The Ageless Sleep Pillow was built around the idea that when you’re sleeping with an ordinary pillow you are contributing to the wrinkles on your face. It is designed so that your face is not smushed against the pillow while you are sleeping on your side. So does this really work at propping your face away from the pillow?
Overview
Anti-aging products are really big right now, and their popularity will only continue to grow over the next decade or so. If you’re fighting the battle it might have irked you to find out that your sleeping patterns may have been causing, or worsening your wrinkles. There are a few different ways that you can go about fixing this, including beauty sleep pillows, and changing your sleeping habits.
The Claim
The Ageless Sleep Pillow claims that you won’t get any wrinkles while using it because the contours make it so that your face is not pressing up against the pillow, therefore not making it so your face is getting creased up all night. They also so that because this keeps your head in the correct position, it should reduce the amount of snoring you do, which can also help the quality of sleep did you get, and that will help stop the aging process too. They also say that you can help ease aches and pains because your neck will be in the proper position, so there will be less kinking.
The Hype
It’s unsettling to learn that you might be making a problem worse in your sleep. But this isn’t just a myth being perpetrated by a company to sell a product. Dermatologists have confirmed that having your skin bunched up against a pillow for several hours can in fact lead to wrinkles. Trying to sleep on your back is one way to try and solve the problem, and that might be an option rather than buying a pillow to accommodate the problem. Some people just can’t sleep on their backs though, in which case you’ve got to figure out a different solution.
The Cost
You can get your own Ageless Sleep Pillow for around $20 at various online retailers. Compared to other pillows that are designed to do the same thing, this is almost suspiciously cheap. It’s supposed to be made of memory foam, and a quick cost comparison to other memory foam pillows reveals that this is one of the cheapest ones you can buy. We’re not against getting a good deal, but it’s no fun getting what you pay for when you don’t pay much.
The Commitment
All that would be required on your part would be to switch your old pillow for this new one. However, many users have said that there is a bit of a learning curve if you will, in which you need to adjust to this new pillow. It is unlike ordinary pillows, and since most people have become quite used to the pillows they have, it might take several nights in order to get used to something different. This is especially true if you have a certain way that you like to sleep, and if you are easily disturbed if something is out of place.
Evaluation
The Ageless Sleep Pillow has mixed reviews, with some saying that it is the only pillow they will sleep with, and others saying that it is too stiff and unyielding and doesn’t fit there head. It’s easy to see how your head would have to fit just right, and if you luck out and fit into the contours, and don’t mind a firm pillow, this might be the right pillow. But that’s too many ifs for our liking.
You might be able to get away with a beauty pillow, these are pillows that are made with a special satiny cover so that they don’t cause any trauma to the skin on your face. Conventional pillowcases are made from cotton, or perhaps you have a sheet set with a high thread count. You would want something that allows the skin to slide back and forth on it, rather than rub up against it and cause the folds and creases.
Final Ageless Sleep Pillow Review
The Ageless Sleep Pillow is getting our Thumbs Down rating because it needs to be a one-size-fits all, and it’s not. Because it has contours that need to go in specific place in order for it to work, there will only be a certain percentage of people that this will work for. They need to come up with it in different sizes, and in different firmness levels, so that they it can satisfy a broader range of sleepers out there.
Our Recommendation
When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, your pillow is a crucial piece of the puzzle. You don’t want to get everything else right but get your pillow wrong. If you’re a side sleeper and are worried that this is helping to cause crow’s feet and other wrinkles to form, you should find a pillow designed for side sleepers. We were able to locate this one for you: It’s the SleepRight Side Sleeping pillow, and it has better reviews than the Ageless Sleep, and comes in different sizes. Be sure to use their website to figure out your size before buying.
Yes, I agree. I have tried quite a few pillows for the sake of being a bad sleeper as far as being restless is concerned. I never thought of using a pillow to prevent wrinkles which personally I think is a crock. You get wrinkles from age and dehydration but not sleeping as far as I know. And yes it seems your head has to be a certain shape and a certain size just to fit in it properly but again as you said, you have to be in one place all night to reap any benefit at all from the pillow. For me a thumbs down because the way I sleep some nights, that pillow would be on the floor.
The idea is good but in practice it just couldn’t work. Think about it, it’s not just that the contours of people’s faces are different, but what about the sleeping habits? We move around a whole lot while we’re sleeping, how in the heck is it going to compensate for all the different angles that face would be pressed on? It can’t, not unless you had your face tied to it LMAO~!!
