Do Stabilicers Really Work?

Rate this post

If you happen to be one of those people who are subjected to snow and ice during the winter months, and you have to do a lot of walking in it, then you may want to think about investing in the Stabilicers.

Overview
Stabilicers are a simple set of cleats that you attach to your shoe wear when you have to walk in icy conditions. They are made so they give you better traction and can be really instrumental in preventing a slip on the ice.

The Claim
The claim made by the promoters of Stabilicers is that they are multi-directional so they don’t hinder your walking movement. They can be used on ice, snow or gravel.

The Hype
The hype is that you don’t have to invest in the entire shoe wear when you are using Stabilicers. You can still wear your favorite shoes or boots and remain safe when walking. What is also great about them is they are so small and compact you can easily carry them in your purse or backpack. You may want to keep a pair in the car so they are accessible when you need to get out onto the icy streets upon leaving your vehicle.

The Cost
For the Stabilicers you can expect to pay $13.99. which is really quite reasonable when you consider the potential protection they can offer.

The Commitment
There really isn’t too much of a commitment except remembering not to go out the door without them when the pavement is slippery. It doesn’t take much to put them on and off. You may have to get used to walking in them but you shouldn’t have a problem mastering this.

Evaluation
At first one may think that the Stabilicers are just another somewhat interesting gadget. But surprisingly they are a very popular item on Amazon. Plus, they have received some very good feedback. Out of 2,455 reviews they have received a 4.5 star rating. When you think about it, whether you like it or not there are times when you have to venture out in slippery weather. Even if you just have to clear the ice and snow off your walkways and driveways this can be somewhat of a challenge to keep your footing. Or, how abut when the dog just has to go out paying no mind to the weather? While we have talked about this being a good investment for the average person, they are something that would be very beneficial in the workforce for those who have to be out walking in this type of weather.

Final Stabilicers Review

We are going to give the Stabilicers a thumbs up review. They are not a hit and miss product and there certainly is a demand for them. It is a simple product but one that seems to have a lot of value to it. Plus the price is really quite reasonable.

Our Recommendation
While this is just one type of unique footwear there are some other interesting items that are unique for the feet like the Five Finger Shoes.

What do you think? Does Stabilicers work or not?

  • Yes, I think they work great! I am elderly and disabled and feel way more stable with them on than without.
However, be sure to remove them before you go indoors. They make walking on tile floors very slick.
