The hype surrounding the Neato Botvac Connected is essentially that this unit is the most advanced and intelligent robot vacuum on the market and that it outperforms all other robot vacuums because of its design and features.

The Cost
The cost of the Neato Botvac connected varies from retailer to retailer. Bed, Bath and Beyond lists it for $899.99 while Amazon Canada lists it for $999.99. Do your homework and shop around for the best available price at stores in your region.

The Commitment
The commitment for the Neato Botvac Connected is pretty minimal. You simply plug in the charger/docking station in a corner of the house and attach the Botvac. It stays there until you decide to set it free to clean your carpets either by remote control or by pre-programmed times. Pretty easy and simple.

Evaluation
When you look at the majority of robo-vacs the first thing that seems to spring to mind is that they are mostly round (this seems to be slowly changing as other companies see the benefit of a square design) but

the Neato is squared off on the front corners. This feature alone causes it to stand out as it certainly makes more sense unless you live in a round house. The cleaning power of the Neato Botvac Connected is simply incredible for a robot vacuum. When tested it picked up over 66 grams of the 70 grams of various contaminates that were spread over the test room. These included hair, dirt, food droppings and even some larger items like a Nerf dart to see if it was in any way impeded…it was not. Add this cleaning power to the amazing remote features and you have a game changer in robovac technology. The Neato is Wi-Fi enabled meaning you can access the vac from anywhere and put it into motion whenever you like. Last minute company coming for dinner? Access the vac from work and set it free to clean before you get home. If you have no surprise company coming you can simply program the vac to clean at the same time every day or for whatever schedule you prefer. It encompasses an ultra-performance filter and has different modes such as eco and turbo for a variety of performance options. The Li-Ion battery has unprecedented power and recharges in very little time. It has a combo brush and unlike most robovacs a spiral blade brush. The Neato app can be run from both android and iOS devices.

Final Neato Botvac Review

Taking just the cleaning power and the squared edges into account the Neato Botvac Connected rises above other robovac’s by a wide margin. If you also factor in the cutting edge technology that has been included in this model such as the ability to program the unit to clean whenever you like or to even remotely connect to the unit with your smartphone or computer to put into action then this unit stands out even more. The included features are smart and functional and the cleaning power is unsurpassed which makes us give this unit a firm and hearty endorsement.

Our Recommendation
We always like to bring different options for making floor cleaning a lot easier because it is a never ending task. There are some big names that are known in the vacuum industry like Kirby and Hoover for example. Another one is the Swiffer line of products and in the past we talked about the Swiffer SweeperVac which has gotten some good reviews. The Neato Botvac really is a step up though when it comes to not taking any manpower to operate it.
