Does Zija Really Work or Is It a Scam?

There are several products out there like Zija that offer both a product and a business opportunity. Zija seems to be focusing more on the business opportunity, since you can’t buy the product directly from their website without the code for the person that referred you there. Although most wouldn’t consider this a red flag, we do, so read on to find out more.

The Claim
The claim from the original Zija beverage was that it is made with moringa leaves, which they claim has 4 times the calcium of milk, four times the vitamin A of carrots, twice the protein of yogurt, thrice the potassium of a banana, and a whopping 7 times the vitamin C of oranges. The thing is they say that is what fresh moringa leaves contain, and there’s no mention that fresh moringa leaves are used to create the drink.

They say that their SmartDrink helps support normal blood glucose levels, aids in digestion, is good for the immune system, has anti-aging benefits, provides heightened mental clarity, circulation, and energy. Everybody these days is jumping on the anti-aging bandwagon. It’s likely to be the claim of choice for the next 10-20 years as baby boomers get older and want to feel young again.

The problem is that not only does the main Zija website make its own claims, but their affiliates are free to make their own claims too, and they come up with things like fibromyalgia, a sleeping aid, and helping with allergies. Seems people can report it helping with anything under the sun, without producing much proof to back it up.

The Hype
All of these network marketing programs stir up their own hype by getting people to jump on board as affiliates and get excited about selling it. This can sometimes be infectious, and if you’re not careful you could find yourself getting swept up in it.

The Commitment
Using the products doesn’t require much commitment at all, but selling them would involve as much commitment as starting any business undertaking. You’d want to be strategic, learn about being an affiliate, set up an office space in your home, and dedicate a certain amount of hours per day or week to working at your business. You should expect to struggle for many months at the start as you learn what you’re doing, and not expect to get rich quick with Zija or any other opportunity out there. There’s just no getting around hard work and dedication.

Is Zija a Scam?
If Zija isn’t a scam, why do so many people think it is? The reason is that this isn’t the first drink of its kind to make the same sort of promises, and be set up as a multi-level marketing system of distribution. Products don’t exist in a bubble, they are introduced to a market that has seen and heard everything that has come before it, and it just happens sometimes that some products bear the burden of the sins of their predecessors.

To say something is a scam is to say that the company is trying to give a product of little or no value in exchange for money. No one claims McDonald’s is a scam because it’s commonly accepted that paying a few dollars for a hamburger is perfectly fine. Although McDonald’s produces that hamburger for a few pennies and makes billions of dollars every year. It’s not as if Zija is collected money and not providing a tangible product. Whether or not that product is of value is pretty subjective, just like a Big Mac. If you ask a vegetarian, they’d say it’s not a good transaction at all.

Final Zija Review

As far as being something to drink, use as a weight loss supplement, or apply to the skin, we can’t rightly give this our Thumbs Up rating. It’s just too hard to sift through the junk reviews out there and find anyone that is going to give their honest opinion without an ulterior motive. Those that are selling it are going to say it works, and those that buy it might think about starting to sell it.

The negative reviews are probably from those that tried to sell it, but didn’t have any luck. And there are probably those reviews out there that are from people that used these products and didn’t see any changes as promised.

Our Recommendation
We follow a simple rule. The more convoluted a system is the less likely it is that you should get involved with it. If a product is good, really good, it doesn’t need to be heavily pitched. You don’t see people going on and on about luxury cars, but they still sell tons of them every year because people know they’re

top of the line. If you’ve been on the receiving end of a heavy sales pitch by a Zija affiliate, you have to wonder if they really have your best interests at heart. And why does Zija feel that their products need to be sold as an MLM opportunity? Why not just sell directly to the consumer and cut out the middle man?

As far as a business opportunity, any product out there is what you make it. If you can get behind it, and believe strongly in it, then you can make it work for yourself. We can’t be the judge of your potential, but we can put out two sense in as far as Zija being a business opportunity you’d want to get involved in. One thing to keep in mind when dealing with health products like these is that you are selling products that people are going to ingest and put on their skin. You could feel responsible for any negative reactions they have. Also, if people feel like they’ve been cheated out of their money, they’re probably not going to like you to much afterward.

You want to align yourself with a product that doesn’t have a lot of risk involved, and that won’t alienate you from the people you sell to.

What do you think? Does Zija work or not?

  • I have been using Zija for 4.5 years. I have not been sick at all since I have been taking it........before Zija, I would get several sinus infections a year......none....nothing in 4.5 years.....no viruses, bacterial infections .........nothing......definitely worth the monthly price!!!!!!

  • Tried this product for 2 months. Nothing changed. It is not worth the money and the person selling it started overbilling us to the opoint of 3 times the original cost. Don't waste your time on this powder.

  • My entire family was pulled into the Zija MLM. There were many flags such as not listing the actual vitamin content on their products. Sure, they have no problem touting the benefits of Moringa and what is in Moringa but not Zija. They claim this is because its a proprietary formula. That's ridiculous, you cannot reverse engineer a formula by knowing how much vitamin A or calcium it has so I was not swayed. I took a sample in to my college lab during my undergrad and ran several qualitative and quantitative analysis' on the powder mix, thermogravimetric analysis, mass spec etc.. It has a large amount of sugar, caffeine, and about as much vitamin content as a gummy bear. Though the most bold claim was the credentials of their formulator Mr Russ Bianci. I attended a seminar with my sister who tried to get me to jump on the Zija bandwagon. Russ Bianci was introduced as a Neurosurgeon, PhD Biochemist from Harvard, and a Pharmacists. Now, that's about 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of medical school, 4 years of pharmacy school, 6 years of residency to be a neurosurgeon, and I'll be generous and say 4 years for is doctorate in biochemistry. So, 22 years of college? And during that time he managed to work for the Nestle company as well as several other companies. I suppose its possible but when he was introduced he was said to be a neurosurgeon by age 18. So I guess he was 3 years younger than the youngest brain surgeon in the US, not likely. And I called the universities which he claimed to attend and they have never heard of him. But these people don't utilize facts to tout their claims. They will just say something like, "Try it." The product is not what it claims and the formulator is a fraud.

    • David, Why explaining things we dont need to know just because you need to convince people you can run analysis on peoples' work and ideas? do you have a product? please you and your likes should stop things you don't know much about...Zija is good and will make it with your two eyes open or closed. Have that!

      • Jibo, your shot at David only makes readers think you sell the products. He has a lot of good points that he has backed up. To many people get screwed because they believe that others would not lie about products. I feel bad for the people who get sucked into Avon as well as other get rich deals that are to good to be true!

      • I think David got a good point . Why is the founder giving all these unreal titles of earning an educations to himself . I am glad David took a time to share some truth . This is enough for me not to consider because an old coworker is trying to get me to buy it ,and I am doing all my research before talking to him

  • Buyer Beware: First it is sold through an MLM and not directly to the consumer. Second I am always concerned with any company that claims they can slow, stop, or reverse the aging process, increase mental clarity, and improve circulation. Every day you wake up you are one day closer to death. Nothing can prevent that outcome. I did try the Zija Smart mix for 30 days and did not experience any of the great benefits the product claims. Also, Zija is not cheap. A 30 day supply for around $112.00. Unfortunately if Zija did what it claimed to do I could over look the high cost. Your money might be better spent on a bottle of Flintstone Multi Vitamins.

  • I am a Woman, Wife, and Mother. My weight has been out of control for at least 7 years now since I had my oldest. I have tried IT WORKS, Advocare, Herbal life, Green Tea...you name it. Cabbage soup diets, banana diets....etc. Then I tried ZIJA. Above anything else I FEEL HEALTHY and good for the first time in 7 years. I have never tried anything that has made me feel this way. NO jitters, stomach pains, shakes, or out of control appetite stuff that would normally lead me to take someone's head off if they yell at me. When I signed up for this and to this day...I don't care if someone uses my name to buy " from me" as the company so does market. I have even offered to sell my friends what I have on hand personally so they didn't have to enroll. The most important thing to me is that my friends family and anyone else feeling defeated in their health ventures at least be able to try this product. There is moringa leaf in. The only thing you have to lose is your health. I am now in within a month 25lbs less and have taken a total of 5 inches off. I haven't had to count calories, only salads or even not have that one beer I needed that one night. This has truly been an amazing experience for me.

  • I've been drinking zija super mix every morning for the last three years.I love it and it gives me my energy and I can tell a huge difference in how I feel . I don't drink coffee, so this is my morning routine. Helps me go to bathroom and I hardly ever go to dr. I would recommend to everyone who wants to feel better.

    • Hi, just wondering if you know what is the difference between Zija supemix and other brands of pure Moringa leaf powder, besides that these last ones are not so pricey?
Also, if you log on to Amazon.com you will find several distributors selling Zija supermix directly to the public a lot cheaper and with free shipping. How do these distributors have the ability to do that? Is Zija giving them a special price? And if this is the case, isint this a stab in the back for those who are trying to create a business in the Zija pyramid?

  • I actually have been drinking nutrients from zija's supermix for almost a year now.... for the past 7 years during allergy season, I had to take a singulair every night, a claritin every day, and had nasal spray for when I still had attacks.

Drinking that supermix was the ONLY thing i changed in my life the past year, and for the first time in 7 years, when allergy season came, I didn't have to take ONE SINGLE allergy pill of ANY KIND.... for the ENTIRE YEAR.... I've never felt better than I do right now and I know 100% it's bc of zija products. I now do the genm skincare line and the protein shakes. my whole family drinks the nutrients, and we'll never miss a day of it again.

Oh and did I mention I haven't had to go to the doctor in the past year either? May be a total coincidence, but I didn't get the flu (nor get the flu shot), got a cold once so i doubled up on the supermixes and it was GONE within a week. typically it lingers on for a month or two, no stomach bugs, nothing.

anyway... there's an honest review for you! haha

  • I am pretty much a skeptic on these MLM products. A friend said she tried zija and felt better in just a few days. I am 61 and have been feeling like crap for several months When my friend offered me a weeks worth of the zija drink mix for free I said why not. I am now on my 5th day. I started feeling better after my first dose. At first I was not willing to say it was the zija. Now after 5 days of incredible energy and the aches and pains gone I am convinced it is the zija. Would I pay 100.00 a month to keep feeling good? ABSOLUTELY!!!

  • It is sites such as this that are wrong! The person that wrote this does not even have enough pride to sign the work! This site picks a subject, do very little to no investigation and write something that is completely wrong, and the writer has no idea about.
I am yes a distributor for Zija. You may ask, am I rich no way far from it. I do not push Zija as many, I find out what the persons issues are and then suggest what I feel will help them with those issues. I got involved because I could not walk up my stairs because of the pain. I was offered the product, I took the product thinking “great another product full of promise that won’t work"! It has worked.
The energy is natural I do not fly and crash as other lab produced products cause a body to do. Am I completely out of pain, of course not? Moringa is a tree God has given us to help our body to heal itself, it is not a chemically produced pill that hides the symptoms. It will take time for my body to start healing just as if someone has surgery there is not a product out there that will heal that area in a blink of the eye. The Moringa tree does have the 90+ vitamins and nutrients our bodies require that we are no longer able to get from the food we eat. The companies that provide let’s use chickens for instance. They coup up those chickens in barns with no sun no room to move and the chickens themselves never get the benefits of the sun and earth they are supposed to get to be healthy, so their meat no longer gives the nutrients nor flavor we once received. So getting our REQUIRED nutrients and vitamins from our food is no longer an option. This tree that Zija has used to give the world their required nutrients is a product from the earth, not a chemistry lab.
When people like me get on the internet, we are seeking information not information put out there by, some individual or group of negative lazy individuals who write whatever they think will go viral. Without having any facts about what they are writing. My suggestion to the person or persons who wrote this, get some pride, if you’re thinking you are a writer then be a writer not a gossip page that has no facts!
