Overview
If you’re wanting to get in on the juicing craze, a proper juicer is essential of course. You can try to get by with a blender, but those are really not made to double as juicers. Some of them are pretty good at what they do, like the VitaMix. But if you want to get serious you’ll eventually find yourself checking out cold-pressed juicers so that you can lock in more of the nutrients and not lose them to an overheating blender.
The Claim
The makers of the ProVita juicer say that you’re getting 250 watts of power with it, and that it has a two stages when it juices. They also admit that there are only three settings, you can either turn it off or on, and there’s also a reverse switch. They say that the design of the product saves space on your countertop, and because of its larger-sized spout it’s easier to serve the juice that you make. They say that this doesn’t heat up like a normal blender or juicer does, due to its lower RPMs, which means it preserves more nutrients in the fruits and vegetables.
They also point out several of the accessories that it comes with that should make the juicing process go more smoothly. There is a tamper so that you can push the food down, there’s screens that you can place inside the juicer to trap more of the pulp if you want more pulp-free juice. They say it has an auto-cleaning mechanism so that the screens get wiped clear which yields more juice.
The Hype
The hype comes from the claim of cold-pressed juicers that they provide more nutritious juice because they stay cooler, and thus do not burn off any of the nutrients. The claim suggests that other blenders get so hot that they end up compromising some of the vitamins and minerals that are in the foods being juiced.
The Cost
They’re asking $400 for the ProVita juicer, which puts it on the higher end of today’s juicer options, but on par with other cold-pressed juicers. When you’re comparing prices you need to make sure it’s an apples to apples comparison, because cold-pressed juicers are generally more expensive than a blender or a regular juicer.
The Commitment
Compared to using a regular blender or juicer this is just about the same sort of commitment. You have to go out and buy the ingredients that you want to juice, like apples, oranges, kale, spinach and more, and then get them all prepared to be juiced, then do the actual juicing, and then clean up the resulting mess. There are a ton of juice delivery services available these days, so if you were doing a juice cleanse or were only going to juice for a short duration, like to kick off a diet plan, these might be less commitment and a cost savings in the end.
Evaluation
The ProVita juicer is a relative newcomer to the scene of cold pressed juicers. These are special types of juicers that are supposed to have a masticating effect, meaning they pretty much chew up the fruits and vegetables so that you don’t have to. It mimics the work our teeth do so you don’t have to feel like a cow munching on a stalk of celery just to get all of its good stuff out. When you compare this to a blender or a typical juicer you are basically just trying to cut the food up into really tiny bits, rather than mashing it to release all of the juice inside. It’s also blending up the fruit, but it’s doing both mashing and blending so you get the best of both worlds.
The ProVita Juicer is getting our
Risky Try rating because there just isn’t much known about it other than what you’ve seen on TV or in its promo. In the meantime there are other cold press juicers that have hit the market and stood the test of being used in real situations and have passed with flying colors. Take for example the Breville Fountain Crush Masticating Slow Juicer. It is $100 less, ships free, and has stellar reviews from a considerable number of users. It also has all of the features claimed by the Pro Vita, including being very quiet, being able to change directions, and keeping your nutrients intact.Our Recommendation
This may be a fine juicer, but why be one of the first people to try it out at $400 when there are suitable alternative for less money that have already achieved success in the marketplace? There’s no reason to be a guinea pig for a product with such a high price tag on it when there are others available that already show they can perform well.

I was not totally surprised to read the two negative comments listed here. As with any mechanical products, when they come off the assembly line, there are always going to be mistakes here and there.
I purchased this juicer because it was made by the same inventor who designed the water filter that I currently use in my kitchen. Whenever I have had issues with my water filter the company has been excellent at resolving the issues. I have had NO problems with my juicer and I've had it for several years. And as was mentioned, the fact that it is a slow masticating type juicer is what sold me. When this juicer first came out, there was a nice savings offer that was made to those who had purchased the water filter. BTW the water filter is called AQUA TRU. So I did not have to pay the $400.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM GIVING THIS PRODUCT ONE STAR AND THIS SYSTEM WILL NOT ALLOW A ONE STAR RATING! This is the worst purchase I've made! I also saw the advertisement on the Today show in January 2017 and this was an impulse buy. I finally took the juicer out of the box and used it today, July 1, 2017 for the first time. I read ALL the instructions BEFORE I used this product. I was able to put a few pieces of ginger through it. When I tried to take the machine apart to clean it, the thing would not budge. It would not open all the way. After an hour of trying everything, I called customer service for assistance. The customer service representative seemed at a loss for words but not shocked that the machine had issues. He continued to say "use all the force you have to twist the hopper to the open sign." I confirmed to him that was had been doing this for over an hour prior to calling them, but I tried it again while he was on the phone. It didn't work. He then said, "don't you have a husband or something that can help you?" Needless to say this ticked me off!! I basically told him hat I called customer service for assistance, he then said, "well, I just thought that two brains would be better than one in trying to figure this out." I said that is why I called customer service, he then disconnected the phone call. I called back and got Eric again and informed him that I will be sending this product back and want a full refund. He provided the address to their distribution center 13192 Sarah Place. Unit B Ontario CA 91761.
Have all these fruits and veggies cut up and the thing won't even turn on. No help from customer service, no YouTube videos .
Today show purchase as well. Plugged it on and nothing. Customer was no help I feel dubbed.
I took a chance on the juicer promo from the Today Show. I suppose if its not at advertised, losing 89$ is better than spending $400, as I have been looking for a juicer for a while.
There's not a lot published about it, only one positive YouTube video and a few user reviews like the ones above.
Still, if it doesn't work well, one still feels ripped off.

There are many juicers on the market and arguments about which does better and why. I have used many juicers, some of the best available, some of the worst available. The ProVita Juicer is not available, so it is a non-starter. The reason? It is one of the worst available! I ended up buying a Bella, which is far superior and finally a Hurom, which is among the best. In addition to its quality of workmanship and design, it also includes feature which self-cleans the screen, which tends to take the most time to clean. But, even that juicer, one must treat respectfully. The ProVita is total unmitigated junk. Stay away from junk. You get what you pay for.
I bought mine. as well on the today show. I have used several others and absolutely love it. I actually have my family juicing now. If the auger and other parts on top not secure it wont turn on and that is for safety. If you have all of your ingredients bagged and pre packed in fridge, you just throw it in and you are ready to go. sorry many of you had issues. I myself love it and have had no issues at all.
Bought this through the Today Show. I have been extremely happy with it and really feel like i did get a steal! Works as good as any other masticating juicer. But, more importantly, I'm very happy with customer service! I broke the strainer basket (my fault), called costumer service and was told they didn't have any in stock and would get back to me in 48-72 hours. Was somewhat concerned, but was very surprised to find a brand new strainer at my front door with 2 days of making the phone call!!!
The Juicer sucks and not worth the money. My strainer cracked after 3 weeks of using it. Every time i make a juice i have to stop at least once sometimes twice and take it apart to clean it because it gets clogged. i do not recommend it unless you have 45 minutes to make a juice every morning which i don't!

what customer service? I got no number. It did say no refunds, no returns, no exchanges. Now I know why, it didn't hold up AT All. What a terrible product. The sellers should be ashamed of themselves.
For the gal who had trouble getting the machine disassembled for cleaning:
The black thing just pulls straight up and out, as does the mesh strainer. They are only held in place by suction from the rubber gaskets. The bowl turns about half an inch clockwise to lock, .and then turn it back half an inch counterclockwise and with force, pull it straight up. Use the white tabs that interlock as guides.
I had trouble with the machine backing up with pulp too soon the first two times I used it. The third time was perfect. There is a white rubber piece on the bottom of the hopper that is shaped like a flag. Make sure that the "flagpole" is touching the edge of the hole in the bowl. I think that if it is pushed to far into the pulp chute it gets blocked.
Today, I got 32 ounces of juice from:
2 cups kale (center rib removed)
2 apples (took out the core, even though you have to)
1 pear (cored)
2 oranges, peeled
1 pomelo, peeled
2 carrots, unpeeled
I also got a lot more pulp into the pulp container. I am glad I took a chance on getting this slow juicer instead of the fast juicer, and so far so good. The toothbrush they give you makes cleaning the mesh strainer a breeze.
Btw, the juice was delicious. I hope my tips are helpful.
