Does Banana Boat Sunscreen Work?Even if the weather isn’t super hot there is always a need for sunscreen for all age groups, so are some better than others like the Banana Boat Sunscreen?

Banana Boat  Sunscreen comes with some pretty heavy marketing tactics. Lately there have been a lot of television ads running to boost sales and create an interest. There are several different products in the Banana Boat Sunscreen line. There are the products for kids, then the sports line and the product line for tanning. Then within some of these they are broken down into further categories.

The Claim
Each product within the Banana Boat Sunscreen comes with its own unique claims. As an example, the Banana Boat® Sport Performance® Lotion Sunscreens with PowerStay Technology comes in different SPF strengths. This particular product is being touted as being able to stay on in 7 different types of conditions.

The Hype
The hype doesn’t come through with big claims over one simple product. The momentum for the Banana Boat sunscreen line comes from the significant number of products that they offer. With each one serving a major purpose whether it be targeting a specific skin area, or focusing on a convenience.

The Cost
The Banana Boat Sunscreen products are available at a variety of different locations, which means they can vary in price. On Amazon for example, you can purchase the Banana Boat Sport Performance Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30, 8 Ounce for $5.84.

The Commitment
As with any sunscreen product you are first going to have to choose the one with the SPF that you feel is going to give you the best protection. Then you are going to have to remember to use it as per instructions. It is always important to read all of the instructions of any sunscreen that you buy. They each have their limitations and the frequency in which they must be applied. In order to be fully protected you need to adhere by these instructions.

One of the biggest factors that we like about the Banana Boat Sunscreen line is the Company’s devotion to offering a whole line of related products. They are not like many other companies who offer one choice amongst their many other cosmetic products.

Final Banana Boat Sunscreen Review

We are going to give the Banana Boat Sunscreen a Thumbs up rating. We like the fact that they have specialized in just this one type of product. We also like the fact that there are some variances in the product. You can choose the one that best suits your lifestyle. Overall it is getting a good rating on Amazon.

Our Recommendation
We really encourage you to take the time to choose the most appropriate of the Banana Sunscreen products that are most applicable to your lifestyle. Take the time to review each of the products carefully before making your choice. Sunscreens are not a product that we have reviewed about in the past. The one exception to this is the Jwoww Tanning lotion which is not a sunscreen but an actual tanning lotion that changes the color of your skin.

I am a fair fair-skinned person and cannot tan (come from a line of Irish redheads, although I am blonde). I just burn horribly and freckle, and have already has skin cancer on my shoulders, with precancerous growth on my upper chest. I first purchased the Banana Boat 50+ in 2009 after my son was born. It was very thick and white, and I think it had zinc oxide in it. It coated his skin and mine well and worked wonderfully. I still have that squeeze tube but it is almost gone. So, for a trip recently I purchased another squeeze tube of it, same label, same look, same SPF. My son is now 8 and tans, so he doesn’t need as much of it. I still need it, of course. This new bottle of it does NOT work. I notice that it is much thinner and runnier than it was in 2009-2011. Upon reading the ingredients list, they have changed the formula. It is total CRAP! I applied it in a thick layer, nearly took a bath in the stuff, while on vacation, and went out sight-seeing on a sunny day, believing I was protected by this stuff like I used to be. Huge mistake. Within an hour I was burning. I never went into the water, just walked around. Got back to our hotel and I was red and blistering. In addition to a horrible sunburn it appears that chemicals in the formula were further hurting my skin. I began itching and my skin began cracking in spots where I was burned. Not sure if I developed sun poisoning or if the cream made it worse. It totally ticks me off that they changed the formula and continue to lie about the product. It’s as effective as putting water on your skin. What a total rip-off and lie. They should he held responsible for negligence, leading people to believe their product still works when it doesn’t, and causing bodily harm. I will be looking for another product. Bye-bye, Banana Boat. You screwed up.

I noticed while wearing (SLATHERING) Banana Boat 50, that I was tanning. Unacceptable. I am returning my other tubes. I used the “dry’ variety under my makeup and the orange tube of sport-type SPF.
