What is IGrow?

Igrow is a new hair loss device that is supposed to regrow your hair. It also offers to stop your hair loss. It works by using laser therapy to treat your hair loss and restore hair growth to your scalp. More specific the IGrow uses laser comb technology and is offered in a user-friendly approach.

How Does It Work?

It is a helmet device you put on your head that uses laser technology. A session for the iGrow are twenty-five minute sessions every other day. It operates similar to other laser therapy products. With LED diodes and lasers so it can stimulate and regrow hair at the scalp. It also offers adjustable sizes so that the IGrow helmet can fit to most heads, which can be used for more than just one person. It operates on low-level laser treatment (LLLT) and does not use rechargeable batteries, as the device must be plugged in while you’re using the product at all times.

Other Types of Treatments

      Scalp massage

One of the first choices for hair loss therapy is a scalp massage. Cheap and no side effects. It’s done by applying gentle pressure to your scalp or head area with your fingertips. This causes and encourages blood flow, which in return can promote hair growth.

      Essential oils

What are essential oils and what will they do for my hair? Essential oils are derived from certain plants. They were first used in aromatherapy and different varieties of alternative medicine. These oils are now being used for hair loss therapy as well. They use the essential oils sometimes more than one oil type to massage into your scalp to trigger hair growth. There is no concrete evidence yet to back up essential oils as a successful treatment for baldness. It is still too early to make that decision yet, as it is too early to have facts to back up if it is working out not.

      Anti-thinning shampoo

This method works just like it sounds. The shampoo will work in two ways. The shampoo will give you volume. Second, it also contains vitamins and amino acids that will generate a healthier scalp. Which in return produces more hair growth. You can buy these shampoos at your local drug stores and grocery stores. You can also get your doctor or health care provider to give you a prescription for a stronger version.

      Minoxidil

This is a type of hair growth supplement. Know by many as “Rogaine’. Minoxidil is an FDA approved product that’s available over the counter. You apply this product directly to your scalp once or twice a day for improved results. You may see thicker hair in those bald spots or small amounts of hair growth. It can take weeks to months to see results and you have to follow the instructions carefully. There have been mixed reviews on this product as some claim it is great and others not so much. There’s no guarantee it will work, but it’s an option for some males and females.

       Laser therapy

This treatment is normally done by a professional dermatologist or another skin specialist. The FDA recently cleared the way for some products to be used at home. The laser therapy treatment is meant to help re-grow your hair as well as making it thicker. The results vary from weeks to months. The biggest problem with laser therapy is the cost. Some treatments at home are hundreds to thousands of dollars. Your health care provider may cover a portion or a percentage. It is still is a pretty expensive option.

IGrow Customer Reviews

One user says:

I’ve used this for over a year now and absolutely nothing. It certainly has not decreased the amount of hair loss as it’s been getting worse.

Another user says:

I’ve used this for 1 week only BUT ITS GIVING ME HORRIBLE HEADACHES AND I NEVER GET HEADACHES IT HURT ON LEFT SIDE SHOOTING PAINS . I read they do cause headaches SCARY

Another comment:

Really works, but have to be a loyal user!

Not sure yet:

Product as described, too early for me to determine if there is tangible results.

Conclusion

Although some customers seem to be very disappointed in the IGrow product. After looking at various reviews it’s a split down the middle. Some love it and some don’t. Out of 155 reviews on Amazon, it has received a 3.4 star rating out of five. With 46% giving it a five star rating.

Give it a try

It wouldn’t hurt to give it a try for yourself if this is an option you are looking into. The IGrow offers a 60-day money-back guarantee as well as a 1 year manufactures warranty. While the treatments and causes for hair loss and hair growth can vary.

Getting a medical opinion

It is very important to talk and make an appointment with your doctor or physician. Your doctor or health care provider can detect any outstanding issues or problems you may be experiencing. Having said that it is always best to leave it up to a professional. They will be able to recommend related treatments that would be your best option for helping you rectify the problem or root cause. If you are experiencing hair loss, don’t hesitate to make an appointment with your health care provider or doctor right away.

Options

If you are looking for something a little more traditional and easier to use you may want to consider one of the shampoos that are being promoted to help prevent hair loss.

  • Reviewers seem to always think that their personal case applies to everyone and make definitive statements like "don't waste your money" or "it works". Each user will respond differently to laser light therapy for hair loss. Hair growth response will depend on the type of hair loss, skin tone, skin thickness, and dosage. Certain types of hair loss will not respond to laser light therapy, no matter what...this product and ones like it will not work for some people. If it doesn't work for you, then you may fall within this category and there's no point in telling others that it doesn't work and not to waste money. These types of products may also be less effective in people with a darker skin tone. Melanin in skin absorbs light. Likewise, melanin in skin will absorb the light coming from these products. The darker you are, the more melanin you have, and the more absorption of light...those with darker skin tone may want to increase dosage (speak with a trichologist first). About dosage, go to pubmed.com and find articles that reviewed laser light therapy dosage. You'll find that there is a very broad range of length of time and frequency of application...some articles say 2-3 times a week while others say up to 40 times a week. Once again, we're all different and dosage with respect to time and frequency will depend on the individual. A user must also consider how penetration of light into the skin has an influence on efficacy. Penetration of light will depend on the level of intensity of light, the thickness of a user's skin, and the distance of the light from the skin, (as well as the melanin concentration as stated above). The iGrow helmet has its own standard of light intensity, while other devices may have a different intensity of light. The intensity and distance of light to a user's scalp are probably the most important factors that will determine penetration of light into the skin. Optimal penetration needs to occur for this type of therapy to work. I'm assuming iGrow has figured out the optimal distance and intensity of light for best results.

So to sum it all up, there are A LOT of variables that may have an influence on whether or not this product (or others like it) will work for you. The research out there (once again look through pubmed.com) shows that this kind of therapy undoubtedly works...so bottom line: yes, it does work. Will it work for you? Possibly. But there's also a chance that it will not work for you. You have to try it out on your own.

Now as far as the product itself is concerned...I'm currently using it and I like how I can just put it on and let it do its thing. A helmet means that your hands are free to do whatever else, though you'll have to use it while sitting down since the helmet is plug in only (which is why that guy dying on a bicycle while wearing this helmet joke comment was just plain stupid and not all that funny). The fit takes a bit of time to get used to. Also, there are these four little knobs that hold the helmet in place and keep it at a proper distance from your scalp, they're somewhat uncomfortable at first but you get used to them. Though I am concerned that these positioning knobs prevent light from reaching the scalp in those areas. I've been using iGrow for 1 month, haven't really noticed much of a difference. I'll keep using for another 5 months. There's a very low probability that I'll remember to repost here in 5 months, so don't expect any additional feedback. Good luck and try this device (or another one like it)...it only hurts the wallet, not you.

  • I paid 700.00 dollar year ago this garbage doesn’t work so please do don’t waste your money on irestore shet

  • They are reselling the product through 3rd party resellers as referbished ...
Nothing wrong with that as long as the vender tells you.

  • I am a female and I had it for six months and stuck to the recommended setting which were for the males. It did not work whatsoever.
    i want my money back.

  • Just saw this on the Canadian Shopping Channel and they claimed a roughly 37% average increased hair growth. The pitchman slipped a quick statement that could easily go unnoticed to the effect that it was a select group of people who were tested. This may work but only in very few cases. One example could be people who are vitamin D deficient which can result in hair loss and could be helped with exposure to the proper ultraviolet B (UVB) light.

  • Readers: I am a bold man, but not shiny bold. The guy selling the product on TV said that this was not a product for shiny heads. It seems I would likely qualify. I tried many treatments before. Most of them were outright scams. You can read all of it on my blog .
Based on the comments on this site, I see mixed results and it seems, women had more luck with it.
My understanding is that it will stimulate the follicles, if they are still there, to rejuvenate and become thicker, which is still a benefit. I seriously doubt that it would add to your hair coverage. Apparently it brings more blood to them. Does that mean the blood capillaries were blocked? By cholesterol?
Why not clean up the cholesterol, then?
Lori, who is the biggest supporter of this product on this site said that she failed to use it for a couple of days and immediately noticed decline in growth. That is a nonsense. Lori, please don't try to help us in this way.
    I'd like to try this product. This is what I'd like to know;
    1. Why isn't Prince Williams using this product? Why is Wayne Rooney of Manchester United going for annual replants instead of watching his football matches at night with this laser helmet on his head?
    2. Is there a voltage adapter with it suitable for using it in 120V, and 220V areas.
    3. Why wasn't this built like a bike helmet, so I can use it on my bike to give me flashing lights when i bike at night or day, so it is not a total waste of money if it doesn't produce hair.
Hope someone will help me out to get more hair.
    Travel Chairman.

  • This product is the real deal, if you are not looking for miracles. I have been using it for over two years with quite good results.

the first thing I noticed is that my white hair (I am now 77 years old), turned darker. Fist just slightly grey then almost black around the edges. My hair grows faster, looks healthier and get comments about my full head of hair all the time. I have a small bald spot on the back of my head that has had only a slight improvement and some new hair, but not radical.

Overall it has stopped my hair loss, improved the healthy look of my hair,

you have to use it regularly if you want best results,

  • I can't seem to draw a conclusion.. buy or not ?? Some say yes others say no! I would love to see before and after pictures of clinical studies.. if anyone can point me in the right direction... I would appreciate it.

  • I started using igrow in Feb 2015. I went to a hair restoration place. I used hair support and eufora thickening system. It took about 5 months to see results. I still getting new hair. I almost have all my hair back. I had a bald spot in the middle and sides of hair.It takes time to see results. It really works. The shampoos I used really speeded up my results. Thanks I grow
