The Ab Carver takes an ab exercise that is widely regarded as effective and puts a product behind it. It is supposed to give you a lean and toned midsection. But how well does it really work? Is it more effective than doing these without a device?
Getting In Shape
When summer is getting close you want to look your best. especially on the beach, you may be looking for ways to get your body back in shape. Over the winter it is easy to put on a few pounds, especially around the waist. but there is hope if you want to get that lean and trim look. The Ab Carver Pro is a new and innovative product that is designed to help you achieve your workout goals.
What is the Ab Carver Pro?
The Ab Carver Pro uses a tried and tested way to help you achieve the look you are after.
- It uses your own body to help you achieve a tight stomach.
- The device resembles a rolling pin that is used to flatten out the dough to make bread and other foods.
- It is a type of rolling device that has handles on both sides that you hold on to when you lean forward.
- With your knees on the floor you roll the device in front of you and then pull it back slowly. It is this forward push combined when you pull back that you start to hit the abdominal muscles.
How Does It Work?
When you are trying to target certain muscles you need to understand how they work. The people who invented this new product have been in the business for years. They have brought you many different workbook aids that help with traditional workouts. This particular product uses kinetic energy to help flatten your stomach and give you the six-pack you are looking for.
Inside of the Ab Carver Pro is a kinetic assist engine that has coils inside. So when you lean forward they tighten up and then release when you are moving back into your original position. It is this stretching movement that will help to define and strengthen the muscles in your stomach.
Why Use This Product?
This product was developed by a former Navy Seal. He also invented the Perfect Push Up. t=The designers of the Ab Carver Pro state their product will definitely help you in your quest to build a better body. You can have that lean and trim look around the waistline. It is the spring-loaded resistance and the added support of this product that makes this workout much better than trying it unassisted. You will feel the resistance when you push outward, which works the muscles. Then when you retract, it adds assistance so there is no chance of hurting your back.
How to Use The Ab Carver Pro?
- You first want to sit down in a kneeling position
- Make sure your knees are opened up a little bit and your toes are comfortable rested on the floor.
- You then want to place your hands on the handles, which are ergonomic. They will fit your thumbs comfortably
- With the Ab Carver in front of you, you want to slowly roll forward. Making sure that your posture is tight and there is no sagging. This is to prevent any back injuries.
- You then want to slowly pull the device back into its original position, feeling the burn in your stomach muscles.
Does The Ab Carver Pro Work?
This product uses an excellent exercise that bodybuilders have been using for years. In the past using what’s called an ab wheel, people who wanted to get in shape would use this exercise to target certain stomach muscles. This product is similar to a lot more to it. If you use this product properly and combine it with a good diet you will start to see results in no time at all. Make sure you follow a good workout program. Stick with it, and soon you will have the sculpted abs you are looking for.
What is the Best Workout?
First and foremost, you want to be prepared. Make sure that you warm up before doing any type of strenuous workout. This is very important. Without a warm-up and doing the proper stretching exercises, your blood pressure could rise. This can cause you some trouble if not careful. Stretching is important because your muscles should be limber. Before you start stretching them out to avoid any injuries. When you are stretching try and hold your position for around 15 to 20 seconds.
In the past with an ab wheel, you had to worry about it sliding out from under you. With this product, it works as well on carpet as it does on an uncarpeted floor. With comfortable handles, you can really control how you use it.
Beginners Workout
When you are first starting out, just like any other exercise, you want to start slowly and then work you way up to the harder exercises. You want to take a position around 12 to 15 inches from the wall, kneeling down and keeping your thighs around 65-70 degrees against the floor.
- Leaning forward and slowly rolling the Ab Carver Pro in front of you until you touch the wall, you then again slowly pull it back to its original position. Do this exercise as many times as you feel you can without causing any excess pain, aside from the normal burn.
Advanced Workout
- Once you feel that you have strengthened your stomach muscles, you may be ready to go to the next level where you no longer need the wall as a safety measure. Now when you roll the Ab Carver forward you can stretch it out as far as you are comfortable with before you pull it back slowly. You will find that after a while you can stretch out farther each time and by then you should really see some improvements in how your stomach muscles look.
Is The Ab Carver Pro Worth Buying?
With a price tag around the $20 dollar mark it is a good addition to your home gym, or even just by itself. It really does target the stomach muscles effectively, keeping in mind that your diet is just as important if you want the 6 pack, or just a leaner waistline. The company that produces this product has a reputation for coming up with new ways to improve older and excellent exercises such as the Perfect Pull-Ups, the Perfect Sit-Ups, and the Perfect Push-Ups. All in all its seems like a good buy.
What Do Users Say?

Options
It is always good to have options and if you want to compare this product against another one that is designed for building the abs then take a look at the Jack Hammer Abs.
I am 84 years old. I have had a little wheel with handles for years and have worked out in a gym since 1961. About a couple of months ago via Silvers Slippers, I joined a new gym with Pro AB Carver. The Pro AB is an excellent enhancement for my exercise program. The gym managers tell me there are
folks half my age that cannot do the exercises I do on the Carver. I will continue to increase my time on
the Carver. I highly recommend it.
I bought the AB Carver Pro at Wal-Mart for $21 the other day and felt the burn the first time using it. I use it in the gym between machine and free weight work and it works well to keep my core engaged instead of waiting until the end of the workout (yes, I could do crunches between sets but this makes AB work more interesting than what I have been doing.) Like any other workout gear, you need to use it correctly, regularly, and have a sensible diet if you want to see the difference you are making. Otherwise you will feel tight but won’t show it…
Picked this up at Costco for $20.
Took me a month or so before I could use it regularly. It tore my abs to shreds initially. It absolutely will yield results if you stick with it. I’ve lost 30 pounds in four months. It’s mostly due to better eating, but the Ab Carver gives me something to do at home. In the morning. At night. It’s good for you.
Male. 43. Herniated disc @ L5/S1. Never had a problem.

I just started using the ab carver and,the first day I felt it working in my arms chest and stomach.I rested one day and still feel the work out so my question is should I continue when I no,longer feel pain?should you work out everyday?
Haha, you are a doofus!
I have herniation on my L4 and L5. Just walking will often give me a back pain. It wasn’t as bad until one day, I did a simple sit up. So, I do not want to do sit ups.
That said, if this device can help me with my core, I will buy it. The question is… does it really help cut the fat? Obviously, you will need to do cardio to lose weight, but what I have heard is that sit ups and gadgets like these do NOT help reduce the fat. Granted, it builds muscles to burn the fat, but what one really needs to do is slow burning cardio, like power walks? Please help and clear the myths. Thank you in advance.
I work roadshows and do not have any time to get to a gym, so I started using the ab carver morning and night in my hotel room. I do 120 reps a day and have aleady lost 3 inches around my waist and am carving and toning my mid section after only 14 days. I am not even dieting but still seeing real results. Not only that but my back, arms and neck have gotten so strong that I can roll out further without worrying I’ll wrench myself. I couldn’t be happier. Get it and use it!

I am a woman, middle fifties, and I purchased the ab carver pro around 2 months ago. After using it twice per day, morning and early evening, I am noticing a more sculpted ab area. One reason I strive for a strong core is to avoid back issues. Also I want to retain my height and stature. Having said all that, it is my belief good posture and avoiding back trouble maintains a positive outlook and youthfulness.
I highly recommend this product.
This is a great product. Using this daily and eating better has helped me look and feel better. This is 40 bucks well spent.
I have been using the Ab Carver Pro for three months and could not be happier with the results. I work out four to five days a week and wanted a solid core exercise that would not become boring after a few weeks and this little gizmo fits the bill. I made some tweaks to my meals to take advantage of the core workout and continued aerobic training and weight training. In eight weeks I went from 26% body fat to 20% with a goal of 19%. I am 67 years old and feel as fit as ever, I will continue using the Ab Carver in my exercise routines.
Wow! Ms. Marcie. You have inspired me to get back into the gym.
i just purchased the ab carver pro and i do not have much body fat in my ab region so if i just continue to work out with the product will i start to see abs
Thank you Marcie. I am 63 and was wondering if safe to use. I have lost 10 lbs and am working on the next 10 before I am satisfied. I have a stair climber I use and do some upper body exercises but now need to up the game a little more to tone and to keep from getting bored. This looks fun.
Marcie, YOU ROCK! I hope when I’m 71 I have your positive attitude, and a 6 pack!
I am a 71-year-old female with arthritis, scoliosis and a bulging disk who spent much of my day on a heating pad. After deciding I’d had enough, I started strength training at a gym specializing in the over-50 demographic; it wasn’t enough, so I bought the ab-carver pro. The wheel is wide enough to safely support me, and I appreciate the help the spring provides. I don’t like wearing my glasses when I’m exercising, so I used a black marker to more clearly label the left side of the wheel to prevent an accident.
After a couple of months of 3 sets, 3 x week, I have the beginnings of a 6 pack !
I ever tried a similar product like this. But do beware of the spring loading direction. If not it will become a bodily hazard. I did this many years back not knowing the proper use of it. And in the I got the spring direction reversed not knowing …the next thing…I had the equipment ZOOM back at me and as a result my face landed on the hard floor and suffered a broken tooth.
Been using this at the gym. Very effective and hits the muscles every time I use it where the ab/crunch machines needs a bit of resistance to get any results, This tends to leave my back mostly lower aching for a day or two.
Ab Carver Pro does it job when used correctly ….
5 sets 30-50 reps/2-5 mins is perfect for me.
You will fill it from day 1 too day 100.
Guaranteed.
I jus bought the above carver. I am a body builder. In order to lift heavier weight one must have a strong core. Therefore, I recommend this product. It further appearing, my first use I could see the above carver engage the same muscles similar to six inches and dragonflies. However, it works it at a comfortable position for reputetion.
I reverse the hand grips and start fully extended out and pull in so the resistance is not assistance. Nothing says to do this, in fact it is not the suggested proper use, but I like it.
That’s what I was thinking. You can buy all of the get fit gadgets you want, but unless you have the will power to use them all the time, then you won’t get any sort of results. That being said, if you do have the motivation, sometimes something that makes it a little easier and more fun to get good results is just what you need.
I would like to try this product, because my abs are my problem area, and it would be nice to have an easy to use and fun device that makes ab work outs more effective. I do sit ups and different types of things at the gym, but I would like to try this one too. It looks nicer than other types of this gadget that I’ve seen.
I agree. There’s usually a better product out there for much cheaper. But like you said, if don’t bother to change your eating habits all it will do is make you gut protrude more. You will be strong nonetheless but if you want results you need to adjust your eating habits as well. You’re only going to achieve your loss if you do a combination of the two anyway. Exercising just isn’t enough to do the job unfortunately. You need to have both in order be successful with your weight loss goals.
You can get a similar device for much cheaper than $40, although it probably won’t come with knee pads! This beings said, as far as the technology goes, this is a great tool for developing a strong core, which is essential for a good mid-section. But as I have said time and again in reviews of similar items, the key to good abs is diet. You can do all the crunches you want or spend hours a day using the ab-carver, but if you don’t carefully control your diet YOU WILL NOT SEE THE EFFECT! Yes your core will be strong, which is great, but you won’t se your abs until your fat levels are WAY down, and using this device does not reduce fat levels.
I bought the Ab Carver a week ago and much to my surprise I started feeling it working on my abs; shoulders and arms the very first day! Its amazing and I recommend it to anyone who is physically capable of using it.
To be honest, all you need is your will to get fit and you don’t really need any other gizmos to build a body you can be proud of. But you know, I do believe that some fitness toys can help you get motivated or make things more interesting. At times they may even help you get fit faster. I like the concept of ab carver and all, but I don’t know that I’ll be spending money to get it. I do need to lose some weight and tone up though.
