Does Omega XL Really Work?

Rate this post

Omega XL is a joint pain relief formula that claims to use a marine-based “super oil” to provide the body with the omega-3s it needs to fight inflammation and the side effects it brings. But what most people want to know is whether or not it’s worth trying.

Overview
There are plenty of all natural joint pain remedies on the market right now, and many focus on the anti-inflammatory properties of omega-3s as their method of treating these sort of symptoms. The benefit being claimed is that since it’s all natural there is less possibility of harmful side effects, and it’s preferable to using prescription drugs if you’re figuring to be on medication for your joint pain for the long term.

The Claim
The makers of Omega XL claim that you’ll be able to get relief from joint pain the same day that you take it. They also say that it is made with a patented marine oil that is all-natural, and backed by over 30 years of clinical study. They say it can help with the stiffness often experienced in joints as we age. It should make the joints more flexible and mobile than they currently are. They say that due to the smaller size of these gel caps they’re easier to swallow than conventional fish oil capsules. No time frame is claimed as to how fast these results are supposed to occur.

The Hype
Fish oils have been marketed heavily over the last 10 years or so, riding on the success of the book The Zone Diet to enter the mainstream consciousness of why getting fish oil with omega-3s is important. But the thing is that he recommended pharmaceutical grade fish oil so you have to be very particular about what you’re putting into your body or it doesn’t make sense to go through the motions.

The Cost
The per bottle price of Omega XL is $60 for 60 capsules, which represents a two week supply if

taken daily as directed. If you sign up for their auto-shipment they’ll send you a free bottle so you’re getting a one-month supply for $60. You can also get some savings by buying larger bottles, for example you can save $20 by buying a 120 count bottle for $100 or a 5 month supply for $206 and avoid the automatic charges. They say this is all covered by a risk free 90 day guarantee,

The Commitment
Since this comes in pill form you’re not really committing to much more than taking the pills as directed. Of course if you do see results with this you’d be committing to taking them as long as you want to receive the benefits, which some aren’t willing to do. When you consider taking any sort of supplement for the long term, you always have to scrutinize it even more than something that is only meant for the short term.

Evaluation
There are a few inherent problems when it comes to Omega XL. The first is that there’s just too many people saying that it flat out didn’t work for them. That’s hard to look past, especially since there are others that are reporting negative reactions to it. We were able to find a few users that said it worked for them, but these were few and far between, and could almost be written off as statistically insignificant when looking at the larger pool of data.

If you’re shopping around for a way to get rid of joint pain, and you’re set on getting one that is peer reviewed and gets the go-ahead from other consumers, this isn’t it. Although we have found there are some that are worth trying, such as Joint Juice which earned our Solid Try rating due to a combination of positive customer feedback, price point, and quality of ingredients.

Final Omega XL Review

Omega XL is getting our Thumbs Down rating, based on a considerable amount of negative user feedback, and the fact that their

labeling is potentially misrepresentative of what you’re getting, and at the very least confusing. For a product of this nature we’d expect to see a large majority of users express happiness with their purchase, and that’s not what we’re seeing. Even if you look past the complaints with the ordering and billing process, of which there are many, the underlying feedback shows that even those that didn’t experience a billing problem were underwhelmed with the results, or lack thereof.

Our Recommendation
This is a product you can safely avoid buying, and taking. We found no substantial evidence that would prove that this works, or that it contains the ingredients listed on the label. The unfortunate part of all natural products is that there’s no governing body that monitors them, or investigates their claims, so you really have to trust what you’re putting into your body and what these companies are saying their products contain.

What do you think? Does Omega XL work or not?

  • Omega XL gave me serious heartburn after taking 1 everyday for about 1 week. I tried taking it with food, midday, early am on 3 or 4 different occasions. 3 different times for 1 week periods and I cannot stomach the omega. Fish oil should help like the advertise but omega XL does not. It did my husband the same way.

  • Clinical trials have demonstrated that supplements like this one DO NOT work at all to reduce pain or inflammation. The only thing that may actually work is to eat fresh fish which is rich in these omega oils. The supplements are not absorbed by the body in such a way that would make them effective. Anyone who says they worked is experiencing the placebo effect.

  • I've actually had pretty decent results from Omegaxl... I've had 2 knee surgeries and a shoulder surgery (old sports injuries) and now that I'm older, those areas often creak and get sore easily doing things like crouching, kneeling and reaching over head to put heavier stuff on top shelves, etc. I'm still pretty active.. and I don't know how to explain it other than my problem joints feel.. "more lubricated" or something. I know that sounds weird... it's just how I can describe it.

The stuff is on the expensive side, no doubt. But just the fact that there's no "fish burps" after taking it makes it worth it for me.

    Thanks,

    Alan

  • This is working great for me it took a while but it's wonderful. I have tendenitis and pain all over my body .I have been to doctors but they couldn't find the ccaurse. They put me on priscription meds but didn't work

  • I tried Omega XL for lower back pain in mid 2016. The have a 90 day money back guarantee. After about 65 days on the product and getting no relief, I called to cancel when the company representative said that he would send me two more bottles and that I should "reload" as it typically takes 90 days for the product to work. With no additional pain relief, I called back to cancel the order after 93 days since my initial order. After much discussion and repeatedly being placed on hold, I was told the only refund would be for the last 2 bottles ($58) since I was 3 days beyond the money back guarantee. So, they kept over $200 for something that doesn't work.

This is a scam and you should be aware that if the product doesn't work within 30 days, call and get your money back, or else you will be sorry.

  • I'm 38 y.o. Physical Therapist and fairly healthy. My 75 y.o. roommate who took just 2 caplets of this 2 wks. ago day one of her use was sweating profusely "all day and into the night". I got curious so I asked to try myself too( 2 caplets 1x/day). I didn't sweat like she did but when it came to my exercise time I was sweating 3-4x than I normally did. Now 2 wks later I noticed my metabolism is a lot faster I don't have to exercise everyday for 1-2 hrs. like I used to for the past 12 yrs. I normally exercise around bedtime and if I don't even for 1 night/day, my pants would feel tighter around my waist and it adds up the more days in a row that I don't exercise (Shakira/Beyonce type cardio/hiphop/bellydancing). Now, I wake up in the morning and my waist/whole body has same result/feeling as if I did my 1-2 hr intense work out even if I just went straight to bed!! :) This supplement is simply amazing and God sent!!! :)

  • I have taken Omaga XL for 2yrs, before taken it my knee pain was so severe I used a cane to walk, & was preparing for knee surgery on both knees, but now surgery has been cancelled, no cane is needed, I wear my 3 inch heels, as before!!!! For me it's a BLESSING from GOD!!!!!!!! To him be the GLORY!!!!!!

  • I would like to other medication ,but I do not have all cash to other it .what can I do now?

  • Hi: I have viewed your website after seeing Larry King on TV last night. He seemed convincing and real. To-day, I read this website and now wonder whats going on. My wife suffers from arthritis all over her body. Besides having endured a heart a tack, monitior attached in her body, She like me have been ill since we were both teen-agers. Got involved with major health companies such as Matol and Mannatech. I think it is a ridiculous way to sell health products. It would be easy to gather information and present to the public. I have jotted a few things I have endured. I would appreciate hearing back from you, if you would. Any information you could healp me regarding health products would be most appreciated. Sincerely, Warren
