There are so many versions of home teeth care now that many people are confused as to what is good and not good to do. There is also a lot of confusion as to what products and dental devices to use.
Overview
The Power Floss is a unit that allows you to floss your teeth quickly and easily everyday. It doesn’t run on power or batteries. It works off the water pressure system contained in the unit.
The Claim
The company claims that the air infusion system built into the Power Floss unit is what allows this product to work so well. They are saying that the ergonomic design allows for easy cleaning of the back teeth. They are also saying it is the ideal solution for cleaning teeth that have braces on them, and an extra use they say is to use it with mouthwash.
The Hype
The traditional and standard methods of flossing can be time consuming and cumbersome. Then to buy electronic units for flossing can be expensive. They hype here all focuses around it being a time saver and a less expensive way of flossing.
The Cost
The deal is you will pay $14.99 for the first unit, plus $6.99 shipping and handling. Then if you want a second unit you need to add an extra $4.99 for the shipping and handling.
The Commitment
If you don’t floss now then you may be encouraged to do so with the Power Floss unit. It might be the perfect solution for getting the kids to floss where their efforts may be more effective.
Evaluation
When you look at the pricing of $14.99 for the unit itself, this doesn’t seem bad, but then when you add the shipping costs on you are looking at $21.98. That raises the question is the Power Floss really worth that kind of expenditure. We were able to find it on Amazon where it is selling for $29.10
Final Power Floss Review
We’re going to keep our rating for the Power Floss product to a Try/Buy rating. It doesn’t have a lot of reviews as yet at Amazon, but the ones that are there which are about fourteen are producing mixed results. It seems that the biggest complaints are the time it takes to get the unit setup and primed for water force. While others are saying that it is cheaply made. Some that were impressed with it felt it was a good travel item.
Our Recommendation
At home dental care is a serious matter and not something that you want to cut costs on. Flossing is important although there are a lot of people that don’t do this. If you are considering looking for a new flossing method we wanted to bring you an alternative to the Power Floss that was somewhat similar. The best one we could find was the Panasonic EW-DJ10-A Portable Dental Water Flosser, but it does require battery operation. You are probably not going to get away from having to depend on battery or electrical power if you want the pressure that is needed with this type of flossing. This particular unit sells for $33.84. We haven’t looked at flossers in the past but we have taken a look at various types of specialty toothbrushes.
A bit useless for teeth. For teeth you better use an electric toothbrush, and between the teeth longhandled interdental brushes.
But this floss is great for gum pockets. You can really rinse out these pockets with warm water and remove food and even blood or pus. Don’t ever use wooden toothpicks again to have them broken off. And remove the bacteria and meat from your gum when you have a fish bone stuck in there, before you get an abscess.
