The Silk’n FaceFX looks pretty futuristic, and the more you delve into how it works, the more advanced it seems to be. It allegedly uses phototherapy and a series of light emitting diodes to stimulate the production of collagen in your face, making the skin more elastic and youthful. But can a device like this really provide anti-aging benefits, or is it all just a dog and pony show?
Overview
The face is the one body part that shows the most signs of aging. It makes sense because we use it more than anything else on our bodies. We’re always making facial expressions, talking, laughing, smiling, frowning, and much more, so it’s no wonder that it wears out. It’s gotten so much use. The kicker is that it’s also the most noticeable part of the body, and where people’s eyes go most of the time. So it’s something you’ll want to spend extra time keeping up with, and making it look its best.
The Claim
FaceFX claims that it can help you lessen the appearance of wrinkles on your face, while improving the texture of your skin. It can also brighten up any dullness you may have in the color of your skin, and reduce the size of your pores.
They say you can treat some of the most commonly frustrating areas when it comes to showing the signs of aging, like the neck, the cheeks, the forehead, under the eyes, around the mouth, and on the side of the eyes where crow’s feet form. They say the results are long-lasting, and that it’s proven to work.
The Hype
These days, anti-aging products are all the rage. You can expect them to get more and more popular as the American population, specifically the baby boomers, continues aging. Nobody wants to get old, and even more, nobody wants to look old. We live in a very image conscious society, and it doesn’t look to kindly on wrinkly faces, unless they’re on an octogenarian. There are pills and lotions and creams and gadgets out there, all designed to fool Father Time into turning things back a little.
The Cost
Silk’n FaceFX is $300. This may seem like a big upfront cost, but once you have it you can use it whenever you want, and you won’t be at the mercy of going to a salon, or buying a suite of beauty products to go along with it. They say you can enhance your experience by using other Silk’n products with it, but this should produce enough results on its own to save you from having to buy a lot of anti-aging treatments.
The Commitment
You will want to use this every day so that you can start to accumulate the results. If you just use it once or twice, or use it sporadically, you aren’t going to be happy with what you see. This is something that will pay dividends the more consistently you use it. You should also consider eating right, because the foods you eat still have an effect on your skin, and how good you feel. If you are feeling good you will radiate youthfulness, and that can often be all that you need to look good.
Evaluation
At this price point you’re not going to see too many people reporting back on the FaceFX system. The reason is if it doesn’t work for you, you don’t want to announce to the world that you paid this much for something that didn’t work. If it does work for you, you’re not going to want to tell everyone what your secret is. The before and after pictures posted on their official site look promising, but in the age of Photoshop there’s no guarantee that they’re genuine.
This is one of those products that you’re either going to have to buy into, or pass on. If you look at their How It Works page, and it makes sense to you, and you can subscribe to what they’re saying, then pull the trigger and get this. If it sounds like it’s not feasible that they could get a device to do what they claim it can do, then pass on it. In the end, you’re going to need to have your belief level pretty high so that you give it a fair trial and stick to it long enough to see results.
Final FaceFX Review
The Silk’n FaceFX is definitely an interesting product, and should work, but at the present moment it is still inconclusive. There aren’t enough actual reviews from real users to make a determination as to its effectiveness. The company itself is solid, and we were able to give a Thumbs Up to the SensEpil hair remover, so that tips it a little in their favor, and chances are it does what it says. We’re giving it a tentative Try rating, but you should consider other anti-aging treatments first.
Our Recommendation
This is something that you might want to consider if you have deep lines and wrinkles, or better yet, if you foresee the wrinkles you have getting deeper. It’s not going to bring you back to your glory days of your 20s, but it seems to turn back the clock about a decade or so with repeated and long term use. And really, you wouldn’t want a drastic turnaround, because people would assume you got a procedure done. With gradual improvement that doesn’t go too far, you can always credit it to healthy living and eating your vegetables and keep it your secret.
I am here to read and decide if I should buy it… as in most cases, I found NO proof….
thank you
There are two versions of silk n face laser home device one runs about $149 the other $269. It is really best for people ages 30-45 maybe 50 and it is not going to be a drastic change. Over time there will be a decrease in tone, a more even pigmentation, pores and fine lines and wrinkles but it is a time consuming commitment. Every skin type is different and responds to treatment differently so there is no device that is going to work for every age, every skin type, every ethnicity and every flaw. While recovering from an auto accident I had/have nothing but time and used the silk n flash laser laser remover and got rid of almost every hair on my body. The spots that I had a hard time with had hyper pigmentation or melasia so the device could not read the skin tone. Once to treated the skin it got rid of those hairs as well. I also got the laser after talking to my doctor and she said at 44 with my skin it would work great but to definitely get the $269. I did and because I had the time used it daily and also bought the silk n microdermabrasion (how I got rid of the hyper pigmentation) and it is amazing. But I have great skin and had reasonable expectations and used retinol, vitamin C, hyaluronic moisturizer, Image Ormedic antioxidant and vitamin B3 niacinamide serums in rotation and good eye creams. I also used charcoal, Dead Sea mud and bentonite face masks. I started with pretty good skin and am thrilled with the results I could not have gotten anything better at a doctors office! It works really really well but it is very time consuming and a commitment and sporadic use does nothing. My results showed up in three weeks and just kept getting better but in some cases it takes eight weeks and if you give up or stop the consistency you won’t get results. I don’t know what serums they suggest but I would ask your doctor or the company. I will add that none of the products or masks I used were name brand derma-nu and art naturals and they are as good as the expensive products I used for years before the car accident. Bottom line it is a great product, the company is solid and has excellent customer service the results just depend on a lot of variables so they do vary from person to person! For me it is a five star winner!
As is needling, dry brushing and cupping!! If you are familiar with those they are cheap and AMAZING!
Hi Susan, can you post an update? You last posted on November 6th and I am thinking about buying this for my 57 year old sister for Christmas, can you let me know.
Thanks
I wish I had taken before pictures.. this product after 25 days using it faithfully everyday has made a huge difference. My family notices the results as well. My skin tone is now even and pore size are very small. I have deep wrinkles around my mouth and they are still there, so I’m Abit skeptical about this device for wrinkles. But I will continue daily for another month and then decide..
How can you claim to rate a product you haven’t tried? I’m more skeptical of your blog than of any products you claim to have knowledge of. I was hoping for some tangible evidence, not speculation and, “See for yourself,” advice. I guess this means that the title of your blog, “Does it really work?” doesn’t really work.
Believe it or not it does work. I am almost 66 years old. I started using this little device again after about a six month hiatus and I have been using it for about 10 days. I have used it on my face and neck 4 or 5 times a week and most of the wrinles and crows feet that I had are almost gone. and/or fading. I use a mask before hand to clean and get rid of old dead skin and mositurizer afterwards. I also drinks lots of water. I will never look 20 again but I don’t look like an old bag either.

I read that it can degrade fillers so I don’t think I’d use it.
I had Juvederm filler injections about 2 months ago, & I need to know if it is safe for me to use Face FX, again, because of the Juvederm skin bumps? Anyone know?????
Zulily has it right now for $99
Just received mine too on flex pay for $100 and free shipping from HSN.
Costs $20x 5 flex on Han. Now.
I just received mine. I hope it works!!!
Did it work?
I just bought it at Macys for $129
Does anyone know if this will work on stretch marks? I’ve read a lot of research on the benefits of collagen to help reduce stretch marks ??
I got this as a media trial set and had to do a semi scientific test of course. I hate all those ridiculous blogger reviews where they give a verdict after ONE use. So, used it on the back of my left hand; not on the right. I have wrinkly grandma hands. I swear, one use of about 10 min of mindless running it over my hand and neck, two days later as I was driving, both hands on the wheel, I noticed a marked difference in the skin texture on my left hand. The lines were finer, not as deep — basically the skin looked smoother.
I kept up the treatments over two weeks, using it every two or three days. The results seem to have plateaued, but my left hand is definitely less wrinkly. I’ve asked colleagues and friends to compare both hands without telling them the backgrounder, so that I’m getting unbiased opinions.
Starting to use it on the back of both hands now, to see if the skin texture of the right hand will “catch up” or the left will continue to look better, in which case there’d be some indication of continuous, progressive improvement.
Also using over my neck where there are deep grooves coz honestly, I don’t moisturize it enough. Again, I’m spending more time on the left side and left shoulder blade where I also have deep grooves. The experiment continues…
Hi! just curious on how this turned out for you? any results?
I have this product and obviously you won’t see results right away after only a few tries but the more you use it you will definitely see a difference. There is no overnight cure for wrinkles but this product does work over time. I am happy with the results I’ve received.
I’m a sucker for any product that helps to increase the production of collagen 😀 OMG I can’t believe I’m about to shell out $300 for this but I think I will LOL~ But in all seriousness it’s a onetime fee so you may actually end up saving a lot more money than going to beauty salons to get facials and such. I’m such a whore for anti-aging products, but I can’t help myself.
