Xzilon is presented as a way to get your car looking and keeping it that way. It says that it works on a molecular level, and we’ve seen these sorts of claims before for other car products, so does this one deliver?
Xzilon is a molecular adhesion vehicle exterior paint protection product. This product was initially designed to meet the requirements of the aerospace industry. Xzilon consists of carbon polymeric coating, which is permanent once applied.
The company that produces this product is called Xzilon. The company was recently acquired by Kevin Kahmann and is now part of Caring Brands Companies. Xzilon is accredited by the better business bureau and the companies products are compliant in all 50 USA states as well as Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The product is produced in the USA.
The biggest difference is the strength that Xzilon has. Once this permanent paint protector is applied to your vehicle’s exterior paint surface, the product provides resistance against environmental contaminants, abrasives, severe weather conditions, and chemicals.
With so many people today concerned about our environment, it is important to know that Xzilon is environmentally friendly. It is also adult, children and pet-friendly. It is non-flammable and has very little odor.
Xzilon provides an ultra high-gloss finish and is safe for all surfaces. This product provides the best possible protection for exterior paint finishes, with little build-up. Touch-ups are quick and easy.
Paint lost softness years ago when lead was removed from the automobile paint. Today, the paint that is used on automobiles is much thinner than it used to be. It is powder-coated paint. Using this product adds luster, flexibility and softness to the paint. Dent repairs are much easier when this product has been applied. Paint chipped happens less frequently. Using an exterior paint protection provides treated surfaces long term protection. The product has been tested on 400 degrees surface temperature, 1,300 of saltwater spray and wind speeds of over 400 mph.
There are many benefits associated with using Xzilon. Some of the benefits are:
Xzilon paint protection can be used on any type of surface. This includes:
And so much more.
For optimum results, it is recommended to have Xzilon applied on personal and recreation vehicles through your dealership. This will ensure the product is applied properly and evenly. However, you can purchase the product to apply to small engine machines and other items that need paint protection. To apply it yourself, follow the instructions carefully.
Depending on your dealership, the cost to have Xzilon applied to your vehicle will vary. However, on average it is approximately $700. This product can be applied to new and used vehicles. To purchase the product yourself it costs approximately $100 depending on where you buy it.
Typically, when Xzilon is applied professionally on new vehicles, the warranty is good for 5 years. On used vehicles, the warranty is good for 3 years.
Yes. Xzilon also makes interior protection, glass protection, alloy wheel protection and XMicrobe Antimicrobial Protection products.
Alloy Wheel Protection
When you have Xzilon applied to your vehicle you can save money in many ways. As the protective product prevents UV damage, you won’t have to have an additional clear coat applied to your vehicle. You will save money on car washes, as using this product reduces the necessity to
wash your vehicle by over 50%. The product keeps your vehicle looking new, therefore resale value will much higher compared to not using Xzilon. Unlike other paint protection products, this one doesn’t have to be re-applied.There is quite a mix of customer reviews regarding Xzilon on Amazon. The product has received a 2.5 star out of 5-star rating. The product purchased on Amazon is a DIY. Keep in mind if the customers didn’t apply it properly, this could be the reason it may have failed. Some comments from Amazon customers are:
“great product”
“I had paid to put it on one car. When I found it on line I did better job for a lot less money. This product is the greatest thing for any car. It is easier to apply then car wax. It doesn’t tell you but you should apply it 2 times on all surfaces of the exterior including the glass.”
Here is a comment from Jeremy Vizzi, from Executive Detail:
“One of my regular clients bought it off ebay and asked me to apply it to his vehicle. I think it’s been about 3 months now and it still beads like it was treated yesterday. I don’t know much about it, but at least I can watch how it performs closely. Despite some of the negatives I’ve heard about it, it really doesn’t seem to be a bad product. I will also say that the bugs and sap seem to wipe off without ANY problems. I don’t think it’s worth paying the dealership that kind of price, but to buy it MUCH cheaper and apply it yourself, would definitely be better. At first I was a little skeptical, but it does seem to be holding up right now. Again, it’s only been a few months. So we’ll see.”
As with any product, personal evaluation works best. Some people have great experiences with Xzilon and others not so much. Maybe trying it on a small engine machine first to see how it fares may be a good idea, before investing in hundreds of dollars through dealerships.
When looking at one product it is always worth looking at a comparable one and in this case its Prolux.

Here's an insider look at how this product is applied at our dealership. This is exactly the process the xzilon representative trained me and my co-workers for applying this trash to your vehicle paint. First step is to wash the vehicle. The next step is to mix xzilon 50/50 with WATER and put it into a fogger. Apply the xzilon with the fogger and wipe dry. The representative tried to pass this off as a ceramic coating. This is not a ceramic coating, but more of a teflon coating. I have applied true ceramic coatings on numerous vehicles and never have I diluted it with water. And who applies coatings with a fogger?? The proper way to coat a vehicle is wash, decontaminate, cut and buff the paint, IPA wash, and finally, apply the coating using a crosshatch pattern ensuring an even and level coat. This product is snake oil at best. I wouldn't recommend applying this to a bicycle, let alone a vehicle.
My wife and I purchased new cars at the same time and opted to have Xzilon applied. Within three months the paint was damaged on both cars from bugs, not rock chips or anything else. When we eventually got someone to respond to us for the warranty claim, which, by the way, required us filing a complain with BBB, they wanted to send us to have our brand new cars repainted by Maaco. After fighting with them over that, we had concerns about value on a repainted car that was brand new and our dealer suggesting waiting to get he work done since the cars were only 3 months old, the Xzilon rep confirmed the dealership's statement. But their corporate office said that wasn't possible, so we asked if we could get the approved amount as a payment and we'd get the work done when we were ready, if the cost increased, we would absorb that increase. They agreed but 5 months later they are avoiding our calls, not responding to emails, and we've received nothing from them. Their product is trash and the company essentially has stolen our money. Good luck if you give them your money.
This is a waste of money. The salesman at the dealership really sold it up telling me how it would protect against paint chips and tears and stains and rips and anything else that could damage my car like Bird poo. Turns out that it's a complete waste and it does not do anything for paint chips. It will not cover tears in the Center counsel. It will not cover door dings and when they call you and let you know that your claim has been denied the lady tells you that it's all in the contract that you signed which is true in very very small font much smaller than the rest of it and the contract is very lengthy. I'm not sure whether the dealership is to fault here or the company but don't waste your money.
I had this stuff pushed on me when I bought my car at a dealership. Why does my entire car look
like it was put on over a dirty car. Permanent spots all over the car and windows. No amount of washing or waxing will remove it. If the car had permanent spotting before this stuff was put on, why would somebody apply it over the spots? Spoke to the company who told me it was acid rain. Had to be some very selective acid rain and that the only way to get rid of these spots all over the entire car is to have the paint stripped and have the car repainted. If Saturday Night Live needs some new comedians, I have a recommendation.
I have a 2019 jetta "BLACK!" it was about 3 months before the weather was decent enough to get it in to do the Xzilon . It's a beautiful finish I can drive it in the rain park at work and the rain pretty much washes it off. Much easier to keep clean. You can feel the difference when you wipe your hand across it. I love it Napelton Volkswagen did the work.
I had this product applied professionally at a dealership and it absolutely does work!! It has kept my paint so flawless I haven’t needed a buff in 3 years. I highly recommend it for the interior Stains do not settle on your fabric they literally wipe off. This is the premier way of protecting your car.
Just another scam! Bought a brand new car and wanted to protect it so I purchased this coating for 799 from the dealer. I cant get water spots off the car, paint has faded and the inside has leather falling apart and fading. I have never had a car that has done this. I have had other treatments done and you can smell it and see the car shine. I had to question if they even did it! This stuff is a scam. Dont ever buy it from the dealer. They are just looking to make a few hundred bucks!
So i received this for free, on my white CLS 550, should i be worried that it will damage my car?
If you have this product applied do they cover scratches because you put it onyour car or is that some other part of the warenty
After reading numerous reviews, my main concern is water spots. Seems the sooner I get a quality polish applied, I should be able to avoid the problem. Can I apply polish, and if I can, how soon after the Xzilon was applied? It's been 24 hours.I'd like to do it today.
