The lid locks in place, and also has a pout spout making it easier to use for different tasks in the kitchen. You can also swap out a 40 ounce bowl that has the same handy lid. It’s futuristic look isn’t just a pretty face, as the electronic control panel lets you work this with the touch of a few buttons.

If it does a great job at what it's supposed to do then I'm sure it's well worth the price. Especially for those who like to make a wide variety of drinks with their blenders. So all I need to do is be careful with the industrial blades and the fact that it's heavy and it'll perform to high standards. Having a blender that lasts is something worth owning for a while. I think I found the solution for a new blender.
Reading the rest of the reviews here is making me want one! I love to make all kinds of smoothies and I make flapjack bars with a base of ground nuts, and the biggest problem I have found is a sufficiently powerful blender. The blender I have at the moment will work for like, 30 seconds, then unless I only put a very small amount in, the blades can't cope and the motor goes crazy as the blades detach. It's a terrible sound and I keep thinking it's going to explode. The Ninja blenders sound like they would make short work of my nuts.
Hands down this is the clear winner when it comes to price and power. I’ve had one for years and friends and family have all made comments about how amazing it is when they’ve had the opportunity to try it. They’re even more surprised when they hear about the price (now so much more affordable). They imagine this is several hundreds of dollars… and it’s simply not. To me it’s a restaurant grade appliance that backs up all of its claims. I haven’t had trouble blending anything and have never feared the durability of its blades or motor. I never thought I could be so excited about owning a blender, but I’m always glad to show this bad boy off to all of my guests.
I love love love my Ninja blender! It is the only blender I need for everything from soups to dips and more. I really do use it all the time. It is so easy to clean too, because all I need to do is remove the blades, wash them, and then wash out the inside of the container. I highly recommend it to all of my friends who are in the market for a new blender, as I know that it definitely will not disappoint. It is powerful and it gets the job done quickly and effectively. Definitely worth the investment!
This is a definite winner in my book it takes care of multiple needs for a single gal living in a studio efficiency with a small kitchen. From smoothies in summer to baking in winter and more it is just too fun. I will agree you have to be careful with those industrial blades though that will, not may, send you to the hospital for some stitching! It is a heavy machine, one that will certainly last for many years if it is taken care of as directed.
Having a wide range of speed on a blender is very important and it really sucks when the highest setting isn't so much different from the low setting. I've owned blenders that work very well, but generally they don't last long. I've owned only one blender that lasted longer than 2 years and the rest didn't fare well with heavy use. Oh well, as long as the ninja kitchen gives me good performance for a minimum of 1 year I'll be happy.
I love my Ninja. I got it for Christmas 2012 and it works great! Just be careful washing the blades because they're very sharp. Excellent investment and a worth the money.
