The box simply uses a motor driven rake to scrape clean the area of the litter box where the cats go and pulls the waste into a collection area where it will sit until the area is cleaned. The title of self -cleaning is a bit of a misnomer, the box doesn’t really clean itself, it just pushes the problem off for a little bit which is perfectly fine but it still needs to be cleaned out at proper intervals. It has a carpeted area that the cat uses to enter the box and the area where the actual litter is held is not very big. The LM680C is advertised for use by smaller cats and not really designed for multiple cats. There is a larger version but it seems to be out of stock everywhere meaning it is really popular or not worth the time of the company to make more.
