollars on the product, but since I didn’t and I still use it as a gloss it is worth seven bucks. Maybe the high dollar lip plumper’s work, but this one doesn’t.
I’ve been wanting to try the Maybelline lip plumper for some time just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Seems like everyone has their own version nowadays hard to try them all. This on is definitely on the list.
Like I mentioned in another comment, my fave so far is easily LipFusion. I’ve seen the best results with LipFusion but everyone has different results with different brands if I go by what my friends and I have experienced.
