Does SleepMD Really Work?

Does it realy work?

Does SleepMD work?SleepMD says that it’s a “restful way to a great day” which would definitely appeal to millions of American that occasionally find it hard to fall asleep. There’s been plenty of studies showing how important sleep is, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that you don’t function at your best if you don’t get enough sleep. But how well does this really work according to users?

Overview
When it comes to taking medication to sleep you have to be careful. Even though most products will proclaim to be non-habit forming there’s still a strong chance that you could become dependent on them, perhaps not physically but psychologically. When it comes to prescription sleep aids they can be abused and can lead to dangerous drug interactions, which is why many turn to non-prescription alternatives and all-natural remedies to try to get the sleep they so desperately need.

The Claim
SleepMD says it’s the number one sleep aid in America, and they say that it contains 5mg of melatonin which is more than twice as much as the leading competitor. They say you’ll be able to fall asleep more quickly, get better sleep once you get to sleep, and wake up feeling refreshed the next morning.

The Draw
Many of us have trouble sleeping and can end up tossing and turning, especially if there’s a big event the next day, or if the day was extremely stressful or eventful. There’s also a great interest in using products that are sourced from natural ingredients, and since this relies on melatonin, herbs, and nutrients that are meant to help put you in a relaxed state and get you in sync with your normal sleep patterns.

The Cost
You can get a 30 night supply of SleepMD for less than $20, which puts this at less than a dollar per use. Comparing that to other brands the price is competitive, perhaps slightly higher. Most people are willing to pay a big extra if they can be insured of the results they’re going to get.

The Symptoms and Causes
A restless mind is the number one cause of not being able to fall asleep, but it can also be a matter of your sleeping environment and your own personal preferences. You might have a snoring problem, or perhaps you like to read or do work in bed which have been cited as things that might make it harder to fall asleep. Some tips for falling asleep faster and staying asleep is to designate your bed a sleeping-only spot, keeping it cool and dark, and trying not to overstimulate yourself with TV, movies, or work-related reading before it’s time for sleep.

What Users Are Saying
The reviews are split, and that’s to be expected for an over the counter sleep aid. Some say that it works great for them, and that it doesn’t make them feel groggy the next day, while other say that while it put them to sleep it couldn’t keep them asleep. To be effective a sleep aid really has to do both, because your body needs sufficient amounts of REM sleep in order to wake up feeling rested and refreshed.

You might also have seen ads for ZzzQuil by the makers of NyQuil. A lot of companies are gunning for the sleep medicine dollars because it’s a common problem for many Americans, but typically doesn’t happen often enough to merit a prescription. The biggest reason why you’d want to try SleepMD over other brands is that they’re trying to make it work as naturally as possible. The only problem is that natural ingredients might be better for the body, but sometimes lag behind in effectiveness as a trade off.

Final SleepMD Review

When it comes to a sleeping aid, you want it to be reliable. If you don’t want to get a prescription from your doctor, for example if you don’t feel that your condition is serious enough, or you just need something for special occasions when you know you’ll have trouble falling asleep, you’d want something more reliable than SleepMD. If you want to stick to an over the counter medication you might have better luck with Unisom, as it gets better reviews and is very comparable in its claims.

Our Recommendation
If you’ve got a chronic case of sleeplessness, you’ll want to talk it over with your doctor, especially if you’ve tried other remedies or OTC meds with no luck. Sleep is so vital to the way your body functions and how good you feel overall that it’s worth your time and attention to the matter. If you’ve already tried others you can try this one as well, but our findings show that it’s not guaranteed to work, so you might want to find something that you can count on when it really counts.

So for over the counter solution is either sleepmd or unisom. I never needed sleeping pills before so I haven’t tried either, but I know unisom’s been around a long time. However, sleepmd has got some great reviews too. Damn, which one do I go with?

I think it’s a personal choice really. A lot of people will choose unisom over sleepmd because the name unisom is very familiar to them, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the better option for you. For me, I find unisom to be effective but I prefer sleepmd. Again, it’s a personal choice.

I have a problem going to sleep, then staying asleep each night. I use SleepMD every time I can’t sleep. I have tried others such as Tylenol PM and Unisom, but when I get up the next morning I have absolutely no energy. I can’t get motivated and it feels like I could go back to bed for another 8 hours. I like SleepMD as you don’t have that groggy feeling when you wake up and I sleep throughout the whole night. If you have a problem sleeping, then try SleepMD.
