The Coobie Bra is purported to be one of the most comfortable bras you’ll ever wear, and they have some pretty detailed reasons as to why. But can a simple bra like this really fix some of the most common problems with conventional bras, or is this just another flop in the bra department?
Overview
The bra has remained relatively untouched since the Victorian era and it’s high time somebody made some adjustments to it, right? Well, it seems that the most recent trend is treating the bra as one-size-fits most kind of deal, losing the conventional sizing charts and making it so that the bra can customize itself to you rather than the other way around.
The Claim
The makers of the Coobie Bra claim that it’s the most comfortable bra ever, and they cite the reason as the type of materials being used, but also the way it’s constructed. They draw a distinction between themselves and what they consider knock-offs, likely all of the brands you see advertised on TV has the next big thing in bras. But overall they stress the comfort as the biggest selling feature here.
There are a few reasons as to why these would be considered more comfortable than your average bra. They’re wireless, so you won’t have a wire cutting into your sides. They’re also able to expand and contract due to the Spandex they contain. This means that as your body gets bigger and smaller at different times of the month you won’t feel it so much in the bra area. They’ve also made it so there is no clasp on the back, so you don’t have that digging into your back.
The Hype
There isn’t too much in the way of hype, although they do rely on what customers are saying about their product as a way to encourage positive word-of-mouth. From what we could determine these are not only getting bought, but getting talked about among women to the point of creating something of a buzz about them.
The Cost
You can buy the Coobie Bra for as low as $18 and of course the price varies depending on the type of bra you’re ordering. This is pretty reasonable, considering that a trip to Victoria’s Secret will cost you more than that, and you’ll be getting a bra that likely won’t be as comfortable. When you put these up against other bras that are similar, you see that they’re about the same price, maybe a little more, but they aren’t using any sort of pricing gimmick where the price is lower than the shipping charges.
They seem to earnestly want you to be happy and offer the ability to return this for a different size if it doesn’t quite fit right, and they don’t charge you additional shipping when they ship out your replacement bra.
The Commitment
This should represent a lessening of your commitment level when it comes to wearing your bra all day. You won’t have to constantly be re-adjusting your bra throughout the day, and you won’t have those telltale marks you get after removing your bra at the end of the day.
Evaluation
The feedback is in on the Coobie Bra, and the trend is very positive. The consensus is that it’s a very comfortable bra, that it fits true to size, and that it can be used both for lazy days around the home, or as a regular bra out in the world. Of course there are a few naysayers that said it wasn’t quite what they were expecting, but upon closer inspection these seem to be oddball cases where no bra is really going to be a good fit. Once you disregard the feedback that doesn’t really apply to the majority of people, it becomes clear that in most circumstances this is a winner.
The padding on these bras seems to be a feature that gets talked about a lot. Not only does it help the bra feel better, but it also improves the appearance. The seamless nature of the bra means that you can wear it underclothes for a great look, and you don’t have the easy to spot signs that you typically get when you wear a bra with seams aplenty.
Final Coobie Bra Review
Overall, the Coobie Bra is getting our Thumbs Up rating. They’re doing good and seemingly getting better, releasing new bras with added features and additional colors and styles. It’s always good to see a company expanding their operations, adding to their product like while making improvements based on consumer feedback. The company behind the bras appears to be trying to stick around for the long term by producing quality products, with an eye on the manufacturing process. Hopefully they will keep up the good work and will be the go-to bra supplier for their happy customers.
Our Recommendation
There is no shortage of choices when it comes to getting a bra that is supposed to be very comfortable. But with the Coobie brand you’re getting a quality product that has stood the test of time and managed to generate a large amount of positive feedback across several third party sites. You could go with something like the Genie Bra, which also has relatively good feedback, and is priced similarly. It’s really up to you, but at these prices you can’t really go wrong in trying them both out and seeing which one you prefer.
I bought 3 Coobie Bras from steals and deals on the today show. I was so looking forward to finally having s comfortable bra that the band would not roll. I have tried many others and even the most expensive ones roll .
I am sorry to say that the Coobie Bra is no different. The band rolls up and I constantly have to roll it back down. Guess I am still on the hunt for a comfortable bra. I am 34C . Sorry Coobie, this bra is no different.
I’ll never believe the hype I read about a product online again. I was so excited to get my bras today, but when I put it on it was really tight I ended up at under arm fat will try never having a regular bra, and it was very itchy material is not soft like I expected it to be. I wouldn’t recommend these at all . And don’t believe in one size fits all that’s not true and I am not a very large person. I wear a size small or medium shirt . And I found the bra to be too tight.
I have several different styles of the lace bralettes. I bought them with the hopes that they would fit my small frame (28E/30D). Unfortunately, even thought the size small is advertised to fit from a 28A-32D I cannot say this worked for me. The elastic band at the bottom is DEFINITELY not snug enough to properly anchor the bra around my rib cage–it is simply too loose. Some of them also were a bit too small for my breasts. Coobie sent me a free “one-size” bra with my order, but that is even looser than the lace bralettes.
I had very high hopes, but unfortunately options for women like myself who are a 28 or 30 band are extremely limited.
I have worn Jockey bras for years, size 8-34. They fit perfectly but aren’t very attractive. I tried Coobie and initially really liked the full sized – bought 2. They do sit nicely around my chest, don’t ride up, but the cups are just too, too small. I have too much breast falling over the top of the bra and the profile is unattractive, no definition and very giggly. The little triangle pads are too small and show through the trim material, and through a tee-shirt. I might like them better if the pads were larger – covering the entire cup.
I thought I would wear these on weekends only, not appropriate for my office, but after three weekends, I wish I could return them. Rather spend $60 at Jockey and look good than $20 with Coobie.
I have been considering these bras as well but have never seen any comments regarding the fit in the back. Does it help slim any rolls which I would expect to only apply on the full coverage styles? Thanks!
I just received my bras. They are by far the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. You have a steady customer.
I bought four Coobie bras – the comfort bra, the normal bra, and the sports bra. I am a 34B, which is a medium size. All of the bras were tight and the cups were lumpy and would look terrible under a tee-shirt. Even worse was the customer service. You have to pay for shipping and then the company doesn’t give you the option to print a return shipping label. So not only do you have to create a label yourself, you have to take it to UPS or the US post office and pay in person for return shipping. What a pain! So it cost me $4.11 to ship the product back and $8.15 for shipping to me – over $12 to try this product. So buyer beware!
Bra Double D
I need wide band over shoulder
I love them
Kaila, I know these comments are older than Methuselah, so you probably won’t even see it, BUT, because I have been wearing Coobies ever since my Breast Cancer & reconstruction sugeries in 2012-2013 I understand your dilemma. Prior to my BC I was barely a 32-B. So (obviously) when I was fortunate enough to be a candidate for the new NSS procedure (Nipple Skin Saving-meaning only a scar underneath your breasts, which will be hidden by your new breasts, and you just have all the breast tissue inside removed, but keep your outer skin, including nipples) I opted for a bilateral mastectomy w/NSS reconstruction. I had to wear a very tight, binding surgery bra for quite a while 24/7 due to not only the extreme surgery but to prepare my body for the reconstruction, I.e., larger breasts. Without going through all the gory, tedious details, at one point I asked my NP at the Cosmetic Surgeon’s office about alternate bras. I mean 24/7 is tough when you’ve slept in the nude for 50 years. She told me to go look up Coobie bras online. I did & loved the first one so I bought more in various colors. Mine came with small inserts that give you a bit of perky-shape, but nothing like padding. And the inserts come out w/regular washing. Sometimes I put them back in, but I also have a ziplock bag with these little inserts for all of my various coobies. I think I have about seven pairs in all diff colors now & I love them! So, no, they don’t squish you like sports bras b/c they tighten & extend in all the right places, but those inserts really do help with the overall appearance in certain sweaters that matter. Hoe this helps!
I just have to say that I have finally found the one! I got 2 different styles and I love, love love the way it feels! The support is just right and it moves with me. I clean houses and need something not only comfortable, but breathable and something that isn’t going to require constant adjustment. I showed them to my neighbor who is going through cancer treatment and she was excited about trying your bra’s as well. Thank You!!
I too have the same problem with bras. I can’t stand an underwire bra. The underwire always pokes you and is so uncomfortable, then you have the bras that the strap falls down all day while you are working and you are always trying to fix it. No matter what I spend on a bra I can never seem to get a good one. I will try it for $18. I have tried every other one. Thanks for your review. I will post one after I get mine and let you know how mine feels and works through my day.
This seems like a really comfortable bra, definitely. Like Allison said, bras have a lot of uncomfortable features that women usually just put up with because we’re used to it from such a young age. A good comfortable bra can make a big difference at your comfort throughout the day.
My only question with this bra, for me, is whether it makes your chest look as nice as a less comfortable but more conventional bra. I guess they do say it’s for leisure, so I suppose it’s more for feeling comfortable than looking great, anyway. But it seems like you could just get a comfortable sports bra, and it would be the same as this. The price isn’t higher than a regular sports bra, though, so maybe it is worth it for days you want to just feel comfortable.
Hey, Allison – I’m glad to see your review. I’ve been wondering if this new bra I’ve recently started hearing about is just a flash in the pan or the real thing. The question I’ve wanted to ask a real user is whether you feel there is enough support to run in them. I don’t mean like in a full marathon or anything – just like a jog on the trail? I guess with a price of $18 all would not be lost if I tried it and it turned out to be like others that I’ve paid much more for! Thanks for your help.
As a woman I have been dealing with the unpleasantries of a bra since my teen years. Wires, awkward seams, and everything else you can imagine both irritates and frustrates you all day long. The Coobie Bra is seriously one of the most comfortable and supportive bras I have ever tried. It feels comparable to a sports bra in the sense that there are no seams and the fabric is stretchy and comfortable. At $18 a bra the price is very affordable. I can’t think of another bra of the equivalent or lower price that is just as supportive or comfortable.
