Does Meaningful Beauty Really Work?

Rate this post

A lot of skincare products come and go but then there are some that appear as though they are here to stay. One of these may be Cindy Crawford’s skincare line Meaningful Beauty. It didn’t take long for it to take off when it first hit the market in 2005. So where is it at today?

What Is Meaningful Beauty?

It is a line of skincare products that actress Cindy Crawford created with Jean-Louis Sebagh who is a French cosmetic doctor. As a plastic surgeon he has been recognized for his anti-aging surgeries and the use of botox. The product line was developed to be sold through direct response marketing for the company Guthy-Renker.

The Product Line

There are several products within this line. They can be purchased separately or they can be bought as a package such as the Introductory Deluxe System which includes:

  • Skin softening cleanser
  • Youth Activated Melon Serum
  • Anti Aging Day Cream
  • Age Recovery Night Cream
  • Lifting Eye Cream

Each of these are marketed as if they each provide a specific purpose. You can also choose a 7 product introductory system.

The Ingredients

At the time that Meaningful Beauty first came out on the market, there was not the knowledge or attention being paid to ingredients in skincare products that may not be good for the skin. Many women and some men are bcoming more proactive as to what they are using on their skin.

It is one thing to know what the ingredients are but another to know whether they can be harmful or not. Quite often there is controversy over what is harmful and what isn’t, so that can add to the confusion.

An example

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate/Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS)

This is a common ingredient in many skin care products. In recent years the issue has been raised that it can be detrimental to the skin.

This ingredient is found in the MB Skin Softening cleanser and is listed as the 5th ingredient.

Phenoxyethanol

This is another ingredient that some experts are saying can be harmful. It too is an ingredient in the MB Skin Softener Cleanser and is listed as the last ingredient.

So What Does All This Mean?

Those that are pro organic skincare are going to be quick to point out what are believed to be potentially harmful ingredients. However, there are some things that have to be kept in mind about this.

  1. What scientific proof is there to back up the adversity of the ingredient on the skin or health?
  2. In small amounts is it considered to be safe to use for skincare?

So, when you are doing research into skin care product ingredients, or hear negative stories about the ingredients they contain, then you need to do your own full research to come to your own conclusion.

Some may say that because it is approved to be on the open market then it must be okay. That may not always be the case.

The Secret Ingredient

Every product that is sold successfully usually has a unique selling proposition. For skincare products the hype usually revolves around one specific ingredient.

For the MB products line keeping in mind these are individual products they each have their own ingredients. As an example the Youth Activating Melon Serum is promoted as having “encapsulated melon leaf stem cells”. Sounds impressive and especially since one of the latest buzz words is “stem cells”.

Before getting all hyped up about this though it means doing some research into whether stem cells in skincare products can really penetrate the skin and be effective. The results of the research may be surprising.

Do The MB Line Of Products Work?

What most are going to care about is whether the Meaningful Beauty products deliver on the promises that it makes.

Cindy Crawford

                               Youtube

Cindy Crawford is the face for this skincare line and there is no doubt that she is still very beautiful at the age of 53 as she was born in 1966.  So is it her Meaningful Beauty Line of skincare products that are keeping her youthful?

The Reality:

                                                                                                      Youtube

There is plenty of information on the internet that indicates that Cindy does not just rely on her skincare line to maintain her beauty. She has stated that she has relied on botox as well as other beauty treatments to maintain her looks.

                                  Youtube

Not everyone can afford botox or surgical procedures for anti aging, nor does everyone want them. So this raises the question as to whether using the MB line of products is helpful and basically better than nothing. What it all indicates is that the products are not miracle products. That doesn’t mean that they are not beneficial.

The Results:

There are a lot of mixed reviews as to whether this line of skincare products is all that it is cracked up to be. However, it is still going strong after many years, but this raises another question?

  • Is it still going strong because it is proven to be a very efficient skincare line? Or…
  • Is it still going strong because the company is still involved in heavy marketing?

Looking At The Reviews:

To get somewhat of an accurate picture it means looking at the feedback of those real customers who have tried the product for themselves and having nothing to gain by offering a review whether it is negative or positive.

The 5 pkg introductory product system out of 283 reviews received a 4 star rating. When looking at the individual products they vary in the ratings with some of the products being like more than others.

The Cost

                                        Amazon

The price is a big factor when it comes to skincare. You don’t know whether you are paying for the name. Or whether you are buying into the hype or whether it is based on the quality of the product.

The 5 piece travel kit can be bought on Amazon for $44.85. BUT keep in mind these are the travel size so they are very small. So for example, if you were going to buy the regular size of the Serum for one ounce you would pay about $39. This is not a cheap product nor is it super expensive either.

The Take-Away

Youtube

We have looked at the MB product line realistically. Which means pointing out that there may be some negative aspects to. However, there is no skincare product on the market that can turn back the clock when it comes to aging. No matter how much they may allude to this.

The key with a product line such as this is to consider it as a preventative. Keeping the skin clean, moisturized and protected from the sun are the true secrets to skincare that works. All of the products within this skincare line are capable of doing this. So over all the products have a lot of good quality ingredients in them, and it is reasonably price.

Please share with us your experiences with the Meaningful Beauty Skincare line.

  • I have to say I’ve been trying to meaningful beauty products for about two weeks now and I’ve never had any wrinkles and the craziest thing is is that now I’ll cross my four head I have some that are visible so it’s like I did this product bring them out ? I’m pissed .

  • I'm 31 years old, I don't smoke and I don't drink much so I got this just as a preventative measure. I had been using expensive drug store creams like l'oreal which were okay, but I wanted to try this. I honestly noticed my skin was really soft, smooth and healthier feeling after. I then noticed the lines around my eyes were less noticeable. I used the product sparingly. I continued my usual skincare routine of washing, exfoliating and using toner so I really only use the cleanser that comes in the kit once in a while. I don't know the longterm changes my skin might have or wrinkles that are prevented, but as of now, having used it for about two months, my skin feels soft, my fine lines aren't as defined and it's caused no acne or dry skin for me. I would recommend this to others, but just tell them to figure out what products work well with their skin. It's not for everyone, but everyone has different skin!

  • Hi everyone. You'd have to take my word for it but I've worked in aesthetics and plastic surgery for years. In support of some other comments here, I guarantee that Cindy Crawford's face does not come solely from "Meaningful Beauty" as the infomercials imply. Gravity pulls face muscles downward as you turn 30, 40, 50. Collagen loss takes its toll on EVERY middle-aged woman. No serum or lotion lifts muscles and plumps cheeks to that degree. Cindy's had fillers & botox at a bare minimum. I'd bet $$ she's had a face lift. I can't claim that for sure only because I could be s....u...ed.
I resent the claims these celebs make to sell products. Just because they can get away with it doesn't make it morally right. People buy the products and end up disappointed, even depressed thinking "Why didn't I get the same results as the women in the infomercial?" Because those women have been to plastic surgeons or aesthetic dermatologists, that's why. Unkind to give false hopes.
We are getting so used to seeing these pretty middle-aged women thanks to all the things they can do now, that we forget what a middle-aged woman REALLY looks like without professional alterations. I've had work done myself after wasting $hundreds on misleading claims from these products.

Sure, they can give you a "glow" or make skin "smoother" (their favorite words). That's easy. You can buy that for $15 at the drug store. In reality most of us need help with wrinkles and sagging which you will never get from a bottle unless it's an instant face lift that lasts one evening, and I don't know if those work. What if it deactivates at 9:00 p.m....Yyyyikes!

  • I have been using Meaningful Beauty now for several years and love it, particularly the serums. I've had tons of compliments from friends and strangers who cannot believe I look so much younger than my actual age. These products make my face and neck silky smooth, and never burn the eyes or cause skin breakouts. I temporarily stopped using MB products for awhile, and what a mistake. No other products I tried took care of the fine lines or smoothness of the skin, and my neck was starting to get lines. So I am back to MB products, and already notice the difference.

I'd suggest that you purchase MB products from Ebay, not directly from the MB website, as it is a "sign up and buy 30 day supply, then autopay for 90 day supply thereafter". Better to purchase the products you want to try from Ebay, whether 90 or 30 day, so you are not obligated with a pay plan. You can buy entire kits or individual products on Ebay. Be sure though you're not getting the older products when the MB packaging were all white bottles and tubes. Check the current packaging on the MB website to make sure you're getting the latest product. They changed their packaging in 2016 or 2017 to mostly clear bottles with 'MB' on the top, and their tubes are still white but have purple print with MB at the top.

  • O JUST ORDERED THIS GUY SAY EYE CREAMS THE BEST! WELL I HAVE PAID MORE MONEY FOR EYE CREAM THEN THE WHOLE LOT COST..I THINK THE SERUMS DO A TEMPERARY JOB BUT WHO CARES EVERYTHING WOMEN DO TO FACE IS TEMPOARY TILL YOU WASH OFF! THERE IS NO FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH IN A BOTTLE OUT THERE BUT IF EVEN 3 THINGS WORK O WILL BE HAPPY! DON'T BUY TATCHA STUFF NOT WORTH THE HIGH PRICE!! MADE MY FACE WORSE! MOUTH GOT SO WRINKLED UP O QUIT! WELL WHAT ABOUT SNAIL PRODUCTS THY WORK? IT DON'T MATTER I'M 58 AND HATING IT..SUN..SMOKING AND POP IN GONNA CHANGE SOME STUFF IF THAT DON'T WORK...BOTOX!!!

  • This product didn't work well on my skin. I noticed after using dark circles prouduct I got extremely darker. I immediately stop. I'm not satisfied with this product I'm going back to clinque.

  • I've been using Meaningful Beauty for a number of years. I'm 76 and no one ever guesses my age. I look maybe 50 so am extremely pleased with the products. I'm in the fitness industry so eat healthy and workout regularly as well.

  • I was given MB as a gift almost 2 years ago and i was excited because i always wanted it since i had seen the commercials. I am 35 and my skin is oily and can break out sometimes. I find these products even out my skin and smooth out the bumps and make it look fresh and bright and it seems to keep my skin from breaking out. It feels good and i have not had any negative side effects. I am going to need more soon but due to the negative customer service reviews i am hesitant to buy directly from the company. My favorite products are the creme de serum, lifting eye cream and decollete neck cream. Great results.

  • First of all, I am a product junky. I have spent so much money and have tried so many anti-aging products. I am now 44 yrs old and finally decided to try Meaningful Beauty. I wish I would have tried it sooner, but I really thought it was a gimmick. I am happy to say, I was wrong. The serum is AWESOME. I could see almost an immediate improvement in my undereye skin, which has always been my problem area. And to top it off, it is so AFFORDABLE!
    I L💗VE MEANINGFUL BEAUTY!!!!!

  • I think that the facial serum Cindy Crawford uses is just another infomercial scam. If it looks to good to be true it probably is. Save your money
