If you’re considering a Tempur-Pedic Pillow to help with your snoring, you are probably figuring that the contoured design will help you keep your airway open while you sleep. It’s been shown that sleeping on your side is better for you as far as snoring goes, and these pillows might make it comfortable enough for you to adjust to, since they cradle your head, but still provide the support you need. But how well do they really work?
Overview
Tempur-Pedic made a name for itself as one of the leading manufacturers of memory foam mattresses. Of course it then branched out its product offering, and the next logical step was pillows. A memory foam pillow is supposed to contour to the shape of your head, not trap heat the way a conventional pillow does, and give support to your neck. They make pillows that are for people that sleep on their back, as well as side sleepers.
The Claim
Tempur-Pedic Pillow claims that it uses the same sort of memory foam technology in their pillows that goes into their premium mattresses. It’s easy to see how they could simply use the same material, just in a smaller size. They also claim that some of the unique designs that go into the pillows, like that on the NeckPillow are specifically designed to put the body in the proper alignment and keep it there for the duration of the night, resulting in less tossing and turning, more restful sleep, and less aches the next day.
The Hype
Sleep is so important and people take it very seriously. Memory foam just seems to make sense because it provides support, but is also soft. When you first saw it in action you probably instinctively said, wow, that probably works great. This is the sort of hype that comes with memory foam. Plus lots of people say they love their memory foam mattresses and pillows, so that adds to it as well.
The Cost
Tempur-Pedic Pillow is not the most cost-effective pillow you’ll find, but many people that bought it have said that you get what you pay for, and that the price is justified. In fact, many of the complaints about the pillow are probably people that can’t get over the fact that they paid over $100 for a pillow.
There are three pillows that we looked at the Symphony is $126, the Neck is $142, and the Comfort is $122. It appears that the best pillow dollar for dollar is the Symphony.
If you’re comparing these to other anti-snoring pillows or devices, they’re not going to win on price, so if you’re looking for a more cost-conscious way to stop your snoring, go with an anti-snore mouthpiece or a different snoring pillow.
The Commitment
All that you really need to do is replace your current pillow with your new Tempur-Pedic one. It might take you a little getting used to at first, but most people say that they get a good night’s sleep from it the first night.
Evaluation
No matter which Tempur-Pedic pillow you go with, you’re getting something that has favorable reviews. Most people say that their sleep improved right away, and that the pillows provide the right mix of comfort and support, without making your head hot during the night.
Buyer’s Remorse
There are people that say they don’t like them, but the naysayers are in the minority. Common complaints are about the cost, which if that is still your complaint after buying the pillow you are experiencing buyer’s remorse and not looking at the pillow in a rational light. You are holding it under the microscope and trying to justify the expenditure. The reason is that these people are trying to answer the question: “Am I the kind of person that spends this much money on a pillow?” They then have to have this be the greatest pillow in all the world, or they will start picking it apart to convince themselves they made the wrong choice.
So yes, it absolutely works, because there are far too many people singing its praises and that have been using it for many years and come back and buy a new one when the one they have wears out. Yes, these are not meant to last forever, even at this price point. There is no way to design a pillow that will get perfect reviews, as there are too many sleeping styles and preferences to appease everyone.
Final Tempur-Pedic Pillow Review
Tempur-Pedic pillows are very comfortable, and can improve your sleep. In the case of snoring your mileage may vary, but if you can start to sleep on your side with the support that these pillows provide, you should notice a decline in your snoring. It may take some getting used to, especially if you’ve slept on your back your entire life, but it is worth the switch.
Our Recommendation
Out of all the models we looked at the Symphony seems to be the best buy for the money. It’s more versatile than their Neck pillow, and it has better reviews than the Comfort model. Since you can’t return the pillows you’ll want to make sure that you size them up carefully and make the right choice. At this price point you don’t want to be left with a pillow that you don’t use and can’t return.
All I need from my husband is for him to decrease his snoring. I’ve gotten used to the noise over the years, but sometimes it’s just too loud and it’s unbearable. He’s open to using different products so at least he knows he should feel sorry. We tried couple of different pillows with one not working at all and one working okay. Hopefully this one will work even better.
